  1. I like this idea. I'd be willing to host an Official server of each type and it will have no affiliation with CT or any other community other than the RenX official community. Yes please. I don't care about communities. I just want to be able to play the game with stability. To me the community that matters is...the RenX community.

  3. EKT just went down again. Amazing protection on the server. Sure glad I can actually play this game. Edit: About half the players playing the game just decided to not even join a server again. Just lost half the current player population.
  4. EKT is getting ddosed multiple times a day. Tmx just dies instantly when it fills. This is getting pathetic considering there is a server that can withstand it.
  5. Yah. I was thinking about the spawn points like that too. Either some apc or fancy parachute in. Or give the map some type of objective in the middle that helps end the game or wins the game.
  6. Meanwhile the ConstructiveTyranny server has mitigation that doesn't blacklist legit clients (like EKT) and has survived countless attacks already. We unfortunately don't have a group of dedicated monkeys to seed our server though. Yes, I did. I have a solution and IT WORKS! This game is dying because of the stubbornness of the current communities. Instead of working together on a solution, they're too busy pushing their servers just to feel good when it gets players on it. There isn't going to be much to feel good about when nobody's playing the game because it's too shitty of an experience getting DDOSed all the time. Seriously. Need to stop protecting our precious community servers and go to ones that actually work. Agree 1000%
  7. Please allow two stanks to merge together into a Starkon. It could say something like "Stealth overwhelming!" I think this will be a good addition of strategy and teamwork to the game.
  8. Mesa, Goldrush and eyes all have the same problem? Could be useful for thinking of what it is. I know Mesa and Eyes I both got lower fps on. All three are decent sized maps with semi-long harvy routes. Mmm. No idea.
  9. Community dev section doesn't have much to do lol. Mostly it's just secret talks about how to give Havoc more sex appeal. Problem is...community/community devs can come up with as many ideas or bugs as they want. There's not enough man power to implement the changes or fix things. It's also hard to convince people that it's worth working on something for free when the game is barely alive. As far as changes, I still think the game needs to change a lot if you want to attract new players. I've played this game for so long and realize now that it's so flawed. I really don't see why anyone except C&C or Renegade fans would want to play it. I've enjoyed the game, but the more I play the more it just frustrates me. It's also way too customizable. It's not I'm going to play RenX. It's I'm going to play xxx server's version of RenX. Every server is so different. But changes take manpower and there's not much of that. Not even sure if people would want them. The majority of people left playing just want Renegade. Eh, just my opinion though.
  10. I'm of the opinion that if you want more players, the game needs to be made more fun. I like RenX, but it still has some pretty glaring issues that aren't fun. A lot of the annoying bugs have been cleaned up recently which helps, but I still find the game play lacking. I'm still of the opinion that the best thing for this game would be a merge of aow and marathon. Get a progression system set up and only end the game in a definite way (not time limit).
  11. Islands has infinite money with the ref. Shortest harvy dump ever. Why would it need more money? Walls has a fairly short harvester route too which is right in front of your base. Volcano I could see as a maybe since the harvester is so easy to camp, but not that big of a deal.
  12. Yah. Something like this would help AOW. Although it would be better to merge AOW and marathon, but that's a lot of work. 1500 should be fine. Points system is honestly pretty bad overall. Startfire afk and suddenly you're #1 on the scoreboard. Not that I want an overhaul, would much rather get rid of point victories.
  13. Honestly, sounds like a lot of work for very little gain. I can probably count the amount of times I would have used this on one hand.
  14. @_ERROR_: Even with mesa being playable again, it still (most likely) has a rare crash that caused all the clients to disconnect randomly. Has existed for a long time which has given mesa a bad name. Besides that mesa has always been a like it or hate it map kind of. Lots of people disliked the original and the current. Besides that, the original mesa wasn't bad. It had it's problems, but they were fixable. I still liked the map. I haven't played the new mesa enough to really comment that much to be honest. People still avoided choosing it and then yoshi broke it.
  15. I have this same issue on 1280x1024. During warmup the text is off the screen and I can't see people talking. After warmup it is fine.

Fine since you take damage. -Base-to-base airstrikes (e.g. islands) Ok or not ok? Still base to base. Not allowed. -Arty shooting GDI ref @ Islands, wayyy back in the field on islands. Ok or not ok? Should be fine. -"Wall climbing" where it is obviously not designed to be accessible by foot. Ok or not ok? Depends on what it is. -Nuke-spam. (one nuke every 2-3 minutes) Ok or not ok? Shouldn't be a problem, but I think ekt and tmx have rules against spamming them. -Vehicle "stealing". 2 or 3 players rush a field-crate (same team). Player 1 reaches the crate first and e.g. a Titan dropped. Player 2 or 3 get in that Titan as player 1 has to "search" for it. Ok or not ok? Jerk move, probably would be frowned upon. -Nuking WF on the "suicide spot" (behind the air vents on the roof, jumping down in that dark area) Ok or not ok? Should be fixed. -Ion on top of the airstrip control tower, behind the glass, on that edge/ridge. Ok or not ok? Completely fine.
  17. Honestly these look like interesting map features rather than bugs. Would love them to stay. I'm all for more ways to move around instead of choke points. @bro: make a separate thread or bump one that exists. Pretty off topic.

  19. Agree with yosh. Tech tree/upgrades/something to increase a teams power is the way to go. Convert the game to a single game mode that only ends by base destruction, but add methods to allow a team to finish the game. Should solve the whole AOW/Marathon split too. Maybe convert the point system/tweak it to buy things with. Lots of work to do something like that though. Building armor is cool, but I don't know how much it will solve. The main problem of stalemates isn't the max hp of the building, it's the 6 hotties inside repairing all the time. I guess it would make some maps brutal like whiteout. 50% max hp means less time to get to it to repair. Just switch building targets and you'll get something eventually. All building armor does is give less time to react to attacks, guess that's not a bad thing. This game is based on an RTS, so I would love to see more strategy added. I think renegade has lots of untapped potential. Commander mod is a really interesting step in the right way. Now we just need more things to use for strategies. Instead of forcing the game to end after xxx time, I would much prefer to see game mechanics that help you win for doing well. If a team is 15k points ahead (not that points mean much), then they probably deserve something to help them.
  20. Yes. Goldrush in particular becomes quite broken if a mammoth decides to sit in front of the bridge. I would like this change.
