KentMansley
Friend pointed me to this game today. Downloaded, disabled firewall, tried running as Administrator, tried 32bit and 64bit. It loads a box, which I assume is the game, and it instantly goes into "Not Responding," and does nothing else until I force quit the program. I am not sure what to do to fix this issue. Totem Arts Staff yosh56 Posted June 25, 2020 Totem Arts Staff Share Posted June 25, 2020 Try going to 'settings' and 'Reset Game' on the launcher. Just at a glance, that usually happens with bad/corrupt config files.

Totem Arts Staff yosh56 Posted June 26, 2020 Totem Arts Staff Share Posted June 26, 2020 I assume this also happens when you just hit 'Launch Game' on top as well? Would you be able to screenshot the 'Renegade X\UDKGame\Config' folder for us? Also, do you have any overclocking/Hardware management software running? For instance, Rivatuner, MSI Afterburner, ZOTAC Firestorm
KentMansley
I double click the servers, tried the "launch game" button in the corner, and I have tried clicking join server. All have the same issue. I don't have those programs running at all. Edited June 26, 2020 by KentMansley
Totem Arts Staff yosh56 Posted June 26, 2020 Totem Arts Staff Share Posted June 26, 2020 What are your system specifications? Also, if you could, post your log here. It should be in UDKGame\Logs as Launch.log.

KentMansley
Steam is usually on in the background. Do I need to go into the game files like in that post and delete them before a reinstall?
KentMansley
I tried launching the game with and without steam and Onedrive was removed fom my PC and I am still having the same issue.
Totem Arts Staff yosh56 Posted June 28, 2020 Totem Arts Staff Share Posted June 28, 2020 You wouldn't have needed to uninstall Steam (unless you were just trying the things in that topic). Every solution to that error is talking about deleting folders in Documents/My Games, though Renegade X doesn't hold anything there (you can check that folder though) Try running the game, letting it crash, then check the Application portion of the Windows Event Viewer. (If you're on Windows 10 you can just search for 'Event Viewer')
KentMansley
I opened up the viewer and than the game. The game had me reinstall it and it gave me a prompt to install the Windows Distributors or whatever they are called, which I didn't get the first time. I launched the game and it didn't crash. I got the main menu and everything. I am not sure what I did differently, but it seems to be working now. I really appreciate all the help and it is a nice breath of fresh air to see devs actively on the forums helping out with one person's issues.

CronicxEMD
Hello, I'm new here, just tried running the game for the first time and I am having this exact issue. I went through this thread going step by step with the advice and still haven't got it to start working. Any more ideas? should I uninstall and reinstall like he did? Also, have you tried hitting 'reset game's under Settings in the launcher? Were you prompted to install the UE3 Redistributable during installation?
