There's a few probelms with the nuke right now. -The nuke really just seem outright glitched and often impossible to disarm. -The timer for a nuke is confusing, both in seconds (with the last 10 being impossible to disarm, which actually makes it quite confusing for a lot of people) -The audio cue for the beacons is quite bad. In Renegade, it was very clear how the sound changed, but it doesn't change that way in Renegade X. It goes up a bit but then kind of stays in the same rhythm until its too late. The problem quite simply is even informed I have a problem knowing how much time is left to disarm and too often I've seen 10 engineer on a rooftop fail to disarm a nuke.
-
I expected both to have that problem, to be honest. Silos are so obviously a snowball feature and I really don't like them. Its actually incredibly obvious.

Vehicle cap is really annoying. 10 is the max the game allows, and it should be used more. 64 players and 10 vehicles sounds fine.
-
Its possible for a player to screw the harvester on purpose when the opposite team got field but mostly its done for griefing. Not that it couldn't be a pathing issue. I have noticed however, in Lakeside, the Nod harvester just sitting there at the refinery, not moving. Nothing blocking him, he just stopped there.

Unfortunately RenCorner is really lagging a lot. Actually, the only 64 player server that was playable for me was Jelly. The others were in over their heads, I would dare say. Sucks, but its my experience so far.

If you have a Nvidia card, you can put a FPS limit via MSI Afterburner.
-
Well this is an unusual complaint... lock your FPS at 30 or something <-< Youtube videos are 30 FPS max, maybe thats that.

I hate airstrikes right now. They get spammed like hell at the right time and its just ridiculous, and they cover beacons like there's no tomorrow. To be completely honest, I would make airstrike impossible to do in the enemy base, period. All the problems comes from this and they really, REALLY worsen the game. Well, thats what I experienced anyway. Its also annoying how spammable they are, and how hard to see, but I really found the spam over the base or beacons the worst.

I don't actually think I agree. I find it quite good, however the recoil is annoying (I always hated recoil, sorry), its hitbox seems small and its really a weapon that requires a lot of accuracy, and it also has spread if you hold the fire button too long (that should not be in Renegade, if you ask me). In general, though, it seems improved from the original, but maybe thats just how movement in general was nerfed in terms of dodging and its easier to hit people as a result with automatics.

I'm not sure that makes any sense. If the characters can be handled the way they are, why not vehicles? With prediction and all that. Heck I swear that when you lag, your maximum vehicle speed is actually lower. There's definitely something wrong here. It should -not- be this way. To be honest, I have more quirks about vehicles than that in the first place. Handles weirdly, have to let go of Forward to turn any decent amount, aircrafts have no agility whatsoever... (especially up and down, its incredibly slow, the Orca is the worst in all aspect, it should at least go up down a lot better)

My point was that if they wanted to nerf it (the ramjet), it didn't actually work -> I mean as far as the crosshair is concerned. Its something bothersome instead. Its not about the balance. I don't know how else to say it.
-
There was nothing about balance in there, just how it is to use certain things and experience the maps, etc. If I wanted to go there, I believe balance is very, very, very messed up and a lot of things are completely out of place. But its early.

I guess I should try upping the brightness on that map, however on some maps its already very bright.

Since this is a Beta, this is the time to bring up issues. -Crosshairs for advanced high cost weapons (ramjet, PIC, railgun) does not have a dot in the center, yet the weapon has 100% accuracy. Unfortunately, this is incredibly easy to bypass with something as simple as sticking something to the screen or using an overlay, which means people easily get an artificial advantage with these classes. I'm personally -for- an overall nerf of the Ramjet for instance, unfortunately all it achieves is annoying people that don't use external, undetectable features to help themselves. The theory is probably that nobody can aim very well without the scope, thus nerfing the weapons. In practice, this is not at all the result. As it is now, those weapons should have a dot in the center. It doesn't help that some of those ironsights are just weird and don't aim precisely enough. (mostly talking about railgun and maybe PIC here) -I don't enjoy night maps in this game as it stands. Its incredibly difficult even in the middle of a firefight to aim at people. C&C Renegade's night maps weren't so dark and didn't just hide every character from sight. I was fighting Nod and I basically couldn't see much of them, except for their floating names. Not fun. The game has basically no way to counter the darkness, and darkness without a way to beat it is never fun, so its my opinion that either that the map should be brighter. This was mostly tested in Field. -There are various crash issues, but their cause I'm not certain. I'm pretty sure that Steam authentication or some such has something to do with crashing when joining a game or switching map (which happened a LOT to me). -Tied with those probable authentication issue, when I get back in a server I'm treated as a new player (credits are lost, might not be on the same team, etc). -Vehicle explosions still don't always appear. Damn, I had a break between now and my time with the game and I'm sure I forgot a few things. Feel free to add to this. EDIT: -I should mention this one anyway, even if its obvious. The server browsers are quite messed up. The launcher browser works fine, but doesn't sort properly (especially by player count, its all over the place). Pings in both is not shown. Worst of all however is the in-game one, it seems to not even bring you to the right server at times.

I need it all the time <-< Anyway, solution found, see first post!
-
Which finger do you think is hurting <-< I have to hold it what seems like the entire game, holding it that way is going to hurt.
-
Unfortunately I barely played for 30 minutes yet that I have a handache. Sprinting is a feature that -requires- a toggle unfortunately. I have not found a comfortable setup for it. No matter where I put it, its just extremely weird and makes my finger aches. Alt seems a bit better but still, not great, and it makes the menu pop up (uugggh) EDIT: That was quick, I found a solution. Go to ...\Renegade X\UDKGame\Config\UDKInput.ini Find the two instances of "StartSprint | OnRelease StopSprinting" and remove "OnRelease StopSprinting" For instance, this line: Bindings=(Name="GBA_Sprint",Command="StartSprint | OnRelease StopSprinting | EnableOneClickDodge | OnRelease DisableOneClickDodge") Will then look like this: Bindings=(Name="GBA_Sprint",Command="StartSprint | EnableOneClickDodge | OnRelease DisableOneClickDodge") Voila. Toggled sprinting. You do have to press it again after doing any action or stopping to start sprinting again.

What? Is it even the 26th somewhere? Hey, not complaining!

The steam public name is changeable, I'm assuming they are using this (I would not accept my steam account name being shown).

Suggested additions for subsequent patches/content expansion
SFJake replied to Alex06's topic in Renegade X
It seems to be in their intention to add more to the game. However, its easy to get carried away in crazy ideas that really have no place in the game. You don't want to add things that will severely alter the dynamic of the game, for instance. They also want to stay true to the C&C lore, so that does imply some limits. The whole drone thing is just way too ridiculous and most ideas just don't have a clear reason to be. Your post is essentially brainstorming, which there is nothing wrong with but thats all it is. I think it would be wiser to find a hole in the gameplay that can be enhanced rather than just wanting to add a thousand little thing because they are cool. But its not like they don't want to add anything. For instance, I'm using it as an example, I recall hearing something about Motion Sensors in one of the stream, logically I guess to counter Nod's stealth from going anywhere they want. The point really though, is when you want to add something, you need more reasons than just wanting it. Even such a small thing like the motion sensor could change a lot to the dynamic of the game. -
Thats a lot of animation work for a purely aesthetic and unnecessary function though.
-
Thanks for the official answer, its very much appreciated. Its unfortunately not getting a lot of votes yet, though. I guess I'll wait until after release and get people's opinions then, once people actually played with it.
-
What you say doesn't seem related, though. Its not that kind of lag here.
-
Well in the video here: It happens at 10 seconds or so. Yes, its slight, I actually felt it was more delayed in another video, but maybe thats my memory playing tricks. I know it doesn't look like a big deal being what, 1/10th of a second, but it is a delay that can matter (in this case it doesn't, since the guy is just out in the open). Ideally, the character would always be exactly under the crosshair. It is very nitpicky, I know. It is still 1/10th of a second I lose using 3rd person around tight corners. I don't recall ever seeing someone play in the tunnels with 3rd person in Renegade X, though.
-
This is from what I've seen of the various videos/streams. When you are in 3rd person view, the camera "lags" behind your movement. In Renegade it was strict -> the camera was very tightly tied to your movement. In Renegade X however, if you pop up behind a wall, it actually takes a split second before you can see, for example, because the camera is slightly delayed. This might sound like a small thing to some, but to me, it sounds like a very clear disadvantage 3rd person was given. 3rd person is instantly weaker around cover and especially in tight places, strictly because of this little lag. I don't know if that was intentional or not to nerf 3rd person. I'm personally bothered by this because I will have to adopt 1st person in situations I didn't have to in Renegade, since that delay is all that other player needs to shoot me before I do. I don't know of a reason why the camera shouldn't follow the character precisely? Could there be an option for this, even?
