  1. Yup Wonderland is the place to go these days for entertainment. Biggest amusement park in the country. It's up in Vaughan I think, which is just a short drive north of Toronto.
  2. Yeah we've got a lot more important things to make than visceroids now, such as actual units.
  3. It's got some nice restaurants and a few clubs... and a museum... but that's really it heh.
  4. Montreal's full of porn stores on every block, and everyone speaks French. It's scary!
  5. When you were in the Tiberium? I thought that was just with chemical missiles. Then again I've never put my infantry in Tiberium to try it out  Was it a Firestorm feature?
  6. Lol I think Toronto is the least clean and laid back city in our country. But welcome!
  7. Well that never actually happened in Tiberian Dawn or C&C Renegade (or any C&C game I think?), it was usually weapons like the Tiberian Sun chemical missile or Renegade's singleplayer Chemsprayer that turned people into visceroids, but not Tiberium. As for making chemical weapons turn people into mutants, I don't think we're doing that. Sure it's cool, but it defeats the purpose of a weapon, which is to kill the enemy, rather than make them stronger or regenerate health. If the gun did that I wouldn't use it.
  8. QUOTE I agree completely. If the commander had access to a map overview, rebuilding structures, and firing superweapons, then he'd be legitimate. But all of the features I've named are not good for Westwood's C&C Renegade. There are a few servers out there with team commanders, and the system I think is pretty overrated. Not only do people not listen to a commander who poses no real advantage in the game, but like you mentioned, players shouldn't always blindly follow the orders they get. In the servers I'm talking about, anybody could be a commander, and a lot of the time they come up with very lousy tactics. Although teamwork is a good thing, bad strategies are often a lot worse than doing your own thing.
  9. QUOTE (Mighty BOB! @ Jun 14 2009, 01:55 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's just really awfully awkward
  10. Well the movement is just as fast as Renegade's. Empires is not very fast due to its huge maps.
  11. I probably won't meet you. It's an extremely busy time for me, with work, job hunting, university applications & orientations, the mod, and life. Plus, I don't really like meeting internet people - it's no offense to you, I've just actually done it before and it's not that cool.
  12. QUOTE Because you can't do that in UT3 unless it's a server-side mutator. Plus, people could easily change things like superweapon beacons to make them more easily heard.
  13. Because Mighty BOB! answered the question, it does not need a vote.
  14. There will only be an original boink, there will be no custom content in the mod. QUOTE
  15. Why the Renegade Forums? This is Renegade X, they shouldn't be deciding our mod's features, we should.
  16. Actually, Renegade's gameplay is quite faster than most other popular FPS games, such as the Battlefield series, Call of Duty series, Ghost Recon series, and even the Halo series. It's one of the only games where movement needs to be continual with run and gun action, while other FPS games emphasize duck, cover, prone, and capturing control points. There are also immediate spawn times, and not much time is spent reloading, finding ammo, or waiting for guns to charge. The movement itself might not be "fast", but many aspects of the game make it faster paced than many others.
  17. TsuScorpio from TsuGaming.com has just posted an interview with myself concerning some important issues revolving around Renegade X. The 12-question interview can be found here: http://www.tsugaming.com/forums/viewtopic....777f80d2454eb4e Since forum registration is obligatory on the tsugaming network, one must register on their forum to view the interview. For those who are unable to register, the full interview will be posted on this thread on June 13th, 2009 (this Saturday). Here is an excerpt: QUOTE
  18. He's not on the team yet, but I will be giving him a task to test out his skills.
  19. I've seen some pretty cool rushes in the past seven years. One of which my clan had pulled off on another clan. It was an 8v8 in a tournament, and I had commanded my team. It was City Flying. I split the clan into 2 squads. Each squad consisted of: 2 artilleries, 1 repair tech, and 1 blackhand sniper. We got all of these units as soon as we could near the beginning of the game, and each squad went their own way: 1 on the bridge facing the WF, and the other on the other side of the base facing the powerplant. We had artilleries to attack the buildings (4 on a building is a tough match), snipers to take out infantry resistance and engineers and possibly any Orcas, and techs to repair the artilleries when they got damaged. We managed to get both the Refinery and Powerplant in that one go. Another cool plan we pulled off in the same match was a funny one: 7 Nod APCs and 1 nuker. It's simple, the 7 APCs defended the nuke. No matter how many PICs the other team had, they were no match for that many APCs. And one we usually pull off every ReneGame or NE-Versary is the infamous SBH rush. We were once able to get 16 SBHs that had taken out a shit load of GDI vehicles. And of course, everyone's favourite, Gunner rushes. I've once taken part in a 27-man Gunner rush. It was epic.
  20. QUOTE Actually that was the original plan - Renegade 2 was set to come out in the 2003/2004 period while TT was going to be out right after that. Remember that Westwood was working on Emperor: Battle for Dune until about mid 2001, and that TT would've probably needed quite a bit of time to finish and perfect, like Tiberian Sun.
  21. Our Renegade X songs will be available for listening to ingame, with a C&C-style built in media player like in the RTS games. You can find all of our songs on our Mod DB page.
  22. QUOTE Well a Renegade 2 would also partly save the series, as it is the missing link between the two universes.
  23. That definitely would've been my second choice. I've got two strong feelings about C&C inside me - the will to have fun and the will to get the canon fixed. Although I would love a Tiberian Twilight, I probably would've ended up playing Renegade 2 a lot more. RTS for me is a once in a while thing, while I played Renegade daily for years.
  24. If you had the choice to resurrect one canceled C&C project, what would it be? C&C Renegade 2? C&C Tiberian Twilight? C&C Continuum? or Tiberium? Vote and comment!
