I think this would cause a lot of complaints.
How about if there's a short delay 0.5 - 1 seconds before it can be detonated from the time of placing? This way it would still be possible to strategically detonate remote C4 in real-time when countering incoming enemy rushes.
I don't see how it's much different from what you just said.

Force engineers to run (if sprinting) when they have remote C4 selected.
Apply a safety that prevents remote C4 from being detonated if the player is still in the blast radius.
Apply a small negative points penalty for every player suicide to deter engineer suicide bombings.
Make remote C4 heavier and reduce the current throwing distance by 1/3 - it's twice the size of timed C4.
I don't undertand what you are trying to say with #1.
#2 would be a bad change.
#3 This is ok.

Why not just make a delay of, let's say, 3 seconds between you pushing the mouse to detonate and the actual detonation?
Any enemy infantry can easily back off. Of course this means that they need to persist for a few seconds after a player's death.
However, this also makes the engineer quite a lot worse as a unit.

I really don't understand why you would make the snipers weaker and I have never heard anyone (good players) complain that they are overpowered. It makes no sense that a headshot doesn't kill.
This is renegade, renegade is supposed to have plenty of snipers and it really isn't that hard to avoid getting hit by them. People who complain about them should just learn to play, never stand still and always keep moving or hiding behind something just like in reality. bullets kill.

"Laptop" can be anything from a worthless piece of crap to an overpriced mediocre system.
"Smoothly" is also highly subjective.
And of course everything depends on the resolution you want to play in.

As far as hotwires with sidearms go, I always thought hotwires should have their abilities re-appropriated because they will always be overused if not overpowered as long as they both repair everything the best and are the only unit with the chance to instakill a building, as well as mining a base.
Hm... Since the devs wanted the Sakura/Havoc to be retooled into commandos/building killers, how about giving them the engineers' remote C4? Maybe give the engineer units something else for that, like 2 free short-fuse grenades.

Works all fine on my end with the launcher update.
I think the new armor interface is looking pretty good. Hopefully this means it'll get more popular on the more populated servers. It's a great feature.

The fact that they can maneuver around while sniping and still has great accuracy is quite disturbing though. It's also unrealistic for a sniper to jump around in tight spot at tunnel, possibly capable of pwning close range specialist.
You are bringing up an interesting point.
But hampering a sniper's mobility would just turn them into even bigger campers.

I think they don't fit into the game at all.
I thought that back in the original and I still think so.
And to be honest, I can't come up with a way to make them not be annoying camperkids.
What about giving all ammo a bleed effect that deal the same damage, instead of the instant damage? If you get hit for 100, 50 damage would be instant and the other 50 damage would be dealt in 3 seconds? Would this be reasonable?
I don't see any reason why this should be implemented.

You will get auto blocked for a few mins if you try and ping the server
If he just was using the launcher, he didn't use a ping command to check if the server is up.

Speaking of Mesa: the mini-map still hasn't been updated and shows the power plants and barr in their old locations/position. Nevermind that though, I wouldn't be against the idea of reverting to the previous version of Mesa.
Absolutely. Pre-current mesa was much more fun to play.
But that map has been controversial with the community for some reason.

As for anything involving Havoc/Sakura... I woudn't be too shocked if the Ramjet wasn't even in the final release.
I actually wouldn't mind either. Do we have anything in mind to replace the ramjet? I mean, maybe Havoc/Sakura could be the commando infantry the devs wanted them to be in like beta 4, make them start out with autorifles, but allow them to pick up any three weapons they might find in the field?
And make the ramjet a crate exclusive weapon? Because it's kind of iconic in renegade.

That seems not related to your problem at all, so why be so agressive about it?
You can try disabling all the stuff in the configuration files and hope for it to start.
"Card name: AMD Radeon R7 200 Series" is not really saying much.
Could be a really low end GPU that won't run this game well anyway or could be an OK GPU.
If you look into the thread with the min. req. specs, you would have found a few people on page 3 with your problem that are also on WinXP:

I'm not TOTALLY against this. Especially for automatics anyway, though I do like the LCG having some form of dominance still.
You could take away headshot damage from LCG, but increase the overall damage.
Basically making it the ultimate pray'n'spray weapon.
Gunners should have their splash against infantry returned to what it was before, but keep the damage the same. They're useless against infantry atm.
Which is exactly what they should be.

Judging by those two low-res pictures, it seems as if the GDI entrance isn't much different, but the Nod one now is like an open invitation to shoot Obelisk, HoN and airfield.

And Tier 1 I would say APCs+Buggies only. You can APC rush, and you still have Anti-air + an armored unit to make a wall with.
This sounds good.
Though, airdrops are so rare now anyway, they don't seeem to have much of an impact anyway.

Having customization to some to degree is a wonderful thing.
And not letting hosters adjust some settings to their liking will probably just make them turn away from the game.
I personally don't care if a server has a mine limit of 40 or 60 as long as it's reasonable and not too high/low.
