  2. We're making a list of stuff to fix for the first patch and then fixing it. Also maybe a mini-patch that might fix the connection errors and frontend problems.

Nah, I think that system would be an acceptable compromise, because you can keep doing your stealthy ninja stuff as long as no one targets you with their reticule, which, if you're doing your ninja stuff correctly in the first place, means it will be exactly the same as before, until your cover is blown anyways, at which point it doesn't matter if you show up on the radar for 4 seconds (or however long). Also renamed the topic.
  4. It was a very cheap and very poor "quick and dirty fix" to keep bots out. Something needs to be done about it.
  5. I've never really liked having both teams on the Radar. It gives me too much of an advantage over those poor enemy soldiers. But no seriously, it takes a lot of stealth out of the game entirely.

As far as I personally know, since I'm not one of the coders, we thought it was only a naming problem, not something that would actually keep teams from winning a match. And to answer nudalz: It does? Well then I guess we'll be removing that. The only "realistic" weapon-related physics we want are a little bit of bullet-spread like in Renegade. (Stand about 20 feet from a cliff and shoot at it with an automatic weapon. Notice the small amount of bullet spread on the decals.)
  10. We're pretty certain by now that it is a problem with the RenX_SC.u file and are working on a solution.

I dunno, I think if the current (modern) HUD gets the redesigns I suggested in this topic (feel free to resume conversation in that topic btw) then I think it will be a good mix of the classic and modern HUD. But of course the final product could be different from what I have pictured in my mind. If we do decide to have an option checkbox for the classic Ren HUD, it is still going to have all the features of the modern HUD (buildings, mine limits, etc.) just with the classic-looking skin.

  14. Ever since Xfire implemented video and a FPS counter I have not used Fraps. Now I just Xfire for all my in-game recording needs, both video and screenshots.

  21. Actually we're planning to do exactly what you have done there with the frontend and add IP addresses (among other things).
  22. Okay I will say this though, in the future we'll include more boink sounds for you to choose from in the settings menu. For now however, you'll have to live with it.
  23. Please see this thread regarding mapping. Basically, you could make a map that works with RenX right now, but the way our code/methods change so often, it would stop working with the mod when the next patch came out. And since we have many patches planned, you'd have to constantly update the map. As for the Recon Bike, that is still a while off, but yes in the future you'll be able to use it in custom maps! Please post your balance observations in this thread.
  24. The shotgun has always been a 1-hit kill weapon if you get close enough, but yes at the moment it's too powerful in general. Keep the thoughts coming!
