  1. Release Candidate 1 for the Tank Destroyer: TankDestroyer.rar Servers can feel free to do testing if they wish to. This tank WILL take some by surprise when they first encounter it, as it is radically powerful vs vehicles, only medium tanks and other similarly armored tanks can survive a shot. It has no turret, and a 10 second reload, so those targets that can survive, will have ample time to react. It is also pitifully weak vs structures (2% per shot), so it cant be abused vs buildings. (turrets and guard towers still get wrecked) It CAN be effective vs infantry who are dumb enough to try and engage it from the front, but the lack of turret means it is not the best platform to try and fight them with, as nimble targets will give it trouble with aiming and all that jazz. Air units are the hardest counter to this tank, as it cannot raise its gun enough to target them properly, nor does it have the turret to help track them. At heroic levels, only 4 vehicles can survive a shot from it: flame tanks, medium tanks, mammoth tanks, titans (the flame and medium will barely survive at around 20% health, while the mammoth will survive at 50%, titan around 35%).

Also, Planned Future stuff that i would eventually like to begin work on at some point: (no timeframe set for each yet, so dont ask when they will be done) NOD: Vehicles: -Mobile AA System -Stealth Artillery (no, it's not the specter, don't ask about the specter) Infantry Weapons: -Charged Particle Beam (sustained beam laser weapon. does more damage the longer it remains on target.) GDI: Vehicles: -Recon Helicopter (1 seater light attack aircraft designed to be an early game aircraft) -LOSAT Anti-Structure surface-to-surface weapon system. (instead of an explosive projectile, a LOSAT fires giant solid metal kinetic projectiles. fun.) Infantry Weapons: -Sonic Blaster (think disrupter tank weapon only a miniaturized version.) these are my current RC(release candidate) projects (aka not for personal use only.), and i plan on working towards this list once i have my current project list done. (3 tanks, and a airstrike weapon.)
  3. someone asked me if i was going to give Nod any love. well, i wasn't planning to reveal it until it was near completion, but there IS this: Nod artillery platform used to mount a rapid fire autocannon designed for AA work. having 2 problems preventing it from being released: minor physics issues, and turret textures. if those can get fixed, its release candidate quality i believe.
  4. so i wonder, is it possible to get the rest of the base 3ds models for renX other then the example assets from the udk? (light tank & artillery are the ones i am looking at atm.)
  5. the closest thing i have to it atm is this: But it is far from complete(needs new textures, mesh is incomplete), nor do i have plans to finish it. I suppose if someone wants the files so they can finish it i could hand them over. (if asked)

  7. i even thought of instead of a HMG strafing run making a 1 use crate weapon that calls in a heavy bombing run from something like a B2 spirit.
  8. A laser tank did cross my mind at one point. Atm once i am done working on these few project tanks, i actualy plan on learning how the airstrike consumable works, and making a cheaper version that calls in a strafing run of MG fire from something like a corsair, instead of a GAU & missile strike of the A10. good infantry supression, but weak vs tanks. the strike consumables have potential.
  9. i did have a rigged mobile SAM vehicle done, but there were several mechanical & coding issues that arose, so it got abandoned for now. i do still have a personal project rigged that is working for a mobile AA platform, but i dont have plans to release it as it is atm.

  11. maybe, but that model is not going to be seeing use at this point anyways. i have no need for it anymore. so that point is resolved a bit no?
  12. i am getting better at the process as a result, rigging used to take me 5-8 hours to do. now i can do a basic rigging in about 2-3 hours, so the masses of personal only projects ARE helping me learn the process.
  13. never heard of that game before, but i can already see slight differences in model design just from the pictures. also, that first post was my very first time using 3ds max in over 12-15 years. so i just used that model as a way to tinker and learn things. I AM experimenting atm with royalty free models atm for personal use though: each time i use one though i always ask the author, to make sure and get permission. (if there is no clear statue for use displayed) each time i put something together i get a little better at it, so its def worth the time for me. (a good example being the tank destroyer, which was a result of my learning how rigging worked better over time by making many dummy tanks using prefabs.)
  14. waiting on server state to be updated, but the following changes are planned to push through: (green = buff, red = nerf) Tank Destroyer: Model Changes: -Texture replacement Weapon Changes: -Damage vs vehicles: 23% increase -Damage vs structures: 90% decrease -Damage vs infantry: 20% decrease Hind: Weapon changes: -Weapon Spread: decreased by 20% -Weapon Damage: increased by 20% -Weapon firing arc increased-> easier to target objects Survivability Changes -HP increased from 600 to 650. Mobility Changes: -Top Speed reduced by 15%
  15. that would be the hind, its already been adjusted internally to be more consistent with its salvos. that clip size is based on its weapon (which are quad rocket pods each of which carry 20 low yield unguided rockets.) Its purpose built for saturation over precision. i plan on updating the server states soon, as its mostly outdated atm in regard to tank stats.
  16. texture update for the Tank Destroyer: Weapon has also been adjusted. it now can do devastatingly effective damage vs vehicles(2 shot a medium tank, 3 shot a mammoth), but it is pitiful vs structures (2% per shot), and is moderate vs infantry (though basic infantry will still get outright killed on a direct hit because of the raw base damage) the 10 second reload ensures that targets will have time to take cover, or react to the initial ambush, before its destroyed. this gives the tank a purpose as a siege breaker or tank hunter, or for locking down a avenue of attack. it has no turret, so it has to turn the entire tank to aim at targets, which means nimble targets can theoretically mitigate damage by moving around, and not being stationary. (this also limits the usefulness of the tank vs infantry.)

  18. thing with fixed wing aircraft, i dont think out current maps are big enough to support them atm. if people played bigger maps more often that would support them id be all for it.
  19. stealth aircraft. has no weapons, and only 275 hp (light armor value as well). carries 3 people (1 driver, 2 passengers). its a pure infiltration craft, if spotted it melts super fast.
  20. you can fly that osprey in the test server taisho put up. (see other thread in this section). its undergoing texture rework atm though. the original renegade did have a private jet modeled for the singleplayer campaign.. but i dont see how much of a use that would have here, unless for like props or something.

  24. doing last stages on my most complete project: a GDI tank destroyer model is completely finished. just needs weapon tweaking, and an icon. its a fixed gun chassis tank very high power, very low rate of fire and obviously no turret traverse. those 2 balance out the high power per shot. this fixed gun tank destroyer carries a 310mm cannon on a down-armored medium tank chassis. (500hp compared to 800) This powerful platform has an abysmal reload of 10 seconds along with no turret traverse, but if allowed to stay alive and actively engage its target, it can 2 shot a medium or light tank. it fires too slowly to be of any use vs buildings being internally repaired. (unless people guarding the base are too stupid to notice this pounding the base,) Overall at a glance stats: Firepower: 5/5 Armor: 2/5 Mobility: 3/5
  25. press f5, then type them in. (after voting in the 2 spawn settings in the vote menu) if its the first time you spawned one it it may boot you, just rejoin to download the package.
