  1. What is a GSP? And good luck, I hope you catch the perpetrator.
  2. Oh cool, this is what I mentioned earlier: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_ ... Caps%2C146 I did some research with Google and learned a bit about these. Any recommendations for any reliable wireless range extenders?
  3. These false positive "Speed Hack Detected" incidents are getting annoying. Do you have any advice for how to improve our Internet connections? A friend once told me there are these satellite shaped relayer devices that can boost a wireless signal in a house, you put one here and another there to improve the Internet reception at your end; does anyone know the name of this device and what store sells them?
  4. Do you have any recommendations for TeamSpeak gear, such as a headset? What do you use for TeamSpeak? This is a topic for discussion of PC TeamSpeak gear, particularly when playing Renegade X.
  5. Which server was I on tonight? ConstructiveTyranny was it (I had TeamSpeak switched on)? Anyways I placed an SBH Nuke beacon, RIGHT then my father says I have to come to the dinner table. Ugh, I had to leave that beacon go (sorry about that), abruptly cut off the game & TeamSpeak and leave for dinner. What happened after that? Did any Nod SBHs manage to do any damage or destroy anything? What happened to my beacon(did it automatically vanish since I left)? Has this happened to anyone else, where you're playing an online multiplayer game with other people and then someone in real life tells you to get off the game and do something else? I hope you understand where I'm coming from with this. Many apologies, ~ ChrisJH
  6. This is likely intentional as the purchasable sidearms are more powerful than free sidearms and the primary weapons issued to free infantry. When you buy a more powerful sidearm you are given an ammunition limit to compensate for your higher formidability aspect. It only makes sense that because they are higher tier weapons (sort of like higher tier character weapon primaries) you can only dish out so much damage before needing to get a lucky refill crate mid-field or returning to a terminal in your base; this is routine for higher tier characters who love their damage dishing primaries anyway.
  7. September 30, sometime around 5:20. I'm on team Nod and we have all buildings while GDI only has a Power Plant left, on xMountain on a DDoS proof server. I'm an Engineer and go to a PCT to buy an SBH, as soon as I access the terminal my computer monitor goes black and eventually to the desktop. Now there are 3 different UDKs/RenXs open on the taskbar, so I use Task Manager to terminate them as they jam up the RAM. I had to check on my laundry anyway, so I just stayed off the game. Was this a more sophisticated & improved DDoS attack? If so, LOL at the sore loser on GDI who may have sent it to us Noddies. It wouldn't surprise me if the DDoS guy/girl got better at hacking such attacks into RenX servers.
  8. I don't know, you could be surprised if authorities crack down on the perpetrator. It all starts with a small thing, and then the perpetrator likely gets a high off of the one minor thing and then goes to much higher levels of the offense. So while he's just sabotaging RenX servers right now he might proceed to sabotaging YouTube, Amazon.com or whatever. And these people will probably do even worse crimes at some point such as planting Ransomware on a website or server. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if he put a ransomware Trojan or Remote Access Tool on a server to hack us all (is that possible to do to RenX players?) So I'd say it's worth at least speaking to a person in authority who knows what to do in this scenario, because these cyber criminals will only grow worse if they remain undetected. It's a Publicity Stunt if set up by it's own team, not really if the impact is from an unaffiliated entity. But yeah, if this makes the news headlines or whatever then RenX will garner plenty of attention.
  9. Have you ever seen this show on CBS? It's good and helps give insight into how criminals cause mischief on computers and the Internet. Lately on some RenX servers we have encountered DDoS incidents; if that CSI Cyber team from the show existed in real life they could very well crack down on these vandals. Hey RenX server owners, check out these sites: https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/investigate/cyber http://www.justice.gov/criminal-ccips/r ... erty-crime It would be best if a server owner reported a DDoS incident, to give as much accurate information as possible. Has anybody considered consulting authorities about these DDoS encounters? Because I really believe that Cyber Crime investigators in real life can track down the perpetrator(s) in question; maybe not as powerful as the show but still efficient. In the show, CSI Cyber is the best at what it does. In reality the FBI is still a force to be reckoned with, it's not if they succeed but a matter of when. If the DDoSed servers are in America then I'm sure the FBI will want to help out. If the servers are in other countries there's still a chance you might get their help, especially if the perpetrator is in America.
  10. Think of each map as its own array of perks and physical configurations. Some maps have air units, others don't. XMountain is entirely outdoors, others have interiors. Most maps have silos, why not have at least a few without a single silo? It all adds up to diversified gameplay.
  11. Those are good rappelling ideas DoMiNaNt_HuNtEr mentioned, they were in oldren's campaign so it makes sense if Totem Arts gives this ability to the Chinook. Yes, it could be hilarious in DoMiNaNt_HuNtEr's eyes but I simply see it as logical in war and in vid games. The problem I see with this is someone could airdrop tanks on unreachable platforms (only reachable via air unit) on the Walls map much like how some people like to drop off snipers on those platforms. People have complained about those sniping positions, imagine if it was a Mammoth or MRLS up there (probably too powerful of an advantage). If you give the vehicle transport ability to the Chinook, put some sort of barrier around those platforms which causes ground vehicles to slip and slide off the platform.
  12. Somewhat debatable in how Mammoth tanks are obtainable in at least one campaign mission in TS. Also, Stealth Tanks are in Nod's arsenal in TS.
  13. The other day I was playing a match on GDI and crate patrolling. The crate on the Nod side of the Battlefield on the map Field was (inadvertently?) covered by a teammate's Medium Tank while I was scrambling all around trying to get it, and I had only 7 HP left. I was hoping for a refill, and this went on for at least 5 seconds until he finally got the message. So I get the crate and it's a Recon Bike, I try to get in and return to base to refill HP when all a sudden I get blasted to death by an enemy tank. A teammate said on team radio text "Get in the Vehicle! Recon Bike" so I try to rush back to get the bike. It was taken by somebody else (not much of a big deal to me) so I went crate patrolling some more. So if you're in a vehicle and at a crate location, try not to prevent teammates from getting the crate; this can be done by being adjacent to the crate but not exactly on top of it and thus allow a teammate to pick it up. Now if you see an enemy soldier try to get a crate, then hampering the enemy is ok. You can then center your vehicle on top or try to block it by other means (like the crate nearest to the silo on XMountain) so you effectively say "denied" to the enemy trooper. But if you ever see a teammate try to obtain the crate you're guarding, please maneuver yourself in a way so they can get it.
