  1. Even something like Battlefield 4 doesn't ever reallly get anything out of it, aside from maybe load times.

  3. So you've actually downloaded the file I just put up in the last post ? That file works totally fine for me even after downloading it on a different computer and replacing the RenX_Game with it. Screenshot your current CookedPC folder again, but this time right click RenX_Game and hit properties before you take the screenshot. I can tell the exact file size that's SUPPOSED to be. If it isn't downloading completely... I'm calling it your internet, but I'll also look into trying to host somewhere else. On a side note, where do you live (country) ? This is kind of pertinent, as I think your location has a lot to do with whether the launcher will update correctly or not, as you all might be pointing to a broken mirror or something since it's the closest one to you.
  4. Have honestly been thinking of giving them a javelin launcher effect so rockets always strike from above. This would make them sort of such in vehicle tunnels, but make them more reliable everywhere else.
  5. RenX_Game ^ Download that... move it to "Renegade X\UDKGame\Cooked PC"
  6. Take a screenshot (use the prt scrn button on your keyboard) of your "..\Renegade X\UDKGame\Cooked PC " folder. Manually updating to 5003 should have given you the totally right version of that package. Unless you happen to have a corrupted download in that area.
  7. No, it's not silly, Renegade X is based on c&c Renegade, which is based on c&c tiberian dawn. And I'll say again, the only reason why the obelisk shoots at air units and why ramjets were so effective against air units, was due to Westwood's lack of time to implement rocket/missile tracking in their rush to get the air patch out... It's also why, air units spawn from the wf/as and not from helipads which were omitted Since C&C2 units are being added. We've already strayed away from the game vision that was C&C Renegade. Is there just no way to create helipads and SAM sites? Umm, SAM sites definitely already exist
  8. The Stank serves it's purpose as well as any other Nod vehicle now. It sort of could do with maybe a range increase, but in terms of damage and anti-infantry it's about as good as it needs to be. It can beat Me with surprise, and it has half the health.

Honestly, a lot of the configuration options were put in place awhile ago because RenX was new and nobody could really decide on what the best configuration for separate levels; I feel like a whole freaking year has given us enough time to discern logical and strict limits for vehicles and mines now. Also a lot of configuration was in place to limit the devs having to balance the game back when an update meant re-downloading the whole game. Now that we have an auto-patcher and a more consistent patch schedule (rather than 3-5 months between updates) we could actually hard code things now. If there's any outrage about a setting it can be addressed in a patch. At most, I'd like to see at least mine/Vehicle limits be static. Crates are iffy, but I think those should be left configurable. Also, nobody is talking about crates in this topic but you, 'nuk. Already seen several extra players sticking around since we started getting active on Facebook and, more importantly, our freakin tech support forums. Also did you ever fix 5003 for yourself 'nuk?
  11. Downloaded the latest version. I don't necessarily think it feels smaller so much as slightly more cramped with less options now I will give you points for the way you cut things off though, it was creative and almost seems like a pretty realistic manner, especially the Nod gates. The only nit-pick I found is that there is SAND IN THE WAR FACTORY, at the back PT. Of course, considering Mesa II had(has) ground in buildings, I'm willing to still let it pass.
  12. Found an issue. That little light at the back of the hand of nod by the wall: if you sprint and jump near it you can get stuck between it and the HON. There's also a dip in the rocks on the silo path behind Nod's Refinery and in front of their bunker where if you fall in you just float forever. Will post a screenshot of that one later. Aside from that... I guess you have the right to make it a dark map, but I think Training Yard was better as a day map. I'm also VERY MUCH disappointed at the lack of height in the now with the middle section having been gutted. It's your map... but honestly I think some of the best things about Training Yard were its middle, and the weapon drops, now that they're both down I don't see it being quite loved for much of anything >_>. Just my 2 cents.
  13. Good find... the manual patch 5003 doesn't include the updated Walls_Flying from 5002. So, you can either go look through the 5002 folder and get Walls_Flying and "../UDKGame\CookedPC\RenX\Environments\RX_Deco_Rock" manually, or give me some time to update the manual patch 5003. It makes sense that it'd work from 5002 > 5003, but from 5001 you definitely would have to download those files.
  14. Did you manually install 5003? Might also need a screenshot of your maps folder since you said you also installed customs.

  17. I don't personally mind silos, but I don't think they fit every map. Seriously, Islands already has infinite money. Volcano has nowhere you could put a silo without having to change other dynamics of the map (not to mention Volcano is meant to be quick base-on-base action anyway... not alternate objective nonsense). Walls... is already Walls. Again, a silo really wouldn't add much of anything to it, except now Orcas would have a centralized point to kill-whore off of more. The silo on Under is probably the best placed silo though to be honest. The Field silo is still kind of iffy, and I think it should have been built around the tunnels, but whatever. Morale of the story: No... all maps don't need a silo. If anything I still wish silos worked differently.. but my ideas would require a character modeler.
  18. Couldn't disagree more. I played Hourglass more than any other Renegade map. It's a very well known fact that Hourglass was one of the most universally hated maps in Renegade. !voteskipmap (Or whatever it was) generally went up within the first few seconds/minutes if the server allowed it. If not, you just watched the server population decline for awhile. Your PERSONAL experience doesn't mean a thing. On topic..... the Obelisk is going to shoot at aircraft... forever probably.

  20. ALRIGHT.... last week was kind of weird since B0ng suddenly was gone, and The Yosh.... well The Yosh ended up sleeping on somebody else's floor instead of in his own room. Anyway, that is behind us. This weekend, we re-commence this smash-faced spectacle of teamwork, honour.... and rage! Roll call.

  24. Uuuh that'd be fine and dandy if it weren't for the fact that Eyes is sort of in the game now. Optimization is kind of important...otherwise we end up with early Lakeside.
