  3. No i'm not asking for something worse, because extra maps offer more gameplay, whereas customizations don't. I agree that CoD doesn't give good value for what you pay in my opinion (€15 for 4 maps or something?), but the example I named does, again, in my opinion. An expansion to the game is usually something good, but it all depends on the contents of that expansion of course, and cosmetics, in my opinion, are not, never, that sort of stuff should be free user created stuff in the Steam Workshop.

  5. I think what he means is remodel and rename everything so it's no longer C&C but their own IP. That's a shitload of work, and the fact that this game uses all the stuff from the C&C universe if one of its appeals I think, it's a selling point. About the IAP (In-app purchases) or microtransactions: Oh god please no keep that *** out of this game. There are other ways of gathering more money, like 1 or 2 big DLC packs with a lot more maps, if you want a good example of this done right: Mario Kart 8 DLC, which was 12 euros for 16 maps (stand-alone the game has 32, so thats a huge increase). So, you know, actual content with some good value.. not a damn sticker for your gun.. Excuse my language.
  6. I remember playing on that server, or at least some server which had that system, I felt appreciated. Just a thank you or an Affirmative can be enough, recommendations are even better. But sometimes they don't seem to notice you and push you into the tiberium, or flee away from a flametank without giving you a chance to hop in. I usually hop into the tank i'm repairing if I start getting shot at from behind by an sbh.

  8. Mostly gameplay and balance feedback ! Can we expect your map any time soon as well? Edit: new version of crash site uploaded. First I need to complete the dam interior and the tunnel system. at this phase there's no point in testing it yet.
  9. My map still needs a lot of work before it's ready for testing, but i'm looking forward to it. What do you guys, Ruud and Handepsilon, like feedback on specifically? Bugs? Ways to get out of the map? Opinions on the balancing? All of the above? Or something else?
  10. Yeah it can happen with all 3, Timed C4, Remote C4, and Mines. Can be quite frustrating when you don't have HoN or Barracks anymore.
  11. I decided to just play less hours a week, I try to play when I think there's some quality rounds going on, so in the evenings generally, when the server has 35-40 players online. And sometimes you do get good games, and other times just multiple shitty ones in a row. The best ones are the ones where a lot of players cooporate in team work and it doesnt take 10 minutes to get half a rush together, just to fail hard because not enough people joined or you waited too long. And sometimes there's just no communication or organizing going on, and those are the boring games imo, feels very pointless. It's C&C Mode, not Deatmatch.... I hope they change the Airstrip and WF to how Barracks and HoN are when they are destroyed, in that you only have access to the lower tier vehicles (Humvee/Buggy & APC, and maybe Artillery & MRLS, just maybe). When is 4.03 coming?

  14. He killed me too today while I was stealth, from a long distance. He got kicked pretty fast a couple of hours ago when he was on TmX, people knew who he was by then. I don't see what joy people get out of cheating and ruining a game like that.

    Mining tutorial

    I loved how it was possible on Islands and Goldrush (the treestump, now blocked). It required some jumping skill (especially on Islands), and in the occasion they mined at the sandbags instead of doors it gave an opportunity to infiltrate, if you had the knowledge of how to do it, I really liked that. Would be happy if they brought that back, and maybe make the one on Islands a bit more obvious.
  16. Sounds like a cool idea Maybe make it so that GDI can only pick up Nod's drops, and vice versa? And then maybe not even visible to the other team? Make them flash a bit when they pick it up, just like they do when they recieve damage.
  17. I like the health pack idea. Health only, no armour, recover a maximum of X health. how full the health pack is can be displayed as ammo. It should take some time to heal though, about as slow as an engineer repair tool, maybe slower? You shouldn't be able to do it in the middle of a gunfight in my opinion.

GDI Refinery is actually easier to reach than PP and WF (in B3 at least, don't know if it changed in B4) I think it should stay in, you have the bridge as bottleneck, place mines there, and keep an eye on that spot, and watch mine count. Also be alert if you hear the obelisk go off. GDI doesn't have invisible characters so in my opinion Nod bases should have more cover for sneaking. It might be unrealistic, but Gameplay > Realism.
  19. My top 5: 1. Reduce Officer Damage 2. Reduce Officer Range 3. Make the Officer & Chaingun Officer, and SBH lasergun louder from a distance (less fallof in audio) 4. Make the Officer non-hitscan For the sake of variation: 5. Only have Buggy/Humvee, APC, and Artillery/MRLS available when the vehicle factory is destroyed (Yes, this fits into the balancing category)

An ingame tutorial (either a playable scripted level, or a video with selectable chapters) would be very nice, even if it just covers the basic stuff of what the game is about and why teamwork is usually very important. It should also cover mine placement and limits, and not leaving your vehicle (there's some exceptions though, I know that), those 2 mistakes have been really getting on my nerves since I'm back to playing regularly in Beta 4.
  21. I haven't tested it yet but you could try to open: C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\UDKGame\Config\UDKGame.ini Search for [DefaultPlayer], and change your Name there.
  22. Capturing a single silo grants the team access to tiberium based secondary weaponry. Next to that, a silo increases the teams credit income by 1 per tick. As an interresting addition to this idea of having resources only through silos: While multiple silos are availible, not only the credit per tick should increase, but perhaps the weaponry decreased in price? Or capturing 1 silo grants 1 weapon, 2 gives access to the 2nd? I don't think one is better than the other, they're just different, sometimes you need the Flechete and sometimes the Auto Rifle (that's what the other one is called right?).

I agree that buildings should be close together to counter nukes and infiltration, but even on Islands it takes me 13.5 seconds to get from the Barracks farthest purchase terminal to the entrance of the Refinery. So, I agree with your point but the numbers are a bit off, somewhere between 12 and 20 seconds is a good margin I think. I have 17 seconds on my own map at the moment (on both bases)
  24. They're called breadcrumbs if i'm not mistaken. In my opinion "Board Index" should be added to them, instead of the small link it is now, right above the breadcrumbs.
