  1. IGAD... never heard of it... Care to explain a little bit? I'm studying Electical Engineering if that's how you call it in english, will soon start on my second year. Sometimes though, this guy with a big beard and glasses, about the same size and shape as yours popped up in class, he was i believe from the second year or something. Was a bit of a silent guy. I guess that wasn't you, hahaha!
  2. Hmm... just imagine... Having a match of Renegade X with TS vehicles only... Interesting! I would love to see how this works out! P.S. You live in Breda? What a coincidence, I go to college there! Not only that, your profile picture feels awfully familiar to me... Do you happen to be in college as well?
  3. I refuse to play this game on Steam as it forces my Steam username into the game. I know i can change my username into anything i want, but i have a tradition to create a unique username for nearly every game i play, and i just refuse to change my username every time i play another game.
  4. hey thommy, is it possible to extract models from fan-made multiplayer levels? some of them contain a complete model of the Comm Center, Con-yard, Temple of Nod, extended versions of the Hand of Nod (with an elevator!) and many others I don't recall right now. I know you opened .mix files in RenX (the model/terrain editor), but are there other files that are compatible? I've taken a look a while ago in Renegade's ttfs/files folder where Renegade stores all the files downloaded with scripts 4.0's autodownloader. but i'm not sure if that's where the location of the .mix files are. Every file is stored there, including the never released buildings and models, so it should be, but the names are so cryptic and i'm not able to take a look right now, so yeah... All i know is that there are fully fledged models out there of everything we'd ever need with an interior, just how do we import them...
  5. That doesn't explain it because you steal intel from the Nod base at which you find out about a prisoner camp in M01, where you also hack into the mainframe of a nearby comm center to track the location of the kidnapped scientist which you're trying to save in M02 but fail. It all connects too properly, It's a perfect introduction mission. It also makes no sense because the name M12 is unused. Why i know all of this? I've seen the cutscenes a lot lately for reasons i won't tell yet
  6. Yeah, M00_Tutorial is the tutorial, M13 is the into mission (Scorpion Hunters), M01 - M11 are the 'real' missions. As why the intro mission is called M13 and why the regular missions aren't pushed one forward in numbers, i have no idea.
  7. Oh my god, i wanted to do this for sooo long, i would have loved to have started work on it but never did because there would be dozens of models and fully functional buildings that required re-creation. I don't have any mapping experience nor coding experience in UDK either, or barely anything even. After i saw your tutorial, i wanted to go crazy on it, learn everything but i don't have access to my computer for a couple of weeks... But it seems like you went ahead of me. Enough blabbering, hahaha! Good luck on your project! I guess i'm too late to work on it now.
  8. To all the replies above, yes! Oh man, i'm getting excited by all those suggestions! If people could have such extensive access to player stats... Just imagine if server owners, somehow, could in an easy way configure the way, in some interface, to balance teams, depending on how heavily they count certain stats? Or even ONLY count certain stats in the team balancing process that they find important? Oh man, if this would be possible... *drools* Either way, Agent, i think you've got yourself some great feedback now from others and from people yet to comment!
  9. Well, i personally would like an option which you have to tick first for extended information. It could contain average and/or total building kills, average repair points on vehicles and average repair points or buildings total amount of beacons placed. basically statistics statistics statistics. People would love to see in what they excel most, hahaha. I'd say go crazy just because you can!
  10. Why not make airdrops more expensive for a person every time he uses it? Let's say my first vehicle purchase would be a light tank, It would cost 900 credits and 20 minutes later i buy another vehicle, but this time the price goes up by 50% of it's original value ---> I buy an APC but it costs me 1000? and it will cost me 1250 if i buy a vehicle for the third time? Time or money penalty, i don't mind as long as you get punished harder every time you 'screw up again'.
  11. Tiberium = Botox Nod = wannabe celebrities GDI = hipster rebels A world where an invasive substance is rapidly spreading throughout the world, opposing forces are trying to do what's best for themselves, in Commerce & Control!
  12. Wow, this is amazing! I could really get my hands dirty on this!
  13. Well, actually... It seems like our guy released his map on renegadeforums in 2004, the last post i could find about him was in late 2013, regarding a mod of C&C Renegade he wanted to make, but never finished. His name is Titan1x77. Not being able to find any other usernames that link to him, i googled his username in the hope he was still using it and guess what! He has a twitter account with that name which is still in use! So, if you have to still ask for permission if you really want to remake Uphill... You know where to ask him!
  14. That sounds kind of weird. Are you running windows 10? Maybe that could be the problem, i suppose?
  15. ah yes, EA with their dreaded patching issues. They always managed to screw that up with C&C. The first decade was released for an older operating system, and it didn't even have all the latest patches of that time. An unofficial aptch appeared later for the collection, but it has aged somewhat, new ones have appeared over time which contained more fixes.
  16. That's allright, no problem! Just remember that remaking fan-made maps without permission could end you up with some problems.
  17. Ahh... glacier, huh! I'm sorry to inform you but that map is fan-made as well. Aircraftkiller made it and EA decided to add it to the game in an official patch. You know what, need some inspiration? I've been thinking about this map i wanted to make... but i don't have the skills, and i'm afraid not the motivation to make it to be honest. What if i explain a 'little bit' about this map, maybe you're willing to make something like it? *wide grin* ^-^
  18. That sounds great, but you need permission of the original map maker before you start work on a remake, or else he can get it shut down. Have you taken care of that yet? Off course, you can still make it... man, what's the word for it, what's wrong with me today, hahaha... err... heavily rely? on the original? Not make it quite the same to the point it's a rip-off off course, but inspired off his map design (that was the word i was looking for! hehehehe ).
  19. You can download it from cnc-comm.com, alongside with a map-pack, patch, map builder and other stuff if you're interested in it. I downloaded it from there and used it until i found the cd-roms including the expansion packs for 1 euro on a flea market! If your antivirus says it's unsafe, don't worry! I used the downloads section of that website numerous times, And i never ran into security problems with it.
  20. I'm sorry if this is not the answer you're looking for, as i'm not familiar with making fonts, but i do have the slightest of knowlegde on this one. It can be made by digitalising handdrawings with certain software, or can be made completely from scratch on the computer. Either way, i can't make one for you. However, with some digging (not much really as the first page of google already supplied me with a lot of information! ), i managed to find dome rsther useful information if you want to make one yourself: http://www.creativebloq.com/typography/ ... ce-8133919 This page also has some useful links at the bottom of the page you might be interested in. Now to something i can help you with, which are the fonts used in-game. I have C&C Renegade's ones already installed on my computer. I'm rather sure you can do the same with Red Alert 2's fonts, but i can't confirm this as i don't have access to my computer right now. In the case of C&C Renegade, head to the installation folder of the game and look for files called 54251__.ttf (Regetta Condensed LET Plain, used for buttons) and ARI___.ttf (Arial MT, used for text) and double-click them. This will open an.... errr, how do you call it again, let's just say it opens something, what you need to do is press the install button at the top. It will install the fonts on your computer and it will be ready for use. Now, i'm not sure if this is going to work with Red alert 2. It could be hidden somewhere deep, It could very well not be there at all. Either way, good luck with your font-making quest!
  21. When you're going to ive feedback about this game, remember that some of the changes have been made on purpose. The developers have chosen not to turn Renegade X into a complete remake of the original, but to make it more of a spiritual successor. The changes you mentioned are mostly niches which you got used to and want to have carried over fully, like holding infinite weapons. It's very unlikely going to change again.
  22. ...What? you just lost me here.
  23. Decreasing building max health whenever it gets damaged beyond certain level should take only few lines of code. For example if 50% of building health is armor and other 50% is unrepairable HP then pseudocode would look like this: if (buildingHealth < 0.5*maxHealth) maxHealth = (0.5 + buildingHealth/maxHealth) * maxHealth; If building health drops to 20% then new maximum health would become 70%. I could probably code it today but issue is that there is only 1 or 2 active servers and I imagine admins aren't willing to implement new mutators cuz changing stuff is risky and they might lose players. I thought BroTranquility ( or do you want to be called Yagi Hige? ) was working on this, it could have been someone else, correct me if i'm wrong. There was a problem with the game code which made it impossible to apply at that time, changes have been made however but if i remember correctly it still isn't entirely possible to do so yet. I'll make an edit to my post if i managed to find the forum thread if i can. Here it is! viewtopic.php?f=135&t=75217
  24. They have significantly high failure rates at blocking player to player target acquisition. However they nearly always block targetting a structure. +1 it's still possible to target enemy units inside the smokescreen, it's just kind of difficult to acquire and maintain.
