  1. I haven't read through all of this since I'm about to head out somewhere, however, the specifics for such a form would pretty much just be: Screenshots of REPEATED harassment, timestamp optional, but is a nice extra. I don't care about minimum resolutions, like you can crop the image to just show the chat (which is what I'd love to see, since I don't care what your character is doing at that time) File format I also don't really care, it shouldn't be an overcompressed jpeg so, I just want to be able to read the thing properly. Witnesses are also always a nice mention. I also don't mind IRC logs, however I might ask for more detailed logs in that case, so I can investigate the circumstances of that (Which I do actually prefer over screenshots) Keep in mind that this whole thing would be a last resort thing, and you should try to address this to the players personally before escalating this. Some players already react with "Hey, you're going kind of wild. Just relax a little and have some fun, okay?", so you don't even need to report that cause they see the errors of their ways and stop being clowns. And again, REPEATED harassment. Everyone is a cunt once in a while, I'm no exception from that rule.
  2. You mean happy 51st state day
  3. "There's no cure for being a cunt" Some players are just used to call others names cause they dislike pointing the finger to themselves. Sometimes they had a shitty day, hop on RenX to distract themselves and end up being pissed off and stressed even more. And these players let it out on other players to make them either feel just as bad or cause they need a punching bag. What I end up doing with highly toxic players is warn them via psay, if they continue kick them, if they return and continue mute them. And the final step of escalation would be a ban. At least that's my approach as a moderator on CT. I agree that a ban is the most suboptimal solution for this, but how else are we supposed to not let their shitty attitude go to other players OVER, and OVER, and OVER again. Harassment is as Agent said targeted. And people like Algol pick specific people during matches and talk shit over and over and over again. Thus if you want to see a change, just record the bullshit, send it to your favorite Dev (and please don't make it a 1-remark thing) and we'll take care of it.
  4. You can do that with TeamSpeak aswell. You could trace the location via IP-address (roughly), and you can have your ping displayed (lower right corner->show ping). The main advantage I see with TeamSpeak is complete freedom of codecs, I can pick whatever decent/crappy voice codec I want, I can record stuff natively there, as well as the superior permission management. I can decide about the exact rights of users. Now the question is, do you really need those? Discord uses Opus, which is more than good enough, if I need to do recordings I could use an external programm, okay, and I can control groups with relative ease. Discord has the advantage of combining Slack/IRC and TeamSpeak/Skype into one. And they write usability with a capital U.
  5. I don't even know if I should bother trying to lift you of your ridiculous nonsensical hate towards GDI, but just so you stop spreading this nonsense: Patch is anti-infantry. He's made to fuck over LCGs and any sort of infantry. He's useless against any vehicle more expensive than an arty. LCGs are anti-vehicle. They are supposed to annihilate GDI vehicles (which they do incredibly well) and attempt to infiltrate bases. Their huge health pool is a menace for any infantry unit and I more than often catch myself destroying Patches while I'm an LCG. Nods anti-infantry unit is also their infiltration unit, the SBH. His weapons have no spread and barely any recoil. YES. NO. Anti-infantry doing anti-infantry thing. It would suck if he'd be bad against infantry.
  6. Okay, if you're now saying it should be roundabout 150 we're slowly getting to the same page here. I had a little discussion about this yesterday, and I stick to my opinion of only flames and chems since both are imho kind of weak compared to grenadiers and fartlands. Teamdamage shouldn't be in effect. Besides, I'd make the effect pretty little. Say, 25 dmg from the flamer in close proximity, and 20 tiberium damage from the chem.
  7. Calm down Michael Bay. Oh boy, I could imagine already Raveshaws sitting on top of mammoth tanks, just melting them since killing the raveshaw would pretty much result in the mammoth tank being blown to smithereens, so everyone can just slowly watch the mammy die lol. Yeah... Good that you added this only affects players. Otherwise I'd be just saying "Lemme just stand right next to this MCT here, thank you." But even still, this would make infiltration very very painful. Even when spotted, a dead hotwire suddenly rips apart an entire repair squad in a chain reaction. A hotwire explodes, killing the tech whom detonates, who blows up the tech next to him etc etc. Besides, if you'd let repair units explode on death this would negate the idea of "let repairs hide behind vehicles so they are safe from death", since every driver would just abandon their repairs cause they wouldn't want their tanks to be blown up by their own repairs. I think I've already brought up enough examples as to why nobody should write a mutator for this, since this would just rip balance apart like Schwarzenegger does to phone books. However, I wouldn't mind this: I don't remember if this was true in OG Ren MP, but in SP they definetly had some splash on death. At least chems. Freaking annoying. However, that would give them an interesting buff if it'd only affect enemies, forcing players to kill flamers and chems on distance, otherwise they'd be punished for their sloppiness. (If anyone wants to make a mutator that makes every infantry class just burst into a colorful explosion (without damage), I would love to see this for April fools on CT.)
  8. Team Me vs. Team Jeff Round 1 - Tunnels: Round starts with your average "Who can defend his harvester?"-battle. Both teams lose their initial harvester as well as the one after. Nod pumps out arties, as well as repairs, while GDI gets a couple of MLRS and mediums right after. After multiple flanking attempts by GDI, which were surprisingly damaging to Nods attack efforts, Nod regains momentum and pumps out more arties and stanks. First falls the PP, then refinery, GDI surrenders and gets finished off by a swarm of vehicles. Round 2 - Mesa (aka. oh boy, what would YOU expect here?): Once again your average race for the harvester with a pint of silo happens. While Nod successfully destroys GDIs harvester first, GDI claims the silo for itself, and after a daring chase for the harvester Nod lost theirs too. What ensued was your average "Who can fill the field faster" with GDI pumping APCs and Gunners and Nod pumping arties and techs. Your average Mesa fight breaks out, clashing back and forth, with Nod trying to use flame tanks and light tanks on the long route to engage GDI troops, however those were intercepted by units crossing the bridge. A building after the other falls, Nod surrenders. Round 3 - Crash Site: I don't even remember the exact details due to the length of the match. Nod had the Silo early on, it was a constant struggle for both Silo and Abandoned Weapons Factory, with some infantry going through the ship. After Nod losing the Airstrip to infiltration and GDI losing the refinery to bombardment, Nod started draining out GDIs funds by wiping vehicle after vehicle, while GDI effortlessly destroyed most of Nods vehicles. But thanks to the abandoned weapons factory, Nod could always keep up two titans and a couple of wolverines. After a prolonged siege while Nods forces attacked with infantry, GDI lost building after building, surrendering in the process, accelerating Nods victory. 3 Me - 0 Jeff Good games, Crash Site took the longest, all games were somewhat interesting individually, even Mesa, due to the opposing team still trying to do extraordinary strategies.
  9. Even though the GDI one is still WIP, it looks freaking great dude
  10. But I like silenced weapons that go *tok tok* and not *pew pew*
  11. I really can't tell if this is a troll-post or not. If it isn't, can you elaborate how exactly 144 Hz unbalances the game? Especially since most players run this game on ~60 FPS so Hz literally doesn't make a change.
  12. I sometimes forget that I bought a vehicle and get mad at others when it gets stolen
  13. As much as I'm a fan of people proving their skill via YouTube or Streams, it's rather easy to hide UIs from cheat software and anyone with half a brain could pull that off. However, I'm giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. As long as someone is not proven to be a cheater, they aren't. Nobody needs to prove a point. Unless you have decisive evidence against you, you can't be banned. If we detect scripting, cheating, hacking however the hell you call it (e.g. obtaining a weapon which should be unavailable to you - or shooting with inhuman speed with the help of script, which otherwise wouldn't be possible) then you will be punished. That's just my perspective as a moderator on CT. Abandoning a game based on the fact that you've been banned from one server is kind of funny, however understandable since CT is pretty much the only active RenX community. Speaking of which, where did the Dragon clan go? Or MPF?
  14. Try using OBS. It has incredible local record capabilities.
  15. Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is available for FREE until 5 PM GMT/UTC: http://store.steampowered.com/app/219640/ Just press on "Install" and you own the game permanently (Just as it was with Portal and PAYDAY: The Heist) Perhaps we could assemble a nice group after one of the PUGs for that game?
  16. I LOVE IT! I'm glad that you added my epic hotwire jump into the airstrip in the Lakeside scenes ^-^
  17. You're fired (and drunk)
  18. A bit of caution, as I see the Master Servers for the original are down, so we'd need to settle with Remastered.
  19. Oh snap, I've seen footage of a gamemode on ArmA II based on that stuff. I'm all in for that. Looks hilarious and sounds hilarious. If we can assemble enough people this will be fun.

    IDEAS

exists (see Fort) What mutant vehicles and what mutants? Acolytes, Visceroids? What vehicles and what soldiers? There's concepts for that going back and forth, there's not yet an established, balanced, idea for that (if i recall correctly) What's so special about the cyborg?
  21. I swear the fuckmount of screaming and cheering for the destroyed Refinery gets me laughing violently Good PUG, can't remember half of it, except that I almost broke the airstrip in Lakeside and had some fun tanking around.
  22. You probably would want this: https://renegade-x.com/files/category/2-renegade-x/ This is the current version, which is Beta 5, unless you EXPLICITLY want beta 4 (For which I don't know if there's still links ghosting around?)
  23. In my opinion, the PIC units fit the commando role pretty decently. Good amount of damage against vehicles (Not too much against heavy, noticable against light vehicles), capability to oneshot infantry, capability to solo a building (hit the MCT 12-13 seconds before timed goes off), nice infiltration assets (EMP grenades). Honestly, giving the Hotwire/Techs just one timed and give the other timed to the PICs would be pretty interesting. Snipers shouldn't be the commando class, as their primary objective is anti-inf, whilst PICs are literally "Anti-Armor"
