  1. Will the patches be autodownloaded or will we have to grab them ourselves? This too. Nod players just tell you to shut up and stop crying when they pull that nonsense, but call you out on it when they get the same treatment on their ref.
  2. It's dark times like these where I refrain from trying to get an absurd amount of kills (last game in Marathon Field yielded a 77-3 k/d for me, but it was mostly from arties and airstrikes). At least there weren't any allegations from that.
  3. Good luck doing that if you've lost buildings. Unfortunately once you've gotten a building kill or two there is no incentive for to actually finish the job vs. simply point whoring to victory. I agree that in an even situation there is no reason you can't eventually push out. But at the same time there shouldn't be an incentive to point whore over attacking for the purpose of killing buildings. It really depends on which building you've lost, though if you lose any in the early game, chances are you've already been defeated. Nah, I sort of disagree with you on the first point. At least from the games I've played, the majority of teams finish the job just so we can move on to the next map. The only time I've seen that happen is probably when I was on Walls and we got their ref early; we had to point whore to an extent since they just decided to camp all day. At least until they were starved of credits. For your second point, tell that to most players on both sides when it comes to Field. Maybe they want to up their status on the ladder?
  4. I've read a topic similar to this on an older forum and the issue is in the other team if they cannot dislodge the campers. I've played various games where I entered the game as Nod and GDI was camped right outside our entrance and a planned rush of arties/airstrikes took care of the problem quickly.
  5. The ref one needs to be fixed ASAP. It's being misused to absurd levels by SBHs.
  6. They should remove the shotgun trooper and replace him with the rocket soldier. And from there, make the shotgun a sub-weapon...though I can't imagine the abuses that the SBHs would use from this.
  7. Mesa 2, Field, Islands. The new ones just don't really stand out to me.
  8. Good luck trying to get more than 7 votes anyways.
  9. Oh, that explains why I couldn't buy any airstrikes now...I thought the system was glitched or something.
  10. First got a taste of Tiberian Dawn when I was a mere lad at the age of 4. Of course, I watched the son of my babysitter play (didn't live with parents as a kid so those were some special moments). And since then, my addiction of C&C lasted to this day, all thanks to Renegade X. Only years later when I got my hands around the C&C collection (not TFD) did I start wasti-I mean, spending hundreds of hours with Renegade. Big fan of oldschool shooters too, such as Doom, Quake, and Unreal Tournament. I swear, I'll never get bored of them in spite of how old they are. I play League too, but not to the level of where everyone else is downright obsessed with it. As for handhelds, I've got a limited edition 3DS. It fulfills my gaming needs on the go.
  11. That mod is still alive? Wow, haven't heard anything from it in years.
  12. The MRL's lock-on ability comes in really handy at times. The physics of it in old Ren are glitchy at best, since most of the time, only 2-3 rockets manage to actually track the target.
  13. *points to sig* Used to be a frequenter on Jelly Marathon until 2012, but went AWOL for a while because of university.
  14. ^would like to know if this is possible too.
  15. Ah, I see. Thought it was a graphical kink on my part since my brother's lower-end system didn't have it.
  16. I thought that too, I guess he hasn't experienced 8+ hour games of Under or Field on Renegade. Apart from that I found it a pretty good review. Try 12 hours, lol. Remember playing one on Jelly Marathon until the server ultimately decided to crap out and reset itself.
  17. Flame and Chem troopers are lot more powerful in Ren X, since they had some laughable and deceptive hitboxes in the older games.
  18. Here's a screenie I took from a skirmish game: If you notice the corners, there's distinct shades of black. Is it a graphical effect that can be adjusted?
  19. Was that why flaming infantry was banned, at least in most servers?
  20. Certain maps such as Whiteout were very choppy for me, but not unplayable. Then there are ones such as Walls that are extremely smooth.
  21. I took one with Steam's screenshot uploader. Seems like it does show up there. Also, it seems like that if I view the image (in game) from a different angle, the shade seems to disappear. It was a bit more serious before but after adjusting some options in the visuals tab, it seems to become less noticeable, but it's still there. Now I'm stumped.
  22. Hey everyone, I've been running Renegade X for quite a bit and I noticed that there's four distinctive shades of black that appear around the corners of my monitor in-game. Does anyone know how to remove them? I'm positive that it's not a hardware/software issue since it's only present in-game.
  23. The tactic was banned on a lot of Ren servers back in the days. It is a dirty but funny tactic, I'll admit. Though do note, by doing so, you'll deprive your team of mines that they need to defend the base with.
  24. Pay attention to your buildings' health, and don't ignore requests for buildings to be repaired! I've had many instances where I was in a full server and I was the only one repairing the war factory on field when it was at ~40% health. Repairing buildings is much more worthwhile than kills, in terms of getting points and credits. Don't ignore this. That, and a dead Havoc/Sak is insignificant compared to the steaming rubble of your war factory. If you want to buy a vehicle yet it's at the limit, don't just sit around in the base and wait. Get a Hotwire/Tech/heavy infantry and help the frontlines! Your contribution can easily mean a fast win or losing the field. As a vehicle pilot, defend those repairing you by shielding them from direct damage. Especially from arties/MRLSes. If you're GDI, never, ever get out of your vehicle in the field for whatever reasons. SBHs will easily hijack your vehicle; if you absolutely need repairs, fall back a bit and call for backup, or get out of your vehicle, repair in short bursts, and hop back in in quick intervals. Even if you lose the vehicle to enemy fire, it's better than giving the Noddies a free Mammoth Tank. This also applies to Nod, though they don't have the risks of being jumped by invisible men. Each unit, regardless of class and costs, has its own uses. If you're a Havoc, don't underestimate a competent Black Hand Sniper. Keep a good sense of battlefield awareness. If you suspect that there's a SBHs nearby, shoot the area around you. GDI soldiers are good for 'marking' Stealth Tanks and SBHs, as shooting them will cause their cloaks to disrupt for about a second or so.
  25. So welcoming to see many supporters of Nod here. Rejoice, brothers!
