  1. I'm pretty sure they said at least an hour.
  2. That Bam guy seems strangely familiar. Anyway, for some questions: 1. As much as I like C&C mode, for the sake of diversity will there be game modes in Renegade X that don't feature bases? Perhaps modes like infantry or vehicle death matches? If this is the case will there be dedicated maps for these game modes? 2. I remember hearing how it is planned to have game options to set how each server runs their games. Can you give some examples of some of the options that we will be able to adjust? If you by some chance use my question(s) in a video, you pronounce my name r-315-razor.
  3. "Angus" ..Sounds like a hamburger :V
  4. The last Generals wasn't futuristic? From what I've seen this game looks much more grounded than the last one was... And it's "near future." Within 10 years time.
  5. I actually never even bothered with C&C4's campaign. In fact, I've been feverishly avoiding any videos regarding C&C4 and its story. I have absolutely no idea what happens or how anything concludes... and that's how I want to keep it. Not going to lie, but I did actually have some high hopes for C&C4. Then I played the beta and never looked back.
  6. Just an update, Cire has created a survey for Red Alert music.
  7. Well it's his job as community manager to interact with the community and gain feedback. I guess you could say he is doing it because it's a good way to get some good opinions and feedback from the community.. as well as start a positive discussion on the game's history. He actually already said that he is going to make a Red Alert series soundtrack poll on their forums. (Link: http://www.commandandconquer.com/forums/showthread.php?4312-C-amp-C-Soundtrack-Survey&p=68824&viewfull=1#post68824 ) He also has admitted to missing a few songs on this survey.
  8. EA Cire made that survey. He is just the community manager... he doesn't work on the game. In fact I don't even think he is privy to private info like game development. The survey is specifically asking for favorite songs from the Tiberium universe. He will probably make a survey about the Red Alert universe a little later on. I don't think this is information that should lead you to believe anything about the up coming game. However, if you want my personal opinion, I don't think that the next game is going to be a Tiberium game since the last one was. I also doubt it will be in the Red Alert universe since RA3 is still pretty fresh... but I still give it a little chance that it might be in the RA universe. The next game, in all probability, will be either Generals 2 or a new universe. I'm hoping for a new universe.
  9. I think that the current released version of RenX is fun... but it is definitly not without it's faults. I actually think that it's very far away from really being a top-notch game. However, you have to realize that its a very early beta version of the game and its gameplay. What is it? Version 0.55? It had many things holding it back when it was tied in with UT3. But now that it's free with it's own version of the unreal engine, it can really shine like it was meant to. Black Dawn is going to be such a jump from the game's last incarnation that people are going to ask if they are playing the same game. So, you really shouldn't jump to conclusions based on playing an early version of a multiplayer game with low player counts. You aren't letting it be the best it can be and that isn't a fair way to make a judgement on it.
  10. HA! I knew it was a voice over from someone. I assumed that if it was a voice over, it would have been from Kane (Joe Kucan). Surprised that you got Havoc's voice actor. That's pretty cool.
  11. The poorly balanced settings of one single game out of many is hardly a reason to just the general mechanic as a whole across all games. And you're talking about MW2... which is absolutely nothing like Renegade.
  12. I don't quite think you understand the definition of the word "creative." The weapon limit mechanic has been used in many FPS games for years. Not because the devs are lazy (which is a dumb reason because it takes time to create the code for a weapon limit), not because the devs are lacking creativity, but because weapon limits grant players a better gameplay experience. It's for balance. It lets the developers take a weapon and then truly maximize on it's usefulness. They can't do that if there is no weapon limit. Why? Because if all the weapons are powerful, then someone who gets a hold of a lot of them will ruin the game for everyone else. Meaning, if you want to have a weapon limit, all of the weapons need to be generic and do minimal damage. That way if someone manages to collect an entire armory's worth of weapons, they aren't considered to be an overpowered threat to the game's balance. For every thing you do, there has to be one way to counter it. That's just basic game balance 101. What is "uncreative" is creating 20 weapons and then letting a player carry them all at once because they are too lazy/stupid to plan their attacks ahead.
  13. No it forces you to learn how to think quickly. If you have 50 weapons in your pocket, you then need to waste time thinking "Hmm... which weapon would work best here" where as if you were forced to pick up the weapons you only thought you would need, then it's much easier to select the right weapon for the job since you already thought about it before you even entered the combat area.
  14. I noticed that the new HUD still has a bar for armor. Does that mean that there is now a working difference between armor and health? Does it work for vehicles as well?
  15. I don't understand what the problem is. It was stupid to be able to carry 50 weapons around. ..And in most servers you don't even get weapon drops... so you will never even REACH the limit.
  16. I dunno, I think it's kinda a neat idea. That way we don't get totally OP SBHs roaming around the map with an entire armory in the front pocket.
  17. Oh wow, I forgot all about this mod. It's nice that it's already been released for people to play.
  18. Speak for yourself. I love it when the enemy camps/point whores outside my base. It's one of the best moments in Renegade, imo. When it happens, it's the most satisfying feeling in the game, short of destroying a building on your own, to flank and destroy their position without them knowing what hit them. It's one of the key staples that makes Renegade as awesome as it is and it should in no circumstance the changed to removed.
  19. It would be cool if you could actually see the satellite way up in the sky as part of the firing animation.
  20. The mammoth has a guardian role on the battlefield. It absorbs more damage to allow other friendly units time to advance further. A mammoth tank will do some damage if it is allowed to progress up the field. That's why it is such a big target. Using that to it's advantage, it allows it to absorb enemy fire while other units can move in on enemy positions. That's why proper GDI base rushing formation should always put the mammoth tanks in front of the smaller units that way all base defense damage will be absorbed by the bulky mammoth tanks while the smaller units can run in and do more damage.
  21. For your first question, the mammoth is a big, slow moving slug of a vehicle. It's very easy to hit. It will easily fall against even a single artillery at the right range. As for your second question, the two health bars in Renegade were combined into one here. In Renegade, the mammoth had 600 Health and 600 Armor, in Renegade X it just has one health bar that is 1200. In Renegade, the medium tank had 400 Health and 400 armor, in Renegade X it has 800.
  22. I'll scoop up C&C4 when they pay me to play it.
  23. Some good ideas here. But this one that I quoted is actually already a common game type. You see it in games like Halo. It's called "Assault" and instead of carrying a flag to the enemy base, it's a bomb. But that's really the only difference. It makes sense too... I mean, why would you risk your life to put a flag in the enemy's base? Lol.
  24. To be honest, I never really saw C&C as a multiplayer game. It's always been about the single player. Except for Renegade, of course. Tiberium would have been the same. It should have a multiplayer, but not focus on it. Notice that the C&C games that are geared toward multiplayer tend to suck more *coughcoughTiberiumTwilightcoughcough*
