  2. Hi, We just purchased and setup an EU Based RenegadeX Server with the DDoS protection as our US one. This one is located in Frankfurt, Germany. Since we've had alot of complaints about pings, hopefully this should fix it. We are looking into moving our US Server to another location perhaps to lower pings for EU Players also.   3. I finally switched from the obsolete WinRAR, 7zip compresses loads better, and is free. Dump the WinRAR people!
  4. Playing on a US Server with a ping above 100ms is not an option. Nope, servers still not ok You'll be ok lol
  5. My Server stood up against all DDoS attacks today, and did not go down or drop players once. Other servers do not have the protection I put in place, but I do keep updating my post in the server owner forums on my latest blocks.
  6. Sorry about the one DDoS that got through, I've refined my filter rules yet again and I think 90% of the attacks are blocked now.
  7. Don't take offense but I don't think you know what you are talking about considering what you just said. CT hasn't had DDoS protection for quite awhile, the DDoS'r has been dormant so there was no need for it. And B0ng is a busy man now, real life comes first no doubt. Ryz was simply saying CT and others servers list ddos protected when they are not, and players such as this SALMAN are falsely believing in CT, when currently there is 0 protection and it goes down quite easy. Ryz is trying to keep this game going and I only have my server protected because of B0ng, I'm grateful for all the work he put in, I even found new filters to block new attacks and sent those to B0ng. I'm trying to help the RenX Community out, I do not play the game, Besides hosting a server I am not too interested in it either. But if no one is gonna use it, I'm gonna turn it off eventually as it takes quite a bit of resources away from my VDS that im using. (FYI we still host and play Old School Renegade and its on that box )

  9. Sorry I don't get what you mean by that? Either way, MPF hasnt' been taken down due to the attacks yet, I've watched the server as much as I can. Even at work (plz don't tell my boss) Just scream lag or ddos ingame if its under attack and i'll see and filter those attacks.

  11. I've been staying on top of the attack and as of right now we are immune to them. Been getting attacked for two days and seeing little to no damage from it. Let me know if anything comes up, Im doing my best to keep this server ddos protected.
  12. I haven't the resources to have a mod team in place really. I'm just able to defend it against DDoS Attacks. I'm happy letting whoever moderate in my server. It's just a gameserver what are they gonna do that can't be undone? And if they do something that bad, remove them and never give them mod again

  14. Pretty sure this is due to the Server being overloaded with fake players from the DDoS, I observed this on my server after an attack aswell.

  17. I've put up a DDoS Protected server until B0ng gets his up. [uSA]MPForums.com AOW [DDoS Protected] 74.91.113.100:7777 It uses all of b0ng's filters to block the ddos, in fact while i was sleeping at 4:15am Central we got attacked and I observed logs and saw no harm coming to the server.
  18. No it doesn't take long. B0ng just has a different job than he did way back, and hasn't had time to setup the servers. Its literally sitting there waiting for him to install, I'll try to help him this weekend with it if he needs help. We don't even need the pcaps from attacks to stop it, b0ng already has 90% of his attack types blocked. It just takes time to setup the infrastructure again as I already said. I don't see us using a VPN to limit traffic. This is an open game for anyone that downloads it can play. Sorry that wouldn't work. That being said, thank you for speaking up and trying to help, not many around here understand attacks or linux for that matter. It's much appreciated.

  20. We have been easily mitigating the large attacks, the attacks he is doing is against the application, so the ONLY way is to packet capture and make rules to drop those malicious packets. Trust me on this b0ng has it in the bag, It works everytime. It just costs more $$$ and therefore if there are no attacks we don't spend the money on it. All in All, b0ng knows how to resolve it, he did, we did what he told us. No DDoS attacks harm us then.
  21. I forgot to mention @b0ng It would only start a new capture after the previous capture ended. It wasn't starting it every X amount of packets no matter if the previous finished or not, it waited.
  22. I just through it together quick to do a packet limit parameter, figured out about how much runs in a minute. I think when I calculated I had like 1-3 months to clear old pcaps. I think I only had 100GB free at the time. So its a great quick solution to get the pcaps, just check disk space every month or two heh I just checked my old logs, and for 3 days ish work of pcaps it was 6GB The only problem with that is if we run the dump every X seconds with the duration parameter specified in total packets, there's a high probability that we'll either miss some packets or run overlapping dumps. How did you work around this? There wasn't anything to workaround, it just worked, considering the floods are several hundred to thousand packets, its very easy to capture quite a few of the malicious packets.

  24. Personally I just setup a batch file in windows to packet capture every minute, date and time stamp. Then when an attack happens just grab however many minutes you need. PM me or something if you want more info b0ng It worked great for me and never failed, I still have that pcap I sent you to analyze (jk it was tcp so i blocked tcp entirely)
  25. I have pretty descent ISP, but I also get horrid speeds to the auto patcher in the launcher.
