  1. QUOTE (Demigan @ Sep 2 2008, 10:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> a raweshaw a rocket officer should do good (remember they said they make them track so no matter the missiles speed they will hit unless the arty/MRLS uses the terrain to their advantage, and a raweshaw/pic should do well too, just use the terrain untill you are within shooting range move behind a rock or similar for protection, or just don't run in a straight line and it will be pretty hard to hit you with the MRLS /arty ofcasue a hummer/buggy or apc could be backing it up but hey that is teamwork
  2. you all make it sound so easy to kill them it really is not sneak around and kill them with a shotgunner... yeah right just one problem in 90% of the cases that means going through their base, as they most times stand in their base entrance, another problem is that they often are on higher ground then the vech making it hard to target them, and well having a tech/hotwire or engi with it, well if it is one on foot it will ONLY delay the killing of the vech by 4 secs (they just killl that engi/tech/hotwire first) far from enough to survive to hit any of the enemy base, and should it be yourself that is the tech/engi/hotwire well if you are GDI your vech most likely get hijacked by an SBH instead...
  3. what good is 4 seconds reload then if you got 2 or maybe 4 ramjets? then they can shoot every 2 or even every single second second... you want to kill vechs get a pic or raveshaw in exchange they are not as good on long range but you can quickly decimate those vechs, where ramjets ATM can kill vechs just as effective as the raveshaw and kill inf even better so why get a raveshaw? and with rockets tracking they should be very good against the helis really, and well Renegade is supposed to be about teamwork right? good then lets encourage teamwork by making units good at specific task but bad at others then you need to get a team consisting of more units rather than a team consisting of a lot of same unit that can decimate everything... if you make the ramjet (more like the n00bjet) ineffective against all vech you need some raveshaw to battle vechs, some rocket officers or other units with tracking rockets to battle aircraft and then some thing like either a sniper or something with an MG to battle the enemy infs
  4. QUOTE (R315r4z0r @ Sep 1 2008, 05:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but the thing is the arties and MRLS is also the highest targets and pretty hard to hide anywhere, so even with a diversed team those ramjets can kill the arties and MRLS pretty easy due to weak armor and impossible to miss targets, and those units are the hardest hitters and supposed to be long range weaponry, yet they can be killed sooooo easy from a even longer range than they can shoot at, it simply makes no sense to me
  5. the things is you can still stand right next to your base and kill the hardest hitting enemy vech (arty and MRLS long before the enemy have a chance to get within range and once they do get in range chances are all their arties/MRLS's are dead and the ramjets can easily retreat into their base to refill and then go out again continue what they were doing...
  6. Fobby I understand your reasons for the ramjet, but with the UE3 wont the rockets track better? making things like the mammy, MRLS and well yeah even rocket officers quite good against aircraft compared to in Renegade? also the real problem with the ramjets is that once they find one of those light vehicles its decimate them in a few shots with no chance to fight them back not even the artillery units can fight them back and they are supposed to be long ranged... maybe what about giving ramjets a shorter range, so it is easier to fight them once they begin shooting you, still I am not saying it should be easy to fight them but at least make it possible
  7. QUOTE (Ban4life @ Aug 28 2008, 11:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This dont have to be true as we are talking another engine it might be possible to have it so the PT and building health are linked or something... hell I even think it should be possible with w3d engine too as some TC mods to renegade (like AR) have a few modles health linked as they are part of the same vehcile but need to be seperate modle for some reasons but apart from that all you said is true/I agree with
  8. QUOTE (NEFobbyGEN @ Aug 20 2008, 06:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well... under looks pretty different too, with the snow theme it got...
  9. QUOTE (Pendullum @ Aug 20 2008, 10:07 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LIES I never done that QUOTE (Demigan @ Aug 20 2008, 11:31 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The black concrete is where the vehicles are built in the current version and they don't drive away, though I doubt taht have anything to do with it, seeing as Nod and GDI vehicles don't use to be built at the same base...
  10. I never had any lag issues either in UT3, neither in the retail game, nor the demo, and that doesn't sound like you are lacking bandwidth, that actually more than I had not so long ago, though I got upgraded so I have more now...
  11. Not to mention it prolly is one of the easiest to mod engines so far
  12. QUOTE (Combine 108 @ Jul 31 2008, 04:24 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wouldn't necessary say so it could very well drive smart, if it example drives behind cover when it go forth and back between the ref and tib field
  13. QUOTE (epicelite @ Jul 30 2008, 01:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> driving the main harvester would be stupid, as a n00b might take it and drive it into the enemy base and get it slaughtered and your team stands without money for once... and beside how can you know how stupid the harvesters gonna be, remember this is not the renegade engine, and last I checked the UT3 AI is pretty smart
  14. QUOTE (NEFirestorm @ Jul 29 2008, 05:17 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> indeed it is, specially if you like Red Alert, though there seem to be lot of newbs/n00bs sadly these days that don't even own common sense, this wasn't the case so much in version .9935 where that game took place, but then beta have lots more units and even better graphics, but that is not the topic in here
  15. QUOTE (GDIViperM @ Jul 28 2008, 09:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> okay I searched a bit and found out and did have the pic still on filefront... and well seems like i did remember wrong 815 and 360 points still not much though
  16. also I guess you are aiming for higher poly count in your maps than Renegade had right?
  17. QUOTE (Killa @ Jul 28 2008, 02:48 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I even think more like 1-2 people on each team was attacking and there was I think about 10 people on each team... so yeah
  18. QUOTE (madkill @ Jul 27 2008, 02:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why should they make less intelligent bots than what is already in UT3, beside it would be boring to play against bots that wouldn't kill your base really, and even Renegades bots could attack buildings (though they rarely got far enough to hit them as they ran rambo into the enemy base defences)
  19. QUOTE (GDIViperM @ Jul 19 2008, 12:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well I think I have a screen somewhere to proove it did happen (yes you can't see the map it was on as it was an endgam screen SS but you can sreen it happened on some map)
  20. QUOTE (Unit75 @ Jul 20 2008, 12:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> true true QUOTE (Unit75 @ Jul 20 2008, 12:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> accepted you know been on a camp this week so haven't been able to before
  21. QUOTE (Shouted @ Jul 23 2008, 05:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if you don't understand a word english you shouldnh't be playing anything online, as everyone speaks english online
  22. voted first option even though I do play normal UT3 from time to time but it is so rarely that I don't say I bought the game for it
  23. bah why did it have to be when I was on a camp >_>
