  1. I agree with this it was a lot more fun repairing when you was taking damage constantly from explosions, having to take turns healing other engineers as well as repairing the building.
  2. Its a glitch that happens when you switch weapons during the reload animation.
  3. Matchmaking wouldn't work in a game like this because you pick what server you want to play on. All matchmaking would do is throw a random group of people into a match making one of them act as the server. Some of the server that are setup for the game have trouble running some of the matches, are you sure you would want some random person in the match acting as the server?
  4. You are using the in game server list, it is buggy right now and will throw you on to other servers. Your best bet is to use the server list on the launcher and connect from there till they get the in game list fixed.
  5. It is not a bug. It was in the old renegade and the devs said they where keeping it in, the same for Stealth black hand. Q: Will this weather make it easier to spot stealthed units? (Like water rolling off of an invisible object.) A: No, because it would break the balance if you could see invisible people on many of the maps. Little movement puff of dust/water/snow that were in Renegade already will probably stay though. Was it as pronounced in the original renegade? The kick up is half the height of the tank itself. Maybe I don't really remember its been years since i last played it. I just know it was there. I believe the tanks only kick up the dust once they start moving and stops once they get up to speed. I would test it out but I think that is something you would need 2 people to test.
  6. I'm not sure but I think the beacon placement indicator in the old renegade was a bug. And after this many year I doubt there is a way to see if it was a bug or not. Yes the vocal are kind of low but you can just adjust the other volumes so that you can hear it.
  7. I did some testing with the beacons and from the times I got the total length from placing to finish animation is about 57 seconds. With the first 47 seconds being the disarm phase and the last 10 seconds on the count down being immune.
  8. Yes the obelisk might be at a huge disadvantage from one route, GDI's entire base is at a disadvantage from multiple routes. The only thing the Guard tower really even protects is itself. And for all the other turrets GDI have I think most of them can be avoided in one way or another. I did some trial and error testing and with nod basic infantry i was able to make it into 3 of the 5 building in one run. Granted yes it was solo play but I also wasn't using a Stealth Black Hand which has more health and armor. I know you can also easily make it into the refinery without the guard tower shooting at you.
  9. It should do a lot of the things that it doesn't it's in beta they haven't had time to fix all the bugs. I bet you don't know that it will throw you on to servers you didn't even pick. So your best bet is to just join from the launcher and not in game. That way you know you and your friend are on the same server. And no as of yet there is no way to view the server info in a match.

  11. Its sad your complaining about the last 10 second of the of a 56 second count down being immune. Its your fault if you wait for the countdown to start. They give you 30 seconds from the first warning till the countdown starts. But i guess they could fix it to the way your wanting it by having it start the count down as soon as the beacon placed giving you only 30 seconds to find kill any defenders and disarm it. But I willing to bet if they did that you would complain its too short of a time. Once people learn to work as a team and there is tanks defending the beacons instead of just infantry. The 56 seconds is the entire nuke from placement till impact. With the immunity around the 47 second mark. Not exact count down but its the best I could get to being exact.
  12. Actually GDI way of doing base assaults makes them more dangerous then nod. The problem is that most of the community is new and haven't figured out how to work as a team. With a GDI assault you have one warning and if the building they are attacking isn't mine, you have to stop them from even entering the building. Most of the time it would be a APC filled with hotwires. If I remember correctly a apc can carry 6 people counting the driver. Each hotwire carrying enough explosives to do 120% damage to building. That is a lot faster then the 40ish sec the nuke gives you. Yes you are likely going to get seen but one apc could take out 2 to 3, maybe all 4 building depending on how many nod are even in the base. And with no base defense that means nod has to kill the apc unless the driver jumps out. And to be honest the only reason NOD relies heavily on the nuke is because it doesn't require a lot of teamwork if the base is undefended.
  13. I love the boink, but I don't think I would want it any louder.
  14. Honestly only having 1 defend is what causes most of GDI loses on the map. One person can usually hold off the solo nukes, but eventually NOD will start sending more when they see the solo fail time and time again. You usually want 2 to 4 base defenders.
  15. I never assuming a enemy is disarming the mines, because one I most likely run into them as I'm checking the base. And the second reason is because 90% of the time it's someone on my team using remote c4 or trowing mines somewhere else. So yes the mine limit lets you know something is going on with the mines but rarely is it because they are being disarmed. Honestly if you want to get rid of something telling you that mines are disappearing you should get them to remove the boink from mine kills.
  16. Also if you ever played the old renegade you know that the mine limit included remote c4. So if you have someone on your team that decides to place a lot of remote mines. You wouldn't know the mines where gone till he died or set them off. I checked and yes remotes still count towards mine limit.
  17. Honestly if you miss the warning alerts I don't think a planting noise would help. If they added a planting sound it would have to be 1/4 of the area as the pinging sound you hear once its been planted.
  18. I don't see how you still don't get the rush. It just means that you already fail to disarm it. So look up and kiss your ass goodbye or run for safety.
  19. If he is a merc then he would be on GDI. Cultist tend to not pay well. So I would go with him being a double agent.
  20. Yes people need to think outside the box and learn how to DEFEND!!!
  21. Honestly I'm looking forward to when they add back in the 64 vs 64 matches. I know it might not happen but if it did. No one would use the voice chat or even have it turn on. If you feel you need voice chat that badly download teamspeak 3 open the ren-x launcher and look though the server list. Some of the servers have website linked into the launcher with their teamspeak info. Yes you may have to look a bit to find it.
  22. I agree. I had to set my EVA announcer volume to 100% and everything else to 20% just so I could hear that an airstrike had been called in on our collective asses. Also as pointed out earlier, there needs to be the planting sound like in the original. Really the only time I have missed a beacon call is when they spam 4 or 5 beacons at once. Causing the announcement for one to get cover by a update for one of the first ones. I also have all the in game sound setting set to 10%. Also it is good chances are that if you can't hear the alert over the battle your in your not that close to the base to even be of use. Humvees and apc are the only vehicles that might make it back, but it would still be close.
  23. I just wanted to point out these are thing you would consider doing on a all out war server that has a time limit. On a marathon server the only way a team can win is to destroy the enemies base.
