CNC-Tomb Redux


Explore an Old Egyptian Temple which has rumoured to be Haunted by Ghosts! Meanwhile GDI and Nod are fighting for Tiberium.

A quick update / hot-fix for the vehicle spawn at infantry only areas has just released

nope, it's blocked. it wasn't blocked some mapversions ago, but Thommy fixed that after we reported it.

The spawn inside the Tomb was just a faulty crate setting ;)

It didn't... According to Try-Out's observation, it doesn't happen every harvester-trip, but it does happen on an average six times an hour. There was an instance, when it got stuck 3 time in a row.

It is always difficult to fix a Harvester, because there are differences between the server and the Skirmish. We have to be patient here.

Version 1.9.2 is released! Check it out!

 

I've resettet Paths at Nod Refinery to make sure haverster won't get stuck. If he does get stuck, it is his own problem!

Yes, Kuja had a stuck GDI harvy per dump on Eyes.

Nod harvy is barely touching the Ref now while dumping Tiberium :P but it seems to work.

@TK0104 I added a bot to the server and will check the IRC in a couple of hours again if there are any "Nod harvester destroyed" notifications ;)

I know harverster doesnt touch ref but thats the only way it works :(

 Hmm, are there really ghosts in this map? I know something like that happened to Thommy in one of the other fan-made maps. After the scary thing popped up, he said in the forum "Dude! Get rid of the scary thing in that one area! It's not good, it really isn't." Do I sense a revenge antic coming from Thommy?

Ive noticed that lots of your culling values for particles are at 6000.. maybe you could even reduce that to like 3000 - 4000 at some places.

I think its also good to look at the fog volumes, you're having almost no fog but you do have the drawcall.. http://prntscr.com/g792rk Make it like 3000 or so.

You can also cull the HON/strip/ref etc..

So with the suggestions of @Ruud033 and the tutorials of @kenz3001 I have now optimized the map a lot. I compared the same spot (in this case the GDI Front Entrance) with the Domaint Directional Light Version and the Directional Light Version. The DDL version reached  48fps which was quite good. The DL version, which will be online soon, reached perfect 60fps with in-game view in the SDK.

 

Question: How to show FPS in-game??? Then I can check the amount of fps in-game and check it out on other maps

To dig even deeper, you can use the gameplayprofiler that's built in, to use it see this video:

(I know the quality is shitty but you get the point)

And to analyse the data, check this program;

When you're done with this you'll find the most resource consuming items in your level so you can do something about it!

It's a very very small hot-fix that fixes the preview image (forgot to disable SRGB) and endgame cam is now improved (it's done in official maps)
