  1. It uses whatever you have your steam friends name set to =)
  2. I genuinely believe unlock systems are one of the reasons FPS gaming has gone down the crapper the past few years.
  3. Should be an option but I won't feel bad if it isn't.
  4. Hah, yea that was fun. It did cost 1700 creds plus the money it cost us to select those classes though. It also required a bit of teamwork and opportunity to set that up. We had fairly good control of the tunnels for a good portion of that game which you saw a little bit of in the Q&A. Field does have those little nooks you can sneak in to fairly easy but trying that on a map like islands or whiteout where they will see 2+ people coming from a mile away is a lot harder to accomplish. Sure enough, if it does prove to be a balance issue it will likely be addressed. I'm just saying it's a pretty situational item and the beacon/airstrike thing does require teamwork and opportunity =) EDIT: Oh! and I should point out that we put down two nuke beacons and one of them was disarmed before the airstrike arrived =P
  5. How it works just now, you buy the airstrike from a PT like you would a nuke/ion. You can't have both at one time. I believe they double in price when power plant is destroyed. You right click to bring the binoculars up and left click to target. While painting an area, you are completely stationary and there is a visible beam from you to the target. Once fully targeted, both teams get an airstrike announcement (Although this is likely to change). There are a few seconds until the airstrike actually begins. Airstrike do little damage to buildings, they're more effective against players. They aren't instant kill on higher tier vehicles or infantry so even if you are caught in a strike, you still have a brief time to escape the targeted area. As you can see here from one of my other videos, it took 4 shots from the Nod Airstrike to kill me over 4 seconds along with the medium tank. From playing I can at least say that they've never really felt spammed or overpowered.
  6. Its speed is definitely the first thing I noticed about the stealth tank. I've gotten used to it now but it's a very noticeable difference.
  7. Can't speak for it in comparison to Renegade since it's been so long but I can at least say that it is neither OP or UP.
  8. So the phase 3 beta has been going on for a few weeks now and I was lucky enough to get into it. Taken a few gameplay videos that I've shown on other forums but realised I haven't shown on here yet =P The latest video from Sunday's test =D y15E9Tn3RMs HD: And from Saturday =) _mcdocV4Dn0 HD: This last one is from an earlier beta test. You'll notice the eva building repair announcement has been reduced in the newer videos above =) VbGPV7Qb-Io HD: --- And of course, there is Kenz's channel showing full rounds of the beta if you want to check them out =D
  9. Could just be youtube compression. For the most part, players are pretty easy to see on most maps. Taking Walls for example, it's pretty easy to spot even a sniper poking it's head over the cliffs from the bases. Field can be a little difficult at times; being set at night and all but I know lower graphical settings can make it easier to see with all the fancy effects turned off.
  10. I really wish there were more good mech games coming out. I hear Hawken (released tomorrow on steam) was turned in to a CoD clone with robots and the impression I got from Mechwarrior Online was rather Pay 2 Win. I am interested in Titanfall but I have very little faith in EA after the Battlefield 4 fiasco.
  11. Empires? It was a mod for Half Life 2 with RTS style commanders and base building with player controlled infantry/vehicle FPS. --- As for myself, I find myself playing single player games a lot more these days. Used to really be in to multiplayer FPS but Since Call of Duty, everything has become rather samey. Also used to be really into RTS games (the base building ones) But there's really only 2 around anymore and one is still in beta. Currently I'm mostly playing Civ 5 and Dark Souls with the occasional game of C&C and Counter Strike: GO... Though mostly only because my boyfriend plays it. Really hoping for a new Fallout game. New Vegas is one of my favourite games of all time but I've played it so much that I can pretty much do a walk through off by heart =P Would also love a new Shenmue or at the very least, HD releases of Shenmue 1 and 2. Hopefully they'll announce something with Yu Suzuki talking about it at GDC this year =)
  12. I know, but if you have a 4vs4 with 4 clan members on 1 team it's very likely that the clan players will inevitably win. How a lot of these test sessions seem to go =P Sadly there isn't much that can be done against clan stacking other than leaving it up to the individual server admins. Friends naturally want to play with each other on the same side and play together. The worst thing they could do would be to actively prevent friends and clans playing together across the entire game and across every server.
  13. I see Renegade X getting a lot of coverage lately but despite the two recent trailers being released, I don't see them up on gametrailers. I know black dawn trailer is up on there, would it not be a good idea to get ren x trailers up there too? =)
  14. Game could also use an autobalance feature similar to this to prevent games becoming 9v5 like it was tonight at one point =P
  15. Happy New Years Ladies and Gents =)
  16. Could be an interesting feature if balanced well. Would make Stealth Tanks more viable as a direct combat vehicle for Nod.
  17. I always enjoyed finding those ways to sneak in to the base without the base defences hitting you, planting the explosives as technician and waiting patiently for the timed explosives to detonate so I could safely blow the building. The waiting always felt forever but the satisfaction of taking down a building singlehandedly was always worth the tension =) Other than that, playing clan matches was always intense. That's when the game really felt like it lived up to the C&C name with each team working together, trying to out-maneuver and countering each others strategies =P
  18. You guys thought about getting this trailer up on Gametrailers.com? Would help getting the attention of a lot of gamers all at once =)
  19. Used to play Renegade a lot when it was first released. Can't really remember what name I used way back then; might have been Dee or something =) Been looking forward to RenX for years =)
  20. Nice Q&A though it is a little shame mapping tools won't be so readily available. Have only really worked with RTS mapping, would like to try some FPS mapping =)
