How does using Q affect bots, if at all?

I am still looking to understand the current situation with Bots and the use of the Q button.

Does using Q on buildings, enemies etc... direct the bots?     If so, are there known issues to avoid ?

AFAIK it does not

It does allow you to control them, but only in skirmish

 

for example if you Q spot a bot, you can have them stop or attack

How would i direct a bot to stop or attack?    If i use Q on the bot .. what do i do next?

As far as I know, Q just makes them start or stop following you around.
