A lot of things leave bullet holes. But they are black and they are hard to see a lot of times. You can only see it on surfaces that aren't things like dirt or sand. Mainly rock and concrete. But I do think that they should be more visable. I used to use them a lot in the original Renegade. For example, if a sniper fired at me, I would look at the bullet hole the sniper made and then use it to deduce his general direction.

It would be better to make a totally new map that has a similar (but still different ) layout to complex just without vehicles. And I don't mean similar as in the similarity between Hourglass and Horologe. Something that is way different, but has the same idea behind it.
-
Yea, but doing that would reduce other effects that work the same way but actually look halfway decent. The water/dirt kickup that vehicles do is just plain ugly and it reduces performance a lot. I suggest just flat out removing it.

Umm... I have TeamSpeak 3... will I still be able to connect to the TeamSpeak 2 server? Or will I have to downgrade?

Has Havoc89 been given a high-five yet? He really does deserve one.

EST is -4 hours, EDT is -5. EST and EDT are the same timezone just during different parts of the year. EDT (or Eastern Daylight Time) is -5 hours and takes place during the summer half of the year. At the moment, it's still EDT, so -5 hours would be correct. However, next month, on November 7, EDT changes back to EST and -4 hours.

Also, if there was a rule to not allow type killing, it could easily be exploited. For example, you can stand where you can see the enemy base and press the type button so they can see you as typing, but then just scout their forces rather than typing a message.
-
Yea, exactly. Why should I stop what I'm doing and wait for the enemy player to finish typing when all it does it make me vulnerable? Kill him now so he learns not to type in the open and then I get to live for a few more minutes.

Quick! cancel the mod! His stupidity might be contagious.

There seriously isn't a Wiki? That's amazing, I never noticed. Someone should make one. Being that Wikipedia is a free public website that anyone can use and edit pages, I don't think it matters who makes the page. If one of the devs sees something that isn't correct, they only need to correct it themselves.

While that's true, when the missile explodes, it explodes. It doesn't spawn an explosion and then keep falling into the ground

Does this map replace version 2?

Every time something new is added to the server, it prevents me from joining in time. I saw that 5 people were on, so I tried to connect. However, it told me that I had to download these sounds. Since there is some bug that makes the progress bar go away, I never know how long it will take me. Not only that, but once it finishes, it doesn't automatically connect to the server, it just sits there. So, after waiting 15 minutes, I exit the game (because it's frozen) and then go to re-connect. However, at that time I look up and see that everyone has left the server... The extra stuff is cool and all... but they make connecting to the server really hard for me.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm talking about servers that make you download tons and tons of stuff just so you can play. Things like music and mutators that the game doesn't need. I don't want that stuff on my computer. If I did, I would have went out and downloaded it myself. At the moment, I can't even join the MPgaming server because it's forcing me to download some music files. It's a pretty hefty file and it's going to take me a long time to download. Not only that, but I get no progress meter telling me how much I have left to go... so I have to sit there on the main menu for who knows how long just so I can join the server and play. I can understand map updates and advantage prevention... but we don't need a bunch of useless garbage that isn't necessary to the game preventing people from playing on a server.

Well... it did in the original Renegade too, if you recall. Perhaps it was done on purpose as a sort of wink to the fans of the old Renegade?

You're more likely to be typing in a scenario where you're hiding. The idea of this is good, but it is not executed very well. Two things need to be done to make this more useful: 1. Make the icon appear only when you're in the sights of someone else. This way, if someone is aiming at you, then they alone will see that you're typing. This is better because: -You don't have to worry about people finding you when hiding. (Or finding people who are hiding next to you) -You don't obscure lines of sight for everyone who wants to look in your general direction. 2. Change what the icon looks like. Get rid of the word bubble, it looks really dumb IMO. Make it more subtle and more in the style of the current selection boxes (outlines and health bar). Maybe make a little box with an "!" in it and stick it to the left of the name/health bar of the person. It shouldn't be very big. About the size of the text of the unit's name. It should be bright white so it stands out from the name and health bar. Something like this:

The only thing I don't like about that server files = client files system is that the server dictates what the client gets to do. But then again, it was in the original Renegade in some form as well, so it's not really a big problem. I just don't like it when the server I'm playing on decides to add in all this extra crap that changes how the game is played. And then I am forced to play that way. It's not as easy to simply change servers here because there is only one or two servers available with people.

I see what you did there.

The main game mode that's been in the game already. It's also the main game mode in the original C&C Renegade. Two teams have a base. The object of the game is to destroy the enemy team's base while protecting your own.

Start a game, press ESC. Select settings. Go to Input and then on the bottom of the screen there is a button that says "Keys," click it. Then you should be able to map them. For some reason you can't access that screen from the main menu. Unless you're saying that it wont let you remap that button for some reason. In which case, I don't know what to tell you. --- Anyway, I love the update. Characters are awesome. I love the new sniper and the nuke animation. One thing I noticed with the sniper though: why do the shell casings get launched into my face? Shouldn't they get ejected on the opposite side of the weapon? Or is the gun meant to be used lefty?

Nowadays, even though a lot of games have an EA logo on it, it doesn't mean that EA made the game. EA now just commissions other companies to make games. Like Valve and Bioware, etc. It's rare now that EA will actually buy out a company. They already admitted once before that buying out Westwood was a really bad mistake.
