  1. QUOTE (Demigan @ Jun 15 2010, 12:30 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ofcourse not a perfect copy. You take the basics (a freaking beach assault with big ships and coastal cannons and bunkers and so on) and make a nice little assault from it. It adds to the ambiance if you have some big rockets and air planes overhead, explosions everywhere. There is a but though. Only if it doesn't have too much effect on the game (i.e. the rockets impacting on your location) its good. Its no fun if the hazards are so bountiful that you are probably not going to reach the opponent. In single player that's ok. Multiplayer...
  2. QUOTE (Jointn00b @ Jun 16 2010, 11:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know I'm maybe starting a tedious debate, but as a studying psychologist I just have to react on Demigan and Jointn00b. To start. People do get more violent from computer games. Their thoughts (and thus their actions) become more agressive. It isn't really noticeable in most cases though. The cases which you do notice it, is like Demigan stated. People who actually become more violent from video games, already have more aggressive tendency's. Fact remains that you get more violent just after the game, and a very, very slightly bit overall in your life. Yes. Shooters do improve the way information is processed. You have to be able to sort the incredible amount of new information into your old information and make the right decisions to be successful. It is indeed proven atm that these people gain advantages in real life too. On a side note, hand-eye coordination improves too, weird as it sounds. Surgeons benefit from this, as medical appliances are now more and more computer controlled. To the matter where its all about. Parents have the authority in a great extend to decide what is best for their child if the child is under-age. Besides, the game is rated M because of the possibility of gore, bad language and violence. So it is even illegal to play it when under-aged. And so it is with Renegade-X. Sorry. Thats all =) Ban4life
  3. QUOTE (Mighty BOB! @ Jun 12 2010, 11:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> or simply put, this is not blood =). I'm glad these forums have some deeper thinkers than *some* other forums
  4. QUOTE (Demigan @ Jun 7 2010, 08:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So every missile is going to be into the game too? With those cruise missile's you can make a pretty darn awesome assault level (or a general level with just a few such hazars. Not too many though, would f*ck up the game). Anyone remember overlord from UT? You can make that a wild extravaganza of a real beach attack. Tough it is always fun to have an alternate spawn method, like being dropped out of a plane, from a hovercraft or you just exit the apc that is arriving. Would also counter spawn killing (I know you did it, so did I long ago) if the apc or hovercraft would be firing a bit thanks to the improved AI. Something like that. You can always hope it will also be in the multiplayer. -Ban4life
  5. can anyone make some sense of this for me? This is what I know: UDK=stand alone It doesn't need UT3 anymore to play. So that is everything what I know. Now the questions: -So the only link with UT3 is the same engine? -It will get its own (ingame) menu? -Will it still be free (I guess so)? -Will there be stuff like serial codes? -What other advantages are there? I can't really see it. I can only guess there will be less conflict issues for having another game you based yours on. -I saw someone saying more people would play it with UDK. why? -I saw some stuff about single player. I know some things where said about it, but is it really going to feature in Renegade-X? (would be nice) greetings, Ban4life
  6. QUOTE (R315r4z0r @ Oct 23 2009, 10:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Chaingunner is 175 last time I checked does anyone have all the damage values of all the guns for me? (eg raptor gun: 5dmg against units, 20 against head, 3 against light armour, 1 against heavy, .01 against buildings) I really need it to check some of the avarage effectiveness of the units. Thanks! Ban4life
  7. QUOTE ((NE)Fobby(GEN) @ Oct 4 2009, 10:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why did it need adjusting? I dont know, but it was pretty powerfull before. You could get really much xtra kills buying this guy at the start, and it was still pretty effective later in the game due to the xtra health and not dying the first ramjet shot. or that is at least how I feel about it. The patch was also horribly underestimated. They even put the cost of patch DOWN on some servers! Against people it is way better then mobius or mendoza, due to traveling bullits and people dont see you miles away shooting that thing.
  8. QUOTE (havoc9826 @ Aug 30 2009, 06:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think you misunderstand me. The team would make the skins/alterations. The alterations are small and only regard your own character. As you might know you can alter a few different aspects of your character in UT3 like this: (lacking another picture, this is a joke one, but the message is clear) So, the discussion is as follows: at the third stage, if there is enough time and the team wants to create it, is there a possibility that they would create options to make your character slightly different then the others. so no "stupid sponge bob square fucking pants C4s that can be seen a mile away. No shiny stealth skin to get an advantage. No glowing firey projectiles. No bright coloured character skins to be able to see from far." No customized skins, only alterations made by the team. Having a character that has or doesnt have a helmet is hardly an advantage in my eyes, but does add a little something. R315r4z0r has got the idea: QUOTE My post isnt discussed in the post you are referring to Havoc9826, so I still want an answer. Ban4life ps. The Gunner looks good
  9. QUOTE (Spycon @ Aug 30 2009, 04:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I still think it is worth a thought I mean, you can alter it in UT3 (head, shoulders, legs etc) so why not put in a little individual touch? It can be 3 kinds of trousers, 2 kinds of helmets and some stuff like it for each character and saved (on your own computer) for in game. You could even link the achievement system to it and put generals stars on the shoulders for example. It is only an idea for the third stage. And hell, they want world domination too, this doesnt sound as big as that -Ban4life
  10. QUOTE (Combine 108 @ Aug 30 2009, 09:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This gave me another idea. I think its in Halo3 (not sure?) Make that everyone can customise some stuff on his own units. A few places that they are allowed to put a tatoo, a sticker on their helmet or a text. Something that people know, when they see my "zero tolerance" painted in red on my helmet, that they are in trouble, because you can only see that when you are up close to my shotgun trooper. Somethings could include: -helmet on/off -A band with a text/picture on their arm -text on the suit on fixed places -camouflage on the face or not -you get the idea Is this something to be discussed here, or in another post, or is the idea shot down before it even get's a chance? -Ban4life
  11. This is one of the sexiest things I've ever seen... I was like "hurray, and update.... hurray, release date... look at that.... " That... is just sexy. I know it sounds really wrong, a guy saying that about an 12 meters tall... shooting big red lasers, but it still looks sexy. It looks weird, but looking at it once more, its easy to get accustomed by its sight. Something you don’t want to see when you're NOD, it is definitely looking more dangerous. Just look at it. An automated factory that is processing a dangerous green crystal in a (presumably) green goo and doing some mysterious stuff with it. Yes is what every boy wants for his birthday. I see a lot of details that dont matter in this machinegun. Text and stuff... and for people that dont realise it, that is what makes a game worth playing, and this machinegun worth handling. It gets an A++ for being a real machinegun. Oh yea looking good! Much nicer than the old one! Though it disturbs me that it says beacons... spam fest anyone? The vision of what you are going to buy is good. Machinegun is looking more powerfull, shotgun is a real shotgun, grenadelauncher is refreshingly cool. Refill is a bit less inspiring (just saying) and the vehicles, though the idea is really good, it leaves too much open space for being intresting enough. Maybe put some helicopters there later? Still looks cool though. Oh yeah. The NOD variant of the buying screen! Flamethrower looks really cool, though it might be a bit of an argument in the team wheter to call it a flamethrower or a grenadelauncher. Oh well, I'll not bitch about it. The vehicles look great! and the beacon(s)... yeah its cool. Yeah, the buggy and the WF are really Ren-X style. Nice work guys! Nuke is just a badass missile of doom! oh one more thing. The list doesnt say anything about harversters. They wont be in the Beta by the looks of it. correcto? -Ban4life
  12. I read the whole post, but I dont have enough time to go in dept about it. I had another idea, that isnt just for world domination. What about the respawning happening in an helicopter "outside" the map, and that flies you into the camp. Just another drop off helicopter, like the vehicle helicopters or the harverster pathing. Same coud be done with ordering vehicles. Nod has a great airstrip for it, GDI just helicopters. Maybe a parachute idea (you see it on some servers) that people would be dropped out of a plane into the camp. could be fun. World domination sounds interesting, and I've seen some form of it in another game. Its quite fun, but you need lots of people. Also the abuse, as stated, should be fended off (though a little exploiting should be allowed, preparing for the next battle) Ban4life
  13. QUOTE (xmillion @ Jun 30 2009, 11:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sorry? surprise? A 5 METERS TALL BUILDING WITH BADASS GUNS FIRERING EVERYTHING TO DUST! and not just 1, but 7 (or 8) of them, GOING 5 MILES AN HOUR, MAKING A LOT OF NOISE and you expect it to be a surprise? on the ramjet topic, the bullit often seems to change his path slightly after hitting a person. The more distance between shot and person, the less it seems to be. So its really hard. Ban4life
  14. QUOTE (thrash300 @ Jul 27 2009, 12:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They keep as close as possible with lots of parameters and stuff, like damage, AOE and movement/bullit speed. Where needed or incredibly enchancing gameplay, they will improve it. They create it on the UT3 engine for the better graphics. If you want to play it with the old graphics on the new engine... why bother? too much hassle with too little improvement. besides, the new looks of the guns are a little pain (if any) for the great look of the game. Just wait untill you play it, and feel the ambiance of the game. You will be glad with all the new looks and graphics. QUOTE (havoc9826 @ Jul 27 2009, 08:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This grenadelauncher is, as far as I know, under development for a lot of years. But if you would make a multiple shot grenade launcher, it is a sensible design. So the renegade developers didnt have to look at real weapons to create their own, and neither did the team. Btw, I think that real thing looks horrible ^^ Ban4life
  15. QUOTE (BLaZor @ Jul 2 2009, 11:30 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When Sydney lost some weight and fits in her bikini again for the Summer Update.
  16. QUOTE (GummiBear @ Jun 14 2009, 11:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1% every 10 games, avarage 40 ppl a game (optimistic), so that would be a whopping 4 ppl every 10 matches!, meaning 1 every 2,5 matches! In the busy times you can get 50 avarage, so that would be 5 ppl every 10 matches, 1 every 2 matches! wow
  17. QUOTE (Patriot @ Jun 15 2009, 04:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dont want to quote the whole post above me, but it is more or less the basics for this post. For me the pace is mostly defined by moving, encountering an enemy, killing the enemy, moving on. Movement in Renegade is largely dependent on where you are moving and in what vehicle. There are lots of open spaces for vehicles and on foot, and lots of tight corners. Fast paced moving in the tight corners on foot, slow paced for vehicles if they can get there. Slow paced if you are in open field (or quick, if you include getting shot/driven over and respawning) and moderate for vehicles. Near bases it is mostly fast paced and a good variation of tight corners and open ground. Encountering an enemy doesnt take too long. Its between medium and fast. Finding enemies is easy (in contradiction to some games witch I'll not name) and if you want to stay hidden, there are plenty of ways for that too. Going from base to base you'll mostly encounter 2 or 3 people, and it can easilly go up to 40 people if you're having fun. (Field tunnels for example) Killing others does take a while. Comparing it with all the UT series, Quake and Crisis for example, the pace is just slow. For more experienced players you will have a moderate pace. It is possible to survive lots and lots of enemies for seconds, while you might be able to pop some of them off. Snipers arent included ofcourse, that is basicly the same in most games (BANG! you're dead) Vehicle killing does take a while. Heavy armored, you need lots of firepower to take any of the vehicles down. 1vs1 Even the buggy needs 5 seconds for most of the man and vehicles. Though having grown accustomed to that, they have a just slower then moderate pace. Moving on. I meant the objectives with this. Objectives often take long in Renegade. Even starting with a disadvantage like losing your PP or Ref, you can still hold it out or win. I really dont mind that, I might tell you! So all in all, renegade is just above avarage. But it certainly isnt fast. On topic: Quote "with its large maps, fast gameplay, interesting game modes and the fact that its believable, but not necessarily realistic." Yesss. Thats what is attracting me in C&C. The interview gives a new light on the developers. Funny. Ban4life
  18. So here on my own acc ^^ QUOTE (dirtycopgangsta @ Jun 12 2009, 02:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dont know about the question, but it has been answered at least two times =). Last time it was the post before yours. QUOTE (Mighty BOB! @ Jun 6 2009, 10:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The reason for this is that it would be counted as another version, if I remember correctly. So only if everyone downloaded the same stuff and installed it in the same way, it would work. The updater like in the normal UT3 games doesnt work (again, if I remember it correctly) Ban4life

    Hi Guys

  20. QUOTE (helly @ Jun 9 2009, 09:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lets make the SBH topless then too! great idea!
  21. QUOTE (AkuKo @ Jun 7 2009, 10:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sometimes the lust for power is just too great... TOO GREAT! A 5 METERS TALL BUILDING WITH BADASS GUNS FIRERING EVERYTHING TO DUST! too bad buildings arent allowed to drive fast and ARE allowed to be whored by the opponent Ban4life ps. Epicelite, dont you mean UNexpected driving over an SBH? mostly you DONT see them?
  22. Your a real renegade player when expecting a boink sound making a kill in another FPS (and for the really hooked, RTS) Blue screen of death got a second meaning you shot someone on the other side of the map, while he was invisible, behind tons of walls, buildings and tanks, because lag made you do it drove over a SBH while in a Mammoth Tank Bought a Flying Coffin (yes, I know you have done it. Admid it. There is no shame. Everyone wants to know sometimes what it is like.) mined a whole building with remote C4. "Yes, I'm throught their defences! now I put a timed on the MCT. And another Timed.... &(*@#&$*)_!&% Its freaking stuck on the other C4" Destroyed a building by shooting with a non explosive weapon against the MCT BanC4life
  23. QUOTE (dirtycopgangsta @ Jun 7 2009, 03:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> AGREED!, with the exeption of Renegade X! HAIL TO THE BOINK!
  24. QUOTE (Demigan @ May 26 2009, 10:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your AA has got headlights... that light the turret? like: Hey guys, I'm here, blinding myself and presenting a well lighted target? They already have a good start, all I think of that has to be changed is the scary look. It looks scary, but not enough... On the flamer topic. Great that it will have some flames in front of the guns (didnt see the tubes to it). It has more detail then I can remember. Still, though an eye candy, looking great and defenitely a flamer, it somehow doesnt impress me as the APC does. That is just a minor flaw in a flamer imho. I cant wait to see this baby in action....
  25. QUOTE (SoD.X @ May 23 2009, 11:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, a flame tank. headlights. you know, those things in front, that make a lot of light so you can see it comming. like... fire? It doesnt need freaking headlights! its a flame tank! It will burn everything in its path with its headlights! ok, more seriously, they are their (like at least 2 people pointed out). one more thing I would like to see. Give the flame tank a small fire in front of both the guns. More realistic. And maybe some more... I dont know, some more of what the APC has got. It is just the flametank of renegade in UT, and with my anticipation, even though it looks great, it is a bit of a let down. It misses something... X. Ban4life
