  1. Great post. Hope you stick around / pop in once improvements have been made.
  2. This would also be a great mode to introduce new weapons/vehicles/upgrades/other assets to try out.
  3. There is no way to implement any strategy, you walk out and there's the enemyies base, where's the room for strategy? It basically plays like a MOBA, each side sends guys till one side pushes close enough to hit the base. Get on a smaller server, find some people that know how to play, and then work some strategy together. Some old-time friends and myself have already done this to great success. Remember that though the game RenX is based off of and the core player-base are hardened veterans, RenX is in its first week of open beta, and hordes of players who have no idea how to play have filled the servers. You'll find you learn a lot more, and you generally play with smarter players, on some of the smaller servers. Once the game is stabilized, then there will I'm sure be clanwars starting up, and from past experience in C&C Renegade, those required a lot of strategy and timing. tldr; Be patient while kinks are worked out, and try smaller servers.

  5. Good press for Renegade-X, but "Westwood’s ugly, awful and ill-fated first-person shooter set within the Command & Conquer universe." < what? Sounds like someone who's never logged a minute of multiplayer.
  6. Then I don't know what to tell you, use the angles? Or are you talking about the bullet spread?
  7. I've had this happen at least 3 times now: myself or an ally disarms a beacon with more than 10 seconds to go on its countdown, in zero-lag conditions, and...it doesn't disarm. It just keeps counting and destroys the building. A lot of times the beacon(s) before and after the buggy one disarm perfectly fine..but when it costs you a building, it's a tad frustrating.
  8. I'll make another one: some kind of visual cue that you are taking damage, perhaps just a *small* bit of red/blood around the screen edges. Just enough to make you aware without having to glance at your screen in the middle of a fight. Agree/Disagree? ^

  11. Press 'v' to see your teammates credits/location. Agreed on both points. Some number/icon that would show how many spots are taken and how many total spots there are would be great. The green/red thing is stupid, and should just be red/yellow always.I have to go right now, but as soon as I get back I'll add y'alls input to the OP so we don't get repeats.
  12. The air units definitely require a different style than in C&C Ren, it's much more opportunistic than before - to be honest I'm really enjoying that aspect of it. They can have a huge influence in swinging a fight, but in the end they're a DPS-support, not something that can carry the team, which is what I believe they were intended for. A well driven stank crushes a mammoth atm, as long as it has obstacles around which it can duck and weave. Try using the 'F' key to get the machine-gun view. It's amazing.
  13. The apache is about...everything, it's just kickass haha. I think both could use a bit more speed in all directions, but the maneuverability seems close to dialed in imo, it makes you fly them smart. A bit more up & down, and a bit more rotating speed would solve it.
  14. Agreed. They should have less range than the med, considering they're only 100 more and have stealth + very high DPS. Agreed. These three fixes would do wonders: Increase ORCA payload to 3 or 4 missiles (with that shitty gun, their missiles SHOULD be better than apache missiles) Increase apache and orca range by 5-8m Decrease stank range by 10-13m
  15. If they're playing such bad defense that they don't kill you a) When you're planting the beacon and b) When you're planting the airstrike, then they deserve to die. Like you said, it's a huge risk, but if you can pull it off then you deserve it.
  16. Glacier's creator won't let the team remake it, so that's a no-go. All the others will make it in eventually, says the dev team.
  17. Actually you can walk from tunn to AGT in Field, I've watched this happen multiple times already. Can't wait for Under.

  19. That's about right. Then you just go F# it, and kill the enemy base on your own! Only victory better than that is a well-fought marathon/clan battle.

  21. My impressions so far: it's a great feature. Frustrating when you get it used against you, but definitely adds to the strategy. Two things I would say: - Increase visibility of the laser; you should have to be blind to miss it, then people have to think about where they use it from before it hits. - Increase the time to strike by 2-3 seconds. Between this time increase and the highly visible laser, I think it would be balanced so that you had to think about using it but it would still be very useful/feasible. I don't know what y'all are talking about 'not being able to use it on defense'...I was able to use it quite successfully to beat off a couple NOD flame rushes on Field earlier tonight by targeting the AGT etc. If you went this route, you could make it an AC-130 and let the team shoot it down if they really focus fire.
  22. Having flown both the apache and the orca, and driven the stealth tank...I'm really not seeing the balance with these three. When I drive the apache/stank, I feel sorry for other vehicles because the matchups vs anything out there (except maybe a pic) is just not fair. The ORCA makes me want to punch a wall. Here's my summary after playing 6-7 hours today, what are y'alls opinions? Am I bad and should feel bad or have you had similar experiences? Apache: - Better gun than orca - 3x the missiles of the orca (huge advantage even with less damage, as you have a lot better chance of hitting them. Perhaps you could make a risk vs reward argument if the orca had 3-4, but as is, the ORCA sucks.) Stealth Tank - Does amazing amounts of damage with tomahawk-range missiles + good tracking for air units. The ORCA is effectively zoned out of whatever area a decent stealth tank is currently inhabiting. The Apache/MRLS and Apache/Mammoth relationships are nowhere near this unbalanced.
  23. I remember you. I went under a different name then, but RenStation was so legit. Favorite server by far. Haha {DoA} represent! I remember playing y'all a few times, those were fun days. I might have been F15pilotX at that point though.
  24. Mine's at 42% (where it normally is for everything I do) and it sounds perfectly fine. Maybe your computer settings?
