Totem Arts is building the game for lowpop TS coordinated matches, and yet its played as a large pop pub game without third party comm tools. Im wondering if they ever tried the 64 player mode before the beta launch.
  2. Dont touch UDKFrontEnd.udk_loading.bik and youll be fine. If you do it does make the game crash happy while loading maps.

Like we saw with Anakin, if you turn to the Dark Side by an unusually grumpy stare, theres no stopping until you commit mass murder. So whats the problem with not liking 50 minutes of perpetual snowballing and buttrape? Not everyones a wierdo you know.
  6. Yeah dem filthy casuals. I always said we should password lock all servers with changing passwords every new game (game crashes after map change anyway). The Glorious Renegade Elite shouldnt mingle with dem dirty CoD peasants. I would like to see 24/7 Field servers. They should also spam WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW? in chat for extra lulz.
  7. Its not really obvious. You assume the game has conceptual problems, and you back it with dwindling player numbers. But i dint really hear complaints in game from newbs that they dont like the arcade shooting, or the pay to dominate class system, just minor things like sniper/sbh balance issues, and the biggest problem everyone mentions is still stability and the truckload of bugs that is somewhat acceptable if unfortunate in a beta build.

The situation as of 2014/06/14 is and has been for a few months now but with ever decreasing population: Only 2 servers are active, EliteKamikazeTeam.com a marathon server with a 80 minelimit and 14 vehicle limit, and TheMatrixRen.NET thats an AOW server with 60 minute time limit 40 minelimit and 11 vehicle limit. Both are european servers hosted in Germany and France, so anyone who is not european is shit out of luck. Early populated US servers like Jelly and Rencorner died in late march-early april, Jelly shut down its RenX server, Rencorner is just sitting empty. These two servers offer differing gameplay, but one thing is common, the experience is utter shit when there are less than 30 people playing on them. Which is most of the time. On european evenings either EKT is full and TmX is at 20-30 people or the other way around but 70 is the max number of people playing Renegade X at any given time, and it drops to 20-30 early morning till it fills up after noon. People try to stack the server with the most people on it, so if you dont like marathon, or you dont like time limit, you may or may not get lucky and get to see your favorite server fill, and if you dont like half empty servers(or totally empty at times), then tough luck, no RenX for you today.

  11. Thats fine, are better off playing on The Furry Pound(rip), Fubar(rip), and MoO anyway. Evonos grammar is fine on the server. on topic: And its not a Ghost Town. Well compared to launch day it is(Open Beta 2 should have been the release build), but until we have 2-3 full servers all times i think we are good. Speaking of ghosts, what happened to Jelly and the 'mericans?
  12. There will be fans of it for sure. Even on downtime hours of european mornings one server is almost full, and peak hours of european evenings see 3-4 servers full. Will it die? Nope. Will it have only a small following of hardcore fanbois until the truckload of bugs and glitches will be fixed? Certainly.
  13. An pubbies dont use it. EVER. Im glad you can use Teamspeak with great affectiveness in organised matches once a week, but that doesnt help the game in general which is mostly pub play. And Fable III coop also lacks VOIP capability. And what the heck that has in common with a team and teamwork based shooter? The thing you must understand is currently theres barely any cooperation in pub matches. The side that has at least 2 people communicating through voice comms outside of the game generally mops the floor with the other one. I had a game with 4 clan members in one game on the other side using Teamspeak, and we got beat so hard it wasnt even funny. The communication tools at our disposal just isnt enough to get people organised. I can spot a horde of hotwires storming the powerplant, nobody will give a shit, since people generally ignore the randomly spammed 1 Enemy Spotted at xx messages. Its just not effective enough. I can spam Defend the powerplant! Defend the powerplant! Defend the powerplant! and vets will know something is wrong, but i cant tell others i saw 2 beacons planted around it before i got horribly murdered by an incoming Orca thats defending the beacons. I can write what i saw and maybe repeat it for good measure, but when i type im stationary and defenseless, not doing anything to stop them myself, and typing takes valuable time away from the team to understand and act according to my findings. And even then there will be people who will miss my message because its not indistingvishable from random banter, and/or they are focusing on other things. Or i could just shout Omagawd! Omagawd! 3 hotties are planting beacons on da plant! Ya niggaz get ya ass down here and shoot dat sonuvabiatch Orca while ya at it! under 5 seconds. Everyone will get the right message. ^^
  14. These youngins and their shenanigans, back in our days we were happy if we could turn on 16 bit texture rendering in 800x600 resolution. Renegade wasnt the best looking game in 2002, and just feels old now. RenX on the other hand looks and plays better i feel. Also if you turn everything off in the graphics options menu, even an Athlon 64 processor with a Geforce 6 video card can handle it. Thats like 10 years old tech, good luck playing any AAA game released today on that.
