  1. I like the slow reload speed for the Ramjet now. Makes it a LOT more balanced since the old Ramjet was ridiculous-twice the firepower of a sniper rifle AND faster reload at the cost of slightly decreased firing speed? Never liked that weapon as someone who frequented with the run-of-the-mill sniper. The only fact I see it to be a perfectly reasonable weapon is an anti-arty weapon.
  2. I have the same issue at times. I alt+tab out of the game and the game never seems to respond immediately. My brother's running his game on a lower end system and he doesn't get this issue.
  3. I always used to get a good laugh out of that in old Renegade. Even if you disarm it at the last millisecond, the sight of the rocket vanishing into thin air is hilarious (and a good way to mock the other team too, I'll admit).
  4. GDI was always at a disadvantage, especially on maps with no base defenses. SBHs would inevitably get in without too much trouble, and their constant beacons would force your team to continually attack and defend at a steady pace. Nod still has their worries, but at least they don't have to worry about invisible people walking into their base. Also, old Renegade's arty was even more powerful. There was literally no way to stop a well-supported column of them; which made games such as Field extremely unbalanced and one-sided at times. GDI could attempt to push out with 7 mammoths and they'd be flash fried in almost a blink of an eye due to the sheer damage that the arties are pushing out.
  5. I only resort to the carbine/machine pistol if I'm playing an engineer/Hotwire/technician. The AR is a beefy weapon for what it's worth, and unlike old Ren, it retains its usefulness even in the late-game phases.
  6. Tech using his repair gun on the enemy barracks thinking it'll damage it. Really, I saw this happen just today on Walls Flying.
  7. Renegade without the boink sound? I smell heresy.
  8. It was even more ridiculous in the first game, especially with the titanic blast radius that remote C4s give. But that's what arties are for!
  9. I'm pretty neutral in terms of my stance on airstrikes because as a longtime player of Renegade, certain maps in the old game make it very difficult to break out if the enemy locks you in. Field is usually the culprit for these situations; if there's a trio 1000 dollar snipers on the far side of the field popping everything that walks out of your base, you're not driving them out without a big tank or a skilled sniper of your own. And don't even get me started on breaking out of the base in the old game. The success relies more or less on the stupidity of the other team while hoping your own team doesn't do anything dumb in the process.
  10. Man, I'd feel sorry for those folks if it was old Ren considering they wouldn't even see the Stealths coming until it was like 4 feet in front of them.
  11. I welcome it. Plenty of things to shoot at both in the field and tunnels...but I can't say the same thing about the horrendous lag that may come with it...
  12. Gamefaqs's Renegade Forums is always an option, though it's pretty quiet and deserted.
  13. That I agree with, though whiners should change. They're welcomed to leave, of course. Old Ren's community wasn't exactly the best out there but ehh...it's definitely a breath of fresh air compared to most mainstream game communities out there.
  14. I welcomed the airstrike option because it's certainly a niche way to break out of your base if the enemy team has you boxed in, the latter of which happens a lot (especially on maps like Field and Under). There should be a slight price increase, that I agree with.
  15. Stealth Tanks somewhat lost their stealth factor (heh) considering they leave dust trails now.
  16. Perhaps a tutorial like Multiplayer Practice from old Ren, but instead, it teaches the in-depth and advanced tricks that the old dogs of the original have nailed to their back of their heads? One tip: the most expensive characters and units aren't instant game over cards for your opponent.
  17. Good old times. But hey, having a pack of newbies that don't realize their own timed will kill them in spite of the fact FF is off is better than having a completely dead community; because that's what vanilla Renegade is at the moment.
  18. SBHs were much harder to counter in old Renegade since you needed a lot of map awareness to actually find them. And since engineers/techs/Hotwires are anything but defenseless now with the new sidearms...SBHs will have their work cut out for them.
