I wish folks would push more once they arrive at the front door in large enough numbers. It seems especially funny when you see 4 mammy and extra vehicles with support repair personnel - all camped at the front gate. I wonder sometimes if it is the effect of marathon games. It seems kind of contradictory, but maybe some folk are just not thinking about ending the game as much as they are thinking of the fight.

Thanks for the tips i will check those games out. I used to play and might play again: World of Tanks. It is a lot of slugfest type action, but sometimes even as an unpaying player i could score good and there is some teamwork at timess. The variety of tanks and other pieces play nicely to the differences inherent in the vehicles ie: heavy/light, armor/big gun etc. And this is not fps... but i like to play HSX.com which is a free game where you trade stock in movies. Fun way to see what is coming down the road. and then there is always Kdice ... ..

A new idea based on original tiberium dawn
isupreme replied to Aetherius's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
Welcome Aetherius, While i don't think i want to wait for my vehicle, i agree sometimes the pacing is too fast for my taste. I just settle into a good fight and bam my base is messed up. Maybe some of the planned changes will change this. -
Thanks for the great work!

I understand there are plans to change the way the next map is selected..... What are they? I was thinking this might be a useable concept. Say the map list is 12 long. Allow servers to choose how many must be played before allowing the full list to be available again. For example, one server might say if you play 6 different maps then all 12 return to available for voting. Another server might insist on all 12 be played - probably a Marathon server. It will be interesting to see how the future works since the choices have been left up to the players in the past. I thought that would be best but the constant walls choice has shown me otherwise........

I do not like it when EVA goes on and on about who is over mining. ( i don't know if this a server thing or game thing) 1. I do not like the feeling of this Big One from on high watching over everything and deciding who has sinned. 2. I was twice falsely accused of wrong doing. It is not over mining to place AT mines. It is appropriate to use mines in defense of an attack in the enemy base. 3. When a lot of people over mine the announcements become like spam. When the Announcements are wrong and ignored then clearly it is not useful.

What time do you enter a match? I'm very late.ds

This Dinosaur Thanks you. Both for the decisions and the info. -
I have been very happy with the new beta 3, but it it time for me to raise my #1 issue atm. When a game ends and we all go on the next map, i typically begin 35-45 seconds into the match. I am no longer surprised to find an enemy next to me shooting me as i begin. The first rushes are underway and sometimes the game is decided as i begin. When do others typically begin? And, is there anything i can do to help my situation? My machine is barely to spec for the game.

I am happy that i don't Always crash in these moments, anymore like i did in beta 2. At least in beta 3 it only happens sometimes... and i get a big lag event for the others. I can handle the lag as it is so much better than always DC. Still, I hope a way can be found to improve the situation.

I think i have been all over the spectrum in my behavior with mines. Lately i try to use recognized patterns because i enjoy the effectiveness, but sometimes i like to use mines elsewhere. I often get harsh comments for some of my favorite places. { mining that is just team hampering is a separate issue } I give this issue a fair amount of thought. Lately my thought is this: We do need to give some room for personal placement styles and decisions. If a player is using mines in a different way i try to change my gameplay. For instance i might play more defensively if doors aren't mined. Other times if someone is using mines in a forward area i will try to make use of it.

A parking garage structure could work to help our gameplay. I picture a simple structure with 5 slots and a mct. Blowing the MCT would also destroy vehicles. A place to store stolen vehicles. ! Destroy the structure and vehicles to get your vehicle limit up! A place to store your own vehicles when you think you might lose the ability to make them soon. A place to store your vehicle if you change your tactics to counter the enemy. A place to put extra vehicles teammates purchase. *this is Sweet because you might use it to store that vehicle that is just sitting around to be stolen. They would need some sort of actual locking mechanism. Whereby the person who parked it is only one can remove or unlock access. Or... maybe it just keeps the vehicle from being taken by the enemy.... ? Only one vehicle per person keeps it from being spam filled. This could combine well with a repair point that fixes vehicles.

I am getting crashed and onscreen i see a big explosion each time. Are there settings choices i can make to eliminate this? I have most everything low or off because my computer is minimal spec. Is this happening to others? Known?

I was thinking even a do nothing crate that hung out for awhile would be like a lure. Could be fun for sniping crowd. Or even as a distraction .. The ability to place death crates would toooo much. tho it is tempting.

An idea regarding Renegade X's far future
isupreme replied to Kriemhild Gretchen's topic in Renegade X
The big money is to translate it into minecraft...... o0. I agree the gameplay is really the deal and all Renegade stuff is just fluff. -
just a thought. Crates are like magnets in some games. The ability to place a false or dummy crate might make for some fun.

I like to see a battle develop. Front lines form. go back and forth. one side pushes well together..... So i guess thats the stalemate idea. I like to see it form and break apart.

I am particularly interested in this aspect of the proposition. Creating more endgame scenarios is beneficial to a rich player experience. Those that focus on teamwork or cooperation are the most fulfilling to me. This may require experience to remain after death. Or the tendency to want your experience may counter the desire to push into the base.

With Beta3 due any moment, i would like to take this opportunity to Wish all Good Fortune to the Developers. You have done a marvelous job of moving this Unique game forward. I have already had many enjoyable moments of teamwork, surprises, enjoyable game scenerios, and good old fashioned mayhem. I look forward with anticipation to the future of RenegadeX ! Good luck with all your efforts as we move forward.

Now that you mention it... yeah. I remember playing a map that had a repair pad. I remember using it now. For nod it sat behind the Oblisk and for Gdi right in the middle of the base area. I enjoyed it. Orcas seemed to make active use of it.
-
Not quite a tech building... but i wonder if we could use: A repair point where you can roll up your vehicle for repairs without the need of another player. It would be nice if you were defending your base. Did this exist in some earlier version or am i thinking of another game?

Thanks !

I didnt see anything in notes about it. I am looking forward to such. Did i miss it? Is it included?

I would shift the airstrike to emphasize damage to players and not change the damage to vehicles. I would like to see it used primarily as another tactic to defend a beacon. This is Especially Nice because no one player can carry a beacon and an airstrike. So it encourages teamwork between players.s

The America bashing is really really lame. Pick on the server not the country please. People should be encouraged to enjoy the game in the way they like.

Your favorite little thing about the game

The boink sound... never tire of it.
