  1. Just my opinion, but I think is best to leave the mines as they are now. If the team refuses to ban from mining the player that is destroying the team's mines (after trying to reach out that player and telling them what they did wrong)...then that team is really hopeless for that round. I fear, as Mr. Tree, that if you make mines disarmable by all players it will just give team hamperers more tools to further kill the round for you. Best thing to do is to try to educate said player to mine correctly and to ban him from mining if he refuses to listen. One way or an other he will have to learn.
  2. I could kill some of your brethren to make a calendar out of them.... > On a serious note..hope to see you there next week!
  3. It was nice pug, even if there were fewer players than usual , it was really nice. About that mammy / med thing..we saw it and we laughed at it, it was really funny ><.
  4. Idk how much matters what a random player like me tells you , but you guys did a great job with the game. You work for free and you are just a handfull of people without the corporation tools / time table / founds / etc. This game will grow, it got the attention of great people and bad people alike. Let's not forget that this game was atacked by retards DDOS-ing and hacking and what not that might of thrown away part of the players ( im glad CT came up with a great server though, that gave the midle finger to those idiots), which means the game does get the attention of the people. Might be a good idea (i know it has been said for quite a while) to launch it on Steam. I think Steam has free games section too? (so EA won't cry that somehow you make money on this game or whatever else they might not like). I am really positive that if you get this game on a platform like Steam or even Origin it will grow even more in popularity and maybe a new trailer could do too. I remember i learned about this game from a trailer on youtube that i randomly stumbled into. Have faith in yourselves devs, for your work on Renegade X is great ! (im not saying that it doesnt have bugs ...but lets be serious: every freaking game has its bugs and balance issues.). P.S. My apologies for off-topic.
  5. You better bring the thinking tune and let us have a debate on tactics too. Im also looking forward to the next PUG ^^.
  6. We did have 40 players in the first games and ended up with 35 ish or so @ the Complex game.
  7. Sounds good to limit the air vehicles or to banish them at all. Maybe make 2 versions of Lakeside just for the sake of making both sides happy? I can see the non air vehicles map working in a PUG but in Pub where not all people care for teamwork (atleast not at the level of teamplay that you find on the PUG games) it won't work so well. If you limit the aircraft numbers to around 3..it would be interesting because 3 aircraft wont be able to rush something alone but they will still be able to do other "tactics" like sneaking a hotie on the refinery backdoor or on the river , scouting , fast transport to silos etc. If you remove the aircrafts totally that would also be fun. There would be plenty of tanks fight and infantry rushes would become stronger just from the fact that you wont have 150150105 aircrafts being able to return to base in less than 10 seconds and rain fire on the infantry. You will also be able to siege a base quite good if you get @ their Silo, but in same time you can stop a siege easily aswell. Nod won't be so underpowered either. The bases themselves are on top of the hills which makes it easy for arties to defend without fully exposing themselves...not to mention flamers that can literally hide at the end of the strip and burn to ashes any tank that made it to the top after the artie's rain of fire. Same thing goes for GDI...you can literaly rain fire with meds from the top of the hill where the gdi base is on the atacking Nod forces. You will be able to siege and counter the enemy sieges effectively. If you are afraid that GDI will overpower Nod's vehicles....then I rise you the question " Who forces Nod to play only with vehicles? " You saw what you can do with a handfull of LCG on maps that are supposed to be GDI sided - see the last Under pug where Yosh's team kept GDI inside their base for the most of the time with LCG spam. All in all ...limiting aircrafts on lakeside or allowing no aircrafts at all sounds good, but for the sake of PuB games where people might choose Lakeside just to fly orcas/apaches I suggest making 2 versions of the same map : 1 flying and 1 non-flying.
  8. Nice to know! Most likely ill be there to peck around then .
  9. Is it open for anyone or just developers and selected few can join?
  10. Bah...screw the score. Pug was fun...we had plenty of funny moments like the sbh rush...chem rush getting ruined by 1 farland...then gunner rush getting ruined by a random ltank that was just passing by...2 noob sbhs hunting a poor sakura spy for 5 minutes chasing her all around the big bunkers on under XD.....the apc rush and the outside c4 rush chaos on tomb and many more. Can't wait for the next pug ^^
  11. Field is fun for the newcomers and unfun for the oldies. Why? Newcomers get to experiment (mess) around with tanks / different infantry without having their base rushed 24/7 and having to have all hands on deck to defend or atack. You can literally leave 2-3 tanks to defend and one or two good raveshaws/snipers/shotguns in the tunnel and you wont lose the base anytime soon. Oldies hate it for this exact reason. They have seen the map before...they passed through hours of marathon on field ( and under) and got fed up with it and they already know the basics of each vehicle/infantry. Thats the reason in my opinion. P.S. Maybe Field could be the go to map for tutorial. Its hard to lose a base and you can try out any vehicle in the field and any infantry in the tunnel (and the field too). Perfect map for newcomers to discover the game's units.
  12. To be honest...I enjoyed the pug. The fights were meh (cause we were losing) but the fun was in the chat actually and people laughing at each other ( in a good way ) + psycho madkill telling people that spawn in the silo to atack the tib field (or smth like that) XD . About balance ...the balance was actually good. We had competent people (the other team seemed to have that too)...but we didn't have the coordination. As in, even if both teams had an equal number of veterans....our team just seemed to have people not wanting to command but trying to command ( intended or not intended by said people). We had many ideas flying in the TS ....inf rush , tanks rush , destroy the tanks , inf rush while they are busy with tanks etc. About the people not listening to me when i was asking for money or when i was saying stuff...thats because i didnt talk in TS and i consider that it is my fault for that and not theirs. Is hard to concentrate on a fight , speak in ts in same time and also read every text that appears on your screen and try to spot when a player says smth and when theres just automatic messages like ( ctrl + 1,2 ,3, 4 etc). I have no idea if someone overmined in the other games...but on Goldrush we actualyl had an overminer because we had no mines in the PP (not going to name him unless he wants to) so it wasnt really a "noob" but an attempt to fix bad mining that just went wrong. What is worth noting is that at the begining when Yosh and Bong didnt make it in time people actually organised themselves and all was ok. Everyone remained in their teams , everyone waited patiently for Freak (i think) to fix the teams and didnt start panicking and changing teams themselves or moaning / wanking / crying etc. Big thumbs up to that people ! Moral of the story : Let's not forget that it is a game...and the pug is an event meant not to be a competition to prove that 1 team is better than the other ...it is an event where people are meant to come together into a fun game , wether they lose or not , to have a good laugh in ts and to socialize dare i say? (as in actually talking to each other , laughing at each other , calling each other crazzy people - which is fun etc.). So just take it easier. As tips? What I can think of is just that if you see something happening , announce your team and help in fixing that issue. Examples: You see mines going down? Yell out in ts that mines are down and start checking ALL buildings You see 2-3 flamers and you think they are forming a rush ? Stay there..peek at them and keep your team informed about the change (wether the tanks number increased or they just went away). Try to remember that the commander is a human being (psycho , drunk , high or not ) and he can't keep up if you have 10 people telling him different stuff at the same time. This is why is important to take action on your own (for instance : I saw that people werent called out to defend so I tried to defend myself. I tried to keep mines up , I tried to patrol buildings etc ) The PUG went better and if people learn to take the event as a fun betwen friends and not a competition it will go even better. P.S. - Sorry team if my defense sucked....as a make up gift I will present the head of the YOSH that i hunted on field (#getrekt Yosh ).
  13. Ill be there with armed mines and loaded guns .
  14. I would like to report a bug on the mountain from the midle of the map. Nod can use apache to get on the mountain (right above the end of gdi's ref path) and if they are chem trooper they can safely stay there on mountain and plant a nuke beacon right "above" or next to the ref (which will kill the ref) on the mountain (which is unreachable by gdi - atleast unreachable in time and without dying due to tib poisoning from the mountain). Here are some Screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/19ZVW
  15. I guess is the general mood? I had a pretty big break from RenegadeX and when I came back I did notice a general "toxicity?". People seem ....too serious? too angry? I have no idea if it is because there are new people that don''t realise the importance of teamplay , comunication in game and tbh..the importance of having a good community (a.k.a being friendly to each other , not complaining day and night etc.) or if the "old people" (the ones that you''ve seen both in-game and on forums for quite a while) just changed. Maybe is a bit of both. Also, my apologies if my post about setting up some rules made Yosh or Bong feel like I don't appreciate their work or that I think that they didn't try a lot of different ways to make the pug enjoyable for everyone ( its clear that you guys do your best....drunk *Yosh* or not drunk and tbh the pug exists because of you ).
  16. Ill just post my opinion that might be very wrong or might be ok: What I think the PUG lacks is coordination and a standard set of rules or "code" if you want to call it. As examples we could have few rules like: -> People show up 20-15 minutes prior to the pug so we have time to do a proper draft/ balance and to pick captains (actual people that proved that they can lead). -> If one team has a bug (like a drunk harvi that got stuck) the admin of the server or/and the players from both teams should adress the bug and then resume to the match (so we can keep the fairplay feeling) -> Have a list of people that show up constantly (yosh , bong , quinc , lava , david , minji and many other that we see at the PUG each week) and split them in 2 teams (the idea is that the people that usually show up each week are also the people that are listening to the TS and actually doing what is said...atleast when the spirits are calm). Would be a good idea to add to the list what those people are good at so you can have somewhat equal roles in both teams ( ex: 1 sniper per team , 1 sneaky per team , 1550105 defenders per team and so on). -> To avoid "snowballing" (a.k.a when a team is literally raping the other) i suggest to let the loosing team choose the next map. This way we could keep up a bit of the loosing team's spirit up and give them a chance to win a match. This could lead to somewhat even scores and to both sides having fun because let's face it...no one enjoys it when you get absolutely raped all night. Thats all I can think of at the moment. P.S. : I am not claiming that all these ideas are mine, some of them are the ideas from other people's minds. Let's not forget that handpicking each player and balancing them out is a tedious job which takes time if you want to do it right, so we should help the organizers do it by letting them know that we will show up (we could post on the forum if we are making it or not) and actually being there 15-20 minutes prior to the game so they dont have to rush it. This week for instance they did try to balance out the teams..but theres just so much that you can do in what? 5 minutes?
  17. Since everyone is posting their opinions here about the map i will do so aswell (my apologies if my reasoning is flawed). What I really find a bit unfair is how clumped up are the GDI buildings (making it easier to defend all of them at once and to transition from one building to an other to repair) and how far away is the nod AS from the HON and REF. Now I know that the Strip is massive and you can't do much about that, but wouldnt be a good idea to move the air tower to the other side of the strip maybe? (from betwen the strip and the river to betwen hon and strip).
  18. I like your idea to go even deeper with the idea of Nod being elite infantry and GDI being elite tanks .Buff up the LCG / Raveshaws / rocketmen? to be more resilient against tanks . I think the LCG is doing ok dmg against the tanks at this point but the downside is , as BroTranquilty said the low surviability of them against tanks. LCG could make the perfect defender/answer to meds rush to be honest. They wont be able to go too much on assault due to limited ammo (unlike tanks) but defending they would be able to stand against tanks. Of course , they will still be open to sniper fire...but that should be dealt normally with Nod having their own sniper to snipe the sniper so the sniper doesn't snipe the Nod LCG.
  19. Are mutators able to tweak damage/armor/hp/bullet speed/etc?Perhaps you could make a mutator designated for pugs and make the future tweaks for the pub ( since that is the main playtime of Renegadex) and just add the mutator each time we pug with its own tweaks that are better for the pug. If the mutator is impossible maybe just add more customization to the game - server side (that would do same thing that is mentioned on the mutator above) Short of the idea: make the changes based on the pub games and just add a mutator /settings that has(have) its(their) own tweaks based on pug games. My apologies if is a stupid idea
  20. I like david's idea aswell. Would add uniqueness to the classes. At the moment very very few people go for the 500 sniper due to the nerf so it would revive it to turn the havoc/sakura into a truly commando unit that is supposed to go behind enemy lines and .....wait for it.....wreak HAVOC in the enemy's base. It would also discourage people going full lone wolf due to the bigger cost of the infiltration unit and might actually encourage teamworking aswell , especially since at the moment the tech/hotwire does exactly 100% building (which means that the infiltration with hotie/techie has a lots of chances to fail).
  21. Even if the ddos-er is in ts , we would know then who he is since the people that are in the PuG are usually the same bunch of people. Ill be there for the pug aswell btw.
  22. Maybe we can try to do something else (if too few will join due to the calling message) like joining a normal server and just teaming up on ts? Perhaps we could use Agent's server and just hide it from the servers list...it should be enough? There are plenty of solutions if people want to (we saw that last pug when the pug went on anyway , even if the main / usual organizers didn't make it last week due to different problems). As Bananas said , it would be a shame to just call it ...people ( atleast me ) have been waiting this pug since...last pug , but I do understand Bong's side aswell ,even with the protection the ddos-er managed to crash the server so it is something pretty serious (might be wrong since i don't know jack about servers and how to handle them ).
  23. Is there 1 more place for a noob like me? (got ts3 ready)
