Yeah i like this idea a lot. Maybe like a "warmup" time like some other games do: You can start running arround, do chat etc but then after 30 secs everything resets and the real game begins. -

Yeah this should be a serverside setting. UDK kinda supports voice but only when integrated into a service like Steam. So the voice in the game is designed to work atleast partly through Steam. So this comes down to us beeing able to get on Steam. And still as long as we dont have a word on that from EA there will be no Steam and aslong as there is no Steam there will also be no voice chat unfortunatly. -
I would agree with you to nerf spring but theres quite some BF (where you have unlimited sprint) fans in the dev team so nerfing sprinting isent really going to happen anytime soon i think. Maybe this should get a poll aswell or a serverside option to change the ammount of sprint so server owners could decide themselves so that the community could figure a good setting out on their own. About changing momentum when sprinting: We would like to make it more smooth but dont know how atm. What bothers me more then inf sprinting is vehicle sprint. I hate having to hold down the sprint key while driving vehicles and i think it makes them come back to the frontline too quickly. But not many people seem to complain about that so maybe im alone on that one.

Yeah, this is a big one I'd like to see something done about. Take out the inf barriers at Hon/GDI Ref ? About the other ideas beeing posted ... its very easy to cause information overflow to us and properly thinking about this also takes time and energy so pls dont be disappointed if you dont get an immediate response. We try to keep up with the ideas beeing posted, store them somewhere and try to consider them once we have time to think about them

If you got the correct 3a download and it still doesent work then pls post your log file or send it to me and i´ll take a look. We should be able to figure it out from the log.

I will post the Ren X source later on. You can already get most of the Ren X sourcecode from the cooked packages, thats how some people already made mods and mutators. To ease the process of getting the source i will post it at the weekend, hopefully together with a little tutorial about mutators, if i can find the time. @Genesis2001: Not entirely sure atm what could be your problem as i obviously have a different setup with the whole dev build. Not sure atm/forgot what it will be like when you just have Beta 3 and UDK. I didnt do a mutator like that in years. Will have to look that up again/try it. Maybe it will work for you with the full source package or else its something else you have to do with the inis. My guess is that it might try to recompile RenX_Game and that will never work (and isent supposed to) without the full RenX_Game src, it should only try to compile your mutator package.

Official Harvester and Gunemplacement Mutator V1.0 by RypeL from Renegade X Team http://www.ren-x.com/downloads/RxHarvMod.zip Why: While a Patcher for Renegade X is under development a mutator is another way to fix some issues and so we want to try this out and hopefully this fixes most of the freezing Harvester issues. How to install: 1) Move the RxHarvMod.u into the Renegade X\UDKGame\CookedPC folder 2) add "?mutator=RxHarvMod.Rx_Mutator_SmarterHarv" to the starting command of your server. So it should look something like this: "udk server CNC-Walls_Flying?game=RenX_Game.Rx_Game?mutator=RxHarvMod.Rx_Mutator_SmarterHarv" I added the Sourcecode in case someone wants to see how it was done and how a mutator for Renegade X can look like. The mutator includes the following changes: - The harvester should be less likely to stop moving completly like it did mostly at the GDI Refinary on Walls. If it still freezes you can try pushing it back on its path (like with a Medium Tank) and it should start moving again. We will replace some pathnodes on Walls in the next regular Renegade X update to hopefully completely fix the issue on Walls. - Harverster respawntime increased by 15 seconds - Whiteout Turrets respawntime increased by 30 seconds

It is surprising to me that so far i never saw anyone bringing up a, me thinks, pretty fundamental difference with Ren-X compared to old Ren when it comes to base attacking (i might have been blind though): In Ren-X tanks dont do splash through buildingwalls, so they cant kill the engies inside (unless they are in the lucky but unlikely situation to fire through the door). Currently most of the team seems against integrating that into Ren-X but imho i think it would help with rushes. Especially with killing the narrow Ob/AGT. If not that then we sure need to give attackers something else ... One thing that will most likely be changed is the respawnrate of the harv. Currently if you camp a base and kill the harv it only takes about 5 seconds for it to respawn. So the harv can get annoying when you try to rush a base and can even ruin the rush completly. I think adding like a extra 20 secs to the harv respawntime would help a bit. But thats just a small thing, another is that we are thinking about making EMP disable base defenses. I know that will get some people up in arms, but atm its just a thought and would be an experiment. Also we are thinking of ways we could make a mapmechanics scale a bit to the ammount of players. So if you would have an idea on that pls share aswell. -
Yeah we think it has something todo with buying an SBH in a full server.

As Walls is a pretty popular map would you like to have a variant of it without Apache/Orca/Transport-Heli ?

We currently use the Feb 2014 UDK release. There are newer two newer UDK releases but the only thing they fix really is IOS bugs wich is why we didnt switch to those yet. We dont know what release we will be using for the next beta release. If epic would come up with a release that fixes more then just IOS stuff we will update.

Because the camera and everything is higher in third person so you can see above your character. But from first person the camera is placed at head level hence it's lower aswell as the crosshair.

There is a 'gore' setting in the menu. Im guessing you have that off (its off by default). Only witht that you will be able to pop heads and i guess that also controls if you can turn others into skeletons.

That is by design otherwise the crosshair would be covered by your head in third person. It is just one of the differences of these two modes.

Maybe only let the top 3 of each side initiate a surrender ? Top 3 should mean that they are doing fairly well but if they still vote for a surrender it should be more justified then when someone from the bottom who is just bored initiates it.

Beta 3 launcher takes me to Beta 2 in-game start window

Unfortunatly you have to manually delete the renx folder after deinstalling beta 2 or you will have this issue if you install beta3 in the same folder. How to fix: delete all config files in the config folder that dont start with default or deinstall B3 then make sure you deleted the folder, then install it again. -
If you would be any smart you would know that the QueryPort thingy is and engine thing and that we didnt develop the engine. You think we developed UDK ? If you want to know UDK things rtfm aka documentation on it! And aparrently kostya0shift already figured it out so i dont know what your problem is. Also if you want rcon you can find a topic about it in the server owners section that you already have acces to (and no i dont know why that section is limited to certain users but im trying to convince the guys to make that info open to everyone).

Yes, due to the engine not allowing renx to play properly for everyone on higher player servers. We would need to somehow find big optimizations first.
