TheOlsenTwins
Hey, As the fast patches are really awesome, but always revert all my game config - isnt it possible to exclude the config files from getting reset every time you update the game? I dont know how often i have reconfigured all the settings in my game.. (or is there a fix to that, that im not seeing)? On a sidenote: is it allowed to play with FOV 120, and if not, shouldnt the console command also be restricted to 100 ?
RoundShades
Yes, and Yes. You have to set it to 120 in config (might've upped it to 120 on in-game slider actually lately), and to keep the config, you have to find the config file and set it to "read only" in it's properties. I believe it is in "renegade-x/UDKGame/Config/DefaultSystemSettings.cfg" and "UDKSystemSettings.cfg".
Schmitzenbergh
2 methods are possible from our side. We don't include the default DefaultRenegadeX.ini in our updates; The launcher can make a backup of the DefaultRenegadeX.ini file and place it back after update. I'll look into which one is the best to use. For now, just make a copy of "Renegade X\UDKGame\Config\DefaultRenegadeX.ini" and place it somewhere safe. Agent
Do not do either of those things. There are plenty of better ways to implement that based on how UDK parses INI files. You can read more about that here.

I really love the frequent updates, but it is still kind of annoying ...
Fffreak9999
The only INI I had change yesterday was UDKRenegadeX.ini, which holds version information, and since the version changes every patch, it has to alter this file.
Totem Arts Staff Madkill40 Posted February 27, 2018 Totem Arts Staff Share Posted February 27, 2018 So this is the one ini which won't be overwritten? "Renegade X\UDKGame\Config\DefaultRenegadeX.ini" 'DefaultRenegadeX.ini'
Totem Arts Staff yosh56 Posted February 27, 2018 Totem Arts Staff Share Posted February 27, 2018 Weird.. I haven't had it reset any of my settings, sans 5.3, but that's because stuff was added/removed from some of the settings files..
Fffreak9999
DefaultRenegadeX.ini is what UDKRenegadex.ini is based off, meaning the default overrides the normal where key information doesn't match. Also I haven't had any issues with settings changing either.
Syntharn
Wait what, the FOV can be increased past 100? without going into third person? This is a big deal for me, my mouse sense gets screwed up in my head when jumping between 120 FOV unreal tournament 4 and 100 FOV Renegade X. thx for the info!
Syntharn
This is fantastic, ended up editing this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\UDKGame\Config\UDKXSettings.ini
