Hey guys, hope you are all well.

Just played a match and some guy destroyed our obelisk (health bar was 100/27 last time i checked).

Then a discussion started from several players accusing him of hacking. Modrequest was initiated, a dev asked if someone is recording, couple mins later a guy said I should upload this clip on the forums. So here Iam. Hope it can help.

Best Regards

Hey,

good news - snowl is permanetly banned.

To keep the matches fair and fun, it is important to remove hackers as soon as possible, so thank you for helping with that and improving our further gameplay experience.

See you on the battlefield!

Hey!

How was the guy able to hack the game? Can you provide more technical insight? I think it would be more useful to understand what actually happened.

We do not discuss methods of cheating, but you can rest assured, we address them ;)

Should you have any such concern, feel free to contact a moderator.

Explanation of possible methods on cheating is a very risky thing to do. A more tech savvy and less honest people among us would have the chance to decipher what actually happened with only a few hints that we drop and thus any form of explanation would do much more harm than good.

Sorry, but such things are not something we can really disclose lightly

hehe... its ok if you do wish to keep things closed... no problem it is your right to remain silent since your work is based on closed source code...

Food for thought:

Just to let you in on something... there are real engineers out there who patch well known vulnerabilities and actually disclose how they work... and the reason even after disclosed MUCH more than simple "hints" those will no longer be exploitable is because they actually got fixed and there is no harm in revealing the FULL details anyway...  :P

Just one of the many examples can be found in the link below:

(feel free to get as much hint as you want in that publicly available white paper).

That is more of a security issue rather than a “game cheating” issue, very, very different situations. It makes 100% sense to release info about exploits and security stuff when data and sensitive info is at risk, not so much for games.
