  1. Ideally it would be a torrent, and the manual http download would still be a thing.
  2. This was literally one of the biggest complaints when beta 1/2 were around. More on that later.
  3. Your resolution and refresh rate are all set to the right numbers.
  4. I really have no idea why sometimes people get half downloads. Honestly I'd love to just have the launcher download the entire game, and players just download the 10MB or so Launcher.

  7. So, have we decided on what this week's settings are going to be? B_Armour and try it with no limit. Building armour and jut extend to 1hr time limit incase it still stalemates out like hell... or BA and keep the time limit because we're all big boys and know how to manage points and accept consequences for repairing really really late? I'm going with the last one. Also, for the PUG we need to remember to add Eyes back into the rotation at least. Eyes and TrainingYard aren't naturally in the rotation anymore. I'm going to pretend I did it on purpose too.
  8. Torrent file was added to the downloads page. You can download with that. If it still says it's corrupt or something, try running it as an administrator. I know I either have to do that, or Windows goes a little crazy and blocks it.
  9. GPU is somewhat important... but for Unreal Engine 3.... and especially the UDK your processor takes a lot of pressure where the GPU probably SHOULD
  10. Would suggest going through with looking at the recommended specs for developers. The specs for the UDK vs. RenX are pretty different as generally games in the UDK don't go for the scale of RenX in terms of player count and size of online maps.
  11. Using reality as a basis for anything in Renegade(X) is grounds to just make your points irrelevant. If you think no good players rage on snipers then you literally just ignore them them. Hell, like the best sniper in the game, Gaysha, uninstalled over the fact that once you hit a certain level of twitch reflexes you really have no reason to use anything that doesn't just one hit kill. Also, as much as Jake is a crazy anti-everything-after-2002 he brings up the biggest point which is that Ren is a high TTK game yet Snipers totally break that mold. Right now snipers are just under attack because they don't fit in, especially in a game where the average TTK against someone actually dodging is a good 3-5 seconds with people that can track well, and holy hell if you put two people that suck at tracking against each other you're looking at 10+ seconds. Honestly snipers are only as strong as they are with being as mobile and having no statute of limitations on their weapon because Hotwires and Techs exist. Watch a PUG, it quickly becomes apparent that there's only about 2 relevant infantry in the game, as all of the rest are hard countered by just having a decent sniper or throwing a remote in their face if they overstep their bounds and try to actually get into a building. The SBH and LCG are both situational... and both of those get hard-countered by the aforementioned infantry anyway, unless you get the complete drop on a sniper, or if they just happen to let their twitchiness go downhill for awhile. Being good is fine... a broken mechanic is not. Case and point... give Cannuck anything... and he will probably kill you in that 3 second minimum no matter what. Granted, him and Gaysha are some special cases. P.S my phone is raping my messages...so Ima just stop there.
  12. Nothing regarding whether you're scoped or unscoped was changed... so that was just something on your end more than likely. Nothing anyone purposely did anyway, and last I checked during testing it wasn't changed. ... lol, how? It's still 3+ seconds between shots with a PIC... and they can't shoot you from across the map. The rocket launcher and the PIC/RG are probably the only 2 balanced single shot weapons in the game.

  15. Actually just forgot about the fact 500's don't OHKO 1000's anymore. GJ being just as much of an annoying prick as per usual. ----- Also, will move Resolution out of the current config file it's in... because it's in the same file as the version number which obviously has to change with every version.
  16. See, I wasn't lying! 5004 is a real thing. For this one however, we also released a new build to go along with it, so there's no manual patch, as it would be hellishly large anyway. So if the launcher doesn't push this... rather large patch, you can go to the "Download Renegade X" page and download beta 5F there! Mostly Comprehensive Change List: Known bugs: The Chinook's guns still don't replicate firing to other clients. Mine-Banning needs some adjustments that will likely be hot-fixed sometime this week.
  17. Didn't input all mines disappearing, but did make it so people who leave or are mine-banned can have their mines disarmed.

  20. I was referring to collision only showing up based on lag. Since it has to spawn something server side the client isn't necessarily going to get that actor spawned instantly. In a case like mine with 300+ ping, I can generally get through like two trees before getting blocked

  22. Damn, never posted. Was going to say A) Set the permissions on the main Renegade X folder so that "Everyone" has full rights to it. B) You might need to install/re-install the .NET framework. Usually when the game crashes at that point the log doesn't mention the .net framework... but yours does. Or you could try to download beta 5f... which will be out very soon here. (Also you set "ResX and ResY" in UDKSystemSettings and DefaultSystemSettings? )
  23. Foliage collision volume works well enough for now. It's used on Training Yard... and it hits more as a lag issue than anything, with some vehicles getting collision, and other getting collision late. It still stops what it needs to stop for now. Also, I get no compile errors regarding it.

  25. Ryz's reasons are honestly not everybody else's... I'd stop fighting his. I could care less if people want to snipe-whore all day long: Ctrl+V+3 exists for a reason if the other team gets that annoyed by it. Listen to Bananas/Gaysha and a few others. I just don't feel like listing everything here anymore... there's already a topic over at CT about all that, and honestly Gaysha has probably the most room to talk about snipers. It has more to do with the fact that snipers are a OHKO in a game where the average TTK (vs. someone actually good at dodging) is like 3-5 seconds: that alone is frustrating to people, but it exists in other games with high TTK as well. The difference is, most other games, the sniper rifle doesn't rattle off one shot per second, and then sprint around like a maniac to make yourself even harder to hit between shots. Aaaand let's not forget that wall-hugging is a thing. That is literally the most random bug ever. I still barely can ever get it, and have never been able to replicate it on purpose. I took a guess at it in this patch, but I can't confirm anything being fixed.
