Server Join error

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

unfortunately I’m unable to join some servers for unknown reason.

On some i try to join. The game starts but i will just go to main menu and nothing else happens. There is no error no nothing.

When i try to join from ingame also nothing happens.

For example the CT Server wont let me join.

Is there a fix for that?

Thanks

I would suggest checking your logs or uploading them here. It is possible a file might be outdated or there is some sort of client-server file mismatch which would explain you randomly getting kicked from any/a specific server. Verify your game files and try again. The game is supposed to tell you why you are kicked but sometimes there is a weird bug where it basically overrides the message and ends up not displaying it once you're back to the main menu.

All maps are working in skirmish and as i said i can join servers. Just some i cant seem to join.

I verified the data several times and also uninstalled and installed again.

Which logs should i send?

Latest.log in UDKGame/Logs orLaunch.log cant remember what its called. ALso delete everything in UDKGame\Cache

I have this error also on almost all servers.
But Renegade and Renegade launcher are allowed in my firewall.

Is there any other EXE I should be looking for?

Also, should the ingame Server list work?
It has never worked for me :(

Yeah, I have the same issue: clicking "Join" on most servers from in-game server browser just doesn't work as well as joining from the launcher.

I always return to the launcher for the server list.   IDK why there is still the other option.   I think it can be confusing.

TIP:  if you get the sound bug and cant hear anything.   Close game back to the Launcher and restart.

I see nothing in the Log that your Client is trying to join a Server.

It is closing by request instead connecting to an Server ...

is it possible that You eventually have Problems with the Firewall ?

yeah that must be the problem then.

but i try to join.

i didnt play alot before just once when renX was launched first, so i cant imagine that im on a block list.

so any suggestetions? it seams some other users have the same problem.

This doesn't look a firewall issue.

As you can see marked on the screenshot:
Winsock already doesn't understand what @DTtrex's IP is.

Could be that there's something "weird" with your LAN adapter or its IP address(es).
Could be that you're on IPv6 while those specific servers only work with IPv4.
And e.g. DNS64 translation (your IPv6 -> server's IPv4) goes wrong.

Try disabling IPv6 while keeping IPv4 enabled.

If that doesn't work, or if you're afraid of breaking something, then do this:

Spoiler

open up a cmd.exe
make the window longer
type command: ipconfig /all
screenshot all of it and send it in PM
extensive IP info can be mildly hacker-sensitive so better not to upload publicly here

And then we can have a look why Winsock does not initialize with your IP address.
And perhaps get a better idea and/or a more focused solution.

No sry i deleted that information because i considered it private.

Same i did with my locations, PC-name and PC-information.

so that shouldnt be it.

But thank you for your support.

I gues its some kind of strange bug on my side or the servers.

I just accept that i can only play on 50% of the servers.

and unfortunatly there are only very few players left in this game ;(

Oh seriously? And here I thought Winsock couldn't find your IPv4 address.

Oh well, whatever makes you sleep at night, sir/ma'am. :)
That's what we're here for.

Personally I changed my IP and names to something else in my screenshot. (nope my computer name is not "DUGEPC" :P)
To avoid this kind of confusion in logicality while we're working the problem.

Hm yea well... you are getting a "[0061.77] Log: Host name resolution completed"
While I'm not getting that in my log at all.

If I were you I'd double-check if my ISP has switched my modem to strictly IPv6.
And check up on my DNS settings.

But alas you are not me.

Good luck!
