In my opinion (one that is not shared widely), I would just remove the SBH from the purchase list, and only allow it as a crate character for spies regardless of faction.
Then replace the missing character class with another class such as a stronger anti-infantry option, or maybe a gunner alternative for Nod.

Islands > B2B is easily used by some newbs (who don't know the rule) or trolls - it needs to be fixed. I think i could try - i know a bit how to use SDK
Have a look at IslandsXtra, and see if you can do B2B on there, I would be interested to know if it is possible.

Following the success of the 1st Community event (Devs + Mods vs Players), our next planned event will be a custom map event (2nd Feb)
As such, if people have any suggestions for maps to play, please post them below and we will discuss which maps will be available.
Initial list of suggestions:Paradise
Forest
Woods
IslandsXtra
Steppe
Walls Snowing
Training Yard
Frostbite
Glasses
The Nod vs Black Hand maps are unique enough that they may be worth doing as a separate event, but will keep them in consideration.

Maybe also Cruise Missiles could be included into this cooldown. 2 successive Missiles on a GT are impossible to counter right now
If a team wants to use 800 CP per missile to attempt to kill a GT/Turret, then it should be perfectly fine.
Its the same as a team using an offensive buff to attack, but with the ability to be shot down, which would have no effect at all.

I would not remove these, they are good spamming ones for various things, and while they don't get used much, their use is critical especially if you need to rapidly switch targets to a building out of sight, or some other reason you can't use Q to do it.

- Killing a higher level player gives you a bigger reward and some good kills could make your team come back more easily
- If everyone is heroic and the game drags on everyone having a bit higher respawntime should result in good rushes with good kills meaning more and beeing more likely to end the game. So scaling respawn time based on veterancy could i think help ending like 64 player stalemates or stomps more timely
Sounds good to me

Will you be able to play: Yes
Will it be enjoyable: Probably not, you would need a much better CPU for it since the Intel IGPU is not great.

Like what about just a pop up when you hit join in the launcher that pops up if the server uses custom maps and has info like:
"This server uses custom maps. Pls downoad them from "ftp://...Maps.zip. Maps last updated on Nov 3rd 2019"
Honestly, anything at the moment is worth testing.

why put a map with critical bugs on public server?
I wasn't aware of it having critical bugs, and assumed Madkill had done due diligence in testing for basic defects.
As for Frostbite, it has now been removed from CT Marathon's available map list.

A launcher downloader would be susceptible to the exact same issues, except even more so since it'd be a centralized repository
Except what you are doing with the HTTP downloading atm is deferring the download till they "need" it, rather than before joining.
Since if people download before joining, it is less likely to put strain on the repository, since the bandwidth is more spread out over time than all at once.

Im sure they are watching the situation, but its up to them what maps they use.
What i really wish we had is a custom map downloader in the launcher, so that it downloads all maps before you even join.
We used to, but Agent removed it a while back.

Just as a suggestion tho, but what about blocking teamswitching altogether and instead creating a vote option to balance the teams? (preferably combined with a system taking skill into account). Would kinda help block stacking/crappy teamswitching while focussing on restoring teambalance. Main downside obviously being that people generally wouldn't enjoy being switched to a losing team. Then again, that IS a necessary evil at some point.
It may be worth exploring

I'd just force the same team for the player on joining as when they left barring exceptional difference criteria.

Strange...
It looks like a missing package, I can put a copy on the server later, but it shouldn't have any city assets.
For the meanwhile, you can download the file from the Website, and it should have all the necessary packages.

Are you using Skip Movies?

SBH with an adv rep gun tho
Wouldn't be an issue, the SBH cannot pick up any weapon from the weapon pickup crate by design.

What if once Barracks/ Hon is destroyed, instead of completely removing the Hotwire/Tech class, remove weapons. ie. remote c4 and timed c4.
It doesn't make sense to remove the weapons available to the base class. I don't mind dropping the timed c4 to balance out the remaining proxy c4 option, but it seems a little too heavy handed, since C4 is used as a defensive tool to kill invaders inside buildings and remoting vehicles inside the base.

I may just decide to mutate the changes I suggested to the Tech/Hotwire/Mining and see how they pan out. It may be worth the testing of it.
Especially since the change to the mines would make mines a more aggressive option rather than defensive since there is further to run before a refill or changed to a recharged refill.

Based on what has been mentioned so far, is the fact people don’t want the bases being able to be reminded by these units.
How about this for an alternative arrangement.
A modified Hotwire/Technician class with access to their normal kit, except their mines have restrictions on them, so they can only be placed a certain distance from any friendly building?
This way, they could be used to defend locations like tunnels but not inside their base perimeter
-
Well the intention to add them to crates would still make them rare (rarer than even the Epic characters), since they have a larger pool to be selected from.
Other alternatives could be to add a modified hotwire/technician class which has just the standard C4 compliment (1 Timed/2 Remotes) rather than the full compliement and a recharging Proxy mine selection, instead of the full 3 available.
So you could only place 1 every 30 seconds, making them far more tactical.
-
Would you like to see the addition of Hotwires/Technicans being added to character crates once the Barracks and Hand of Nod are destroyed?
There are pros and cons attached to this.
Feedback is appreciated.
[P.S: This does not permit the classes in the spy crates, just crates that turn you into a class of your faction]

This is more my line of thinking, using their rocket launcher option.
