If there was one interactive feature with the overview map it'd be for players to 'beacon' points of interest, they wouldn't show up in-game but the minimap/radar at the bottom could 'ping'. Cooldown of 1 minute per player. e.g. Hold down LMB for 3 seconds to ping a 'point of interest' on the map.

Might be something useful for Firestorm if not for RenX

Madkill,  may I ask when was the last time you tested Firestorm? That was already a feature in like... a month now. Granted they're still barebones and at one map glitched out, but it works otherwise. I'll let you know hoe to use it later tonight if you'd like

A feature like that in RenX might be worth considering

PS : No offense on that first remark btw. I was just genuinely curious

  2. A hard no for me. I don't see how removing votes are productive in gameplay whatsoever. I'd agree if it's just limiting the annoying vote spam, but removing vote in its' entirety is just something I don't see will happen in any near future

I'd personally find it ridiculous if you're basing your decision on the fact that Oldren doesn't have it. Oldren doesn't have many things that are in RenX. We can't cling to purist mindset if we want to progress

  3. To clarify, UDK's last known compatibility was at PS3, XBox 360 and IOS, aside from the obvious PC. unfortunately,  I don't think anyone in dev team are able to develop PlayStation games. I think their restrictions would also be a lot less lax than PC or Android.

Not to mention the minimal support for PS3 nowdays

  4. To be honest, force-swapping anyone is an iffy thing to do in the middle of a match. That being said, I agree with the notion that swapping yourself in the middle of the match because you got annoyed is a bad behavior.... at least when it comes to morality issues, which I'm well aware that a lot of people happily ignores (no offense).

That's my 2 cents anyways. I think if the team was numerically unbalanced when the switch happened, I'd be leaning towards Snow

  5. Well I will begin to say that you misunderstood what I was trying to say. It is not the EMP crate that would promote too much camping, but rather the overabundance of mines. The EMP crate just adds too much weigh in RNG, which is really something I personally don't like. There's a reason why crate weapons got trimmed eventually.

On the contrary, it's really hard to infiltrate a base where mines are overabundant. It means you can't really go anywhere in the enemy base without the ground suddenly igniting under you. It's already so bad when a barracks/HoN was the only building left and you can't infiltrate it due to the whole building being filled with mines even EMP grenade/strike can't solve it

  6. With that sort of thing, you'd be denying the concept of infiltration, though. Putting it on some kind of RNG-based crate is not the way you want to do it. This also promotes camping too much, which is not ideal

  7. Renegade X is this kind of game where the meta is so strong that if you mess up with it, it's bound to get you the ire of the other players. Unfortunately yeah, Bred's right about it being a hard problem to solve. It's partly community issue

  8. I'm just gonna say that anything that has stuff to do with User Interface will be on backburner for awhile. Only few of us are capable of dealing with Scaleform GFx and even fewer of us are mad enough to be wanting to have anything to do with it anymore because of how easy it is to break the UI.

I'm one of those and I'm already dealing with other UI stuff, so.... yeah. Also, Renegade X Purchase Terminal UI is so ew that I had to basically remake Firestorm UI from scratch, both the script and flash file. Some of us are also planning to remake the Renegade X UI based on the Firestorm iteration, and I'm so NOT looking forward to deal with that.

  9. Leaving tibs and degrading tibs are not exactly within our capability as of yet.

Also, who's saying that all Cyborgs would be fully anti-infantry? One of them is actually geared for anti-vehicle combat

As a bit of context, here's the Nod infantry list in Dev Talk 5 unknown.png?width=764&height=429

  10. Once upon a time, I made it so that if Cyborg is getting run over, the vehicle blows up instead. Testers hated it and so it went away. Now they just don't take damage from runovers aside from select vehicles

Otherwise.... a bit too early to tell. They're mostly similar to other infantries with extra properties and abilities of their own. They definitely still can get shot down by snipers and headshot though, and Mammoth MK2 certainly decimates them with a single railgun shot (that thing blows stuffs up so intensely the original MK2 would feel envious)

Agreed. We need a key to press to bring up ONLY chat and color coded by teams. The problem with pressing ` is that it's too hard to read quickly (not color coded and shows non chat spam), and you cant screenshot it (for evidence of bad situations).

There actually is a chat window in the pause menu. Very few people knew about this I assume.

  12. Explanation of possible methods on cheating is a very risky thing to do. A more tech savvy and less honest people among us would have the chance to decipher what actually happened with only a few hints that we drop and thus any form of explanation would do much more harm than good.

Sorry, but such things are not something we can really disclose lightly
