What are you aiming to do with your build? Are you looking at using as a Content Creation device (Map Making, Video Editing and other CPU core benefitting tasks) or Gaming (Which tend to favor high CPU clock speeds). Both the specs you listed above can do both tasks very well. The Intel CPU is definately capable of a higher clock speed, which makes gaming a lot smoother, since it has plenty of cores and high speed clock The Ryzen CPU has the benefit of having 2 extra cores over the Intel CPU, which is 4 extra threads, which is ideal for the Workstation side of things, which considering you enjoy Map making every so often will prove better for you, and the CPU is still a high CPU clock speed as well, but doesn't have the same high boost clock compared to the Intel CPU, but with sufficient cooling (which will be necessary on both CPUs) Overclocking them would yeild a tangible benefit in Workstation use on the Ryzen CPU. TLDR: Intel for pure gaming potential, Ryzen for more versitility at the cost of a base boost clock on the CPU cores.

If you rely solely on players you can push the player count to about 80 any more than that and it is far too demanding on most current servers

You can overclock your system outside of games, you don't need to be in-game to overclock. You can check your in-game FPS by typing F5 stat fps

Any solution should be a part of the game, not an optional download. Especially since Jupiter is not the only bot out there that is capable of interfacing on to Renegade X servers.

It doesn't work like that, its all hosted by Jupiter, not the server. Jupiter is the IRC bot that most of the servers use, to help moderate the servers.

The leaderboard does not include users who don't use Steam.

Except what you fail to take into account with this is the fact that numbers DO matter, 17 people to 15 may mean that while in a rough 5/5/5 split for Aggressive, Defensive and Field Support, a 2 player addition to any of the groups, would be a massive swing in their favor. 7 Medium skill tank players vs 5 High skill tankers, numbers make a massive difference. (Bare in mind this is just an example) but this is something you need to take into consideration.

This can get out of hand easily without other restrictions, such as placement and cost. AGN's rebuilding turrets and towers are one possibility but consideration needs to be given as to the balance adjustments and the power between Turrets and Guard Towers.
