TD was the very first influential game I've played on my 486. My classmate lent it to me on 14 heavily zipped floppies.. then I had to install it. I was in awe watching the EVA install video, I though this is how military grade software must looked like. And that was just the beginning of my journey with C&C. When I heared that my favorite "episode" is going to be remastered I knew it's time to finally pay for those 14 pirated floppies The remaster is very faithful to the original, maybe too faithful which is a bit of flaw. In 2-3 days I finished the GDI and Nod campaigns on hard, but if you haven't got into the game I can't recommend that difficulty. Some maps - mainly the mid-late ones without the MCV- are barely winable. Poke me if you up for some clunky multiplayer.

Pushing a single button wouldn't reflect how I feel about this part Mint. You've spoken from my heart and I'm glad that you also have the balls to speak out for this. This is not "my game" -to quote one of them-, not the group of my friends' game and not solely the developers' game. This is our game, the players', the mods', server owners' and the developers' altogether, in a word: a community. RenegadeX is like an ark. We are sailing in this ark for quite some time, enclosed with a stagnating amount of people. Over the time we've got to know many of these people, some of them became our friends, some of them are friendly faces, some of them are just known nicknames silently playing with us. Also there are a few out there, who we simply can't stand for their attitudes, but we are still sailing in the same boat and want the best for our ark, even if we have personal disagreements. And it's all fair game until small elements starting only care about their own enjoyment at the cost of the whole. One day, I want this ark to reach its destination by having a healthy community on board and not a hungry bunch waiting for the fresh meet to hunt down. If we carry on with the stacking by accepting it, the bad reputation of this is going to precede the game's release and I doubt it will attract or even keep the new people. And for the love of Kane, do something with the 64 player limit already. How many times do we need to bring up its effects on the game?

Nobody said that you don't care about the game. You certainly care about it and you do care about your friends as well, no questions about that. The problem is that you see playing with friends good; the community with plenty of toxic, "bitchy" people -as you refer to them- is bad. Therefore: fun with friends>community as a whole. What actually is happening that stacking (which is not only done by your group) potentially ruins games and yes it does generate some angry players. At the end, the community suffers the most not only because stackers can make games unenjoyable, but the very few toxic players make it worse as well. You are contradicting yourself. By your standards we could even kick the stackers as it has no "lasting" impact on the community/game. So what is this fuss all about then? On a serious note, laughing at this really shows that you don't get it. When you take a noticeable action, you not only represent yourself, you represent your group as well. There's huge lasting impact being irresponsible for your actions: the lose of trust. The higher you up, the more impactful it is. With responsibilities come standards and accountability. If you have been taken accountable for the way of your actions and proved wrong, then you missed the standards. Repeat it a few times and you are out of sync of the standards. Not really, but I do understand your perspective why it is one the worst thing could happen. But there's a bigger picture out there.

Again, how is this related? It kinda ruins your credibility being a hypocrat? We served together on FPI, AGN, we used to be buddies during the CT times, hell even before that. I know how you operate and I'm just going scratch the surface for the sake of this "debate". You are very resourceful and contributed a lot to FPI from the knowledge you gained at AGN. Nobody questions that and we are very greateful what you have done. You did your best as moderator as well, even if it sometimes resulted in the most out of the line moderation we've ever seen here. The moderation mishaps that may arise at FPI aren't intentional unlike the ones you commited, not to mention the difference in magnitudes. So pointing your finger at us really feel... off to me. @Agent @Sarah. Listen, I love every single line of code you've put into the game. But it won't make you right. The problem is that you got disconnected from the community. For you Sarah I know this is normal, you stated yourself that you don't care about the community, it's all about playing with friends. I think everyone can respect that, but you also have to respect the community. In my eyes the enjoyment of the majority of the community worth more than a few people having fun. The community has been constantly expressing that had enough of the stacking. Currently we are even having a running poll which is not conclusive yet, but it clearly shows that the #1 problem RenegadeX currently facing is stacking. And your reaction is to abolish FPI's measures whose aim is to improve on the player experience? Guys, please come back to the ground. What is this project all about? Is it about a game called RenegadeX as a developer sees how it should be, or is it about a game which is meant to be fun for the wide audience?

Was a good game. My only regret is that I just got a Sakura spy shortly before you blew up the server

Welcome to RenX! I'm from Jelly... although it has been years I played there. Afaik Jelly is/was the dominant vanilla server (compared to the more fun MPF) so you can find quite a few people who played there... a long ago.

C'mon, Sarah don't give me that elitist PUG bullshit.

@taishō Yes I have. lol? In good hands it achives a similiar efficiency in disposing infantry. Once again, Syd/Rav are anti tank units, now with penetrating shots and a fully automatic gun with infinite ammunition. And all this for the same 1k pricetag... Most of the vanilla RenX maps don't have GTs on infantry paths or at all, yet teamwork still can handle SBHs. And what's wrong with early rushes? One side managed to play as a team to achieve something meaningful. The other side had all the tools to counter it. Is that ruining a game because the other side was careless? I don't think so. As Mint said it shuts down options for both sides. Just to clarify, I have no problem if mapmakers put their maps full of GTs, they have all the liberty to use their artistic freedom as they wish. At the end, players will vote anyways whether they like a map or not. If a map is voted rarely it means that players don’t find it as fun as the other given options. One reason behind this could be a generally slower gameplay and limited options due to the GTs. Also most players run as free infantry; sure is fun to charge with them a strong pillbox which tears apart 1-2 units before they can even get to it. Just my 2c.
-
Keep in mind you that Rav and LCG are anti tank units. Why should they counter infatry or anti infantry units? We had enough of that crap for the past 2 years. Not to mention that now Syd/Rav have Patch's old and buffed Fletchette SMG which made the whole nerf a buff, but fuck logic. Bad or lazy map design. Agree. In my opinion the main problem is that Mammoths make GDI even more boring. All GDI has to do is to survive until most people can afford Mammoths, in the meantime they already gained some ranks which scales better with the Mammoth specs. Nod basically has to prevent that from happening otherwise they got run over with relatively low effort. A good counter would be arties, but since most maps are "smallish" Mammoths can return fire (once again veterancy even gives them a greater range). In my opinion lowering the basic stats like armor and/or range would balance it somewhat, alternatively reducing the its veterancy gains. Lowering its speed didn't/doesn't matter.

I’ve been sitting on this for too long. Now that new patch(es) are about to be realeased you might want to look into this. If my memory serves B4 was released with an updated UDK. With plenty of new nice features a few unwanted introduced as well. One of these were chromatic abberation and the stylish vignette effect. I remember people couldn’t define what really changed with the image quality back then. Nowadays probably many got used to it even if it’s not desirable and that’s not just a subjective matter. First lemme show you the difference: On the below picture you can see what we have today, distorted UV of the red and blue colors at the edge of the screen (check Refinery top and the hand of Hand of Nod :D). That part of the screen is sligthly darker aka the vignette effect, but this is mostly visible in the corners as this is a round layer. This one is nice, clean of any aberration. The problem is that you can’t remove these by disabling the post process' not that you want to disable all PP just to get rid of these. Could you guys hook into the PostProcess node and make them toggleable? Or remove it altogether as it impacts the perfomance around 5-10% depending on your video card. More FPS is always welcomed.

@yosh56 @taishō Not really. We (EKT) considered TMX as friends, can't say for sure the same from the other side as I was not part of it, but I experienced the same. There was no toxicity after clan wars, Munkei teached me some sneaking routes, went on bug hunting with Skeeze, Ruud shared his carefully guarded Crashsite with me and B0ng always helped me when I was reaching out for him... just to name a few. Of course tastes were different on matters like mines or PUG, but as a clan there was no hate between each other. If someone took this on another level like trolling, being toxic or abusing powers... well that's another cool story, but those did not represent the clans. And thankfully a splinter cell from TMX created CT to keep the picture clean. For the reasons above I disagree that toxicity kept those 2-3 servers filled. If you truly believe that, was it worth to drive away one of the pillar community? Let's be real, it was proper seeding methods, better player pool and community members were motivated to play the type of game they preferred. Not sure if we only have one community (CT) or FPI counts as another one, but it seems we stucked with one server which is apparently not CT. Back then we didn't have to think about mitigating and splitting players to help populating EKT-TMX. It's kinda sad that nowadays we have the tool for this -and the need as well-, but apparently the standards are/still different between FPI-CT to do so. Since the very beginning, I'm failing to see the logic behind the 64 player servers. Some say we have a stagnating amount of players, others that we even gaining new ones, then we should able to fill 2 40 servers. I fail to understand that you Yosh, among with other devs (not to mention many players) prefer 20vs20, yet you were one of the first advocating the 64 player setting and finally made it official. For one or two maps it's nice to have 64 players but for the rest of the maps the RenX experience is just watered down. Player mitigation won't happen, dinamic map limit won't happen, yet we keep this flawed setting.

In order to stop derailing the Fair Inc thread I asked fffreak to take the discussion about toxic behaviour apart from it. I didn’t want to go offtopic there as there are some BS needs to be cleared up. Thanks Fffreak! Yes, it was just the tip of the iceberg, only one of many insults uncalled for. The sad part about this that the reason behind your outburst was that your Sidney died because I received repairs. So stop pretending that I took a part out from the chat and this was reasonable. Even if I were the bad guy, there's nothing that justifies this kind of toxic behaviour. All I said in response that you are a kiddo, calm down and behave. Judging by your views I was right that you think/act like a kid who discovered he can say anything on the internet as it doesn’t have RL consequences. This happened a month ago. So far it doesn’t have to do much with the server or anyone until you pick another fight with someone else. Considering the fuss you made -by losing an unit- without provocation it’s hard to tell when you are going to cross the line again. No buddy, that’s no how it works. You can’t randomly insult people just because you have your precious opinion. You have the right to have your opinion, but have no right to harm others with it. There’s nothing respectable in that. Once again that’s no how it works. Nobody has to endure bullying or shittalking just because someone is in a mood for that. We have social norms you apparently not familiar with. Online, the essential norms manifest in rules. If you don’t comply with these simple norms/rules you can practice giving voice to your “opinions” somewhere else. Thanks for sharing your opinion about the demographics but minors play this game as well. Which attributes would you associate yourself from the above list? The BS continues after point 1 and 2: I’ve never even had a word with you until you publicly attacked me a month ago. And what exactly was the crude remark yesterday? Our only exchange was: <FPI> Kaunas: k i got enough of this server lol <FPI> Radeon3: bye <FPI> Radeon3: wont miss you This is nothing compared to the hostility you still conducted towards me matches after you lost it. Same as the last point, but why do you lie about this? Wanna see the logs for facts that you started it? Or your opinion is more than enough. Blackmail works the opposite way of this, don't be ridiculous. That statement conflicting with your ideology and behaviour you explained up to this point. I wish you were to realize this before going toxic against others. Let me summarize the whole picture you just built around you with your post: You respect personal opinion above all, even if it means hurting others or going against facts. You think crude jokes, banter, toxicity and hate are all okay and people should let these happening by ignoring until it stops. Yet you are puzzled why your actions are called out. You set a prime example what’s wrong with a few players. And I’m not talking about the likes of IrishMedic who like to use foul language, but never cross the line of harming others in that. If Kaunas is an online entity, Madkill is right that he is de facto trash. If there’s someone behind Kaunas, he sure has issues with his twisted, faulty standards about online interaction. He might be a good kid at heart, but lost his face via Kaunas by his immature and toxic behaviour at times. Ask yourself, why would I care about you when I have to deal with your shitty side of personality?
-
Don't take his insult personal Schrott, some trash players are even so simple minded that they do the same with their main account and they are still not banned I agree that the game should have a HWID or an account system, unfortunately it's has a low priority for the devs. According to Agent's last post about this, nobody works on this. All you can do is to report these morons and deal with being a red giant:
