  1. As it stands now, there's plans for mutators / filters yes. Directional armour IS limited to damage only and probably max damage of 120-125% but testing is required. Classy.
  2. If I can plunk my 2 cents in here. Since there's quite a lot of standoffs in RX with 2 lines pushing against each other I think even though it might be a small bonus, players who flank should be rewarded for their efforts and this mechanic will allow you to do and get that. There'll be attention paid to the balance side of things but since this is a (dis)advantage for everyone if it's not too radical it shouldn't change the dynamics too much.
  3. Yes in fact there is! we're still experimenting with it and its implementation, though I think it's safe to say that it'll be in the final version.
  4. Look on the bright side; Steam has a large user base that could prolong the lifetime significantly of Renegade-X, get people into making their own maps and extending the community beyond the dedicated fanbase. It might revitalise C&C a bit or just Renegade. I hope the unique gameplay of Ren-X will at least be appreciated by newcomers in this day and age. It seems preferable over Origin which is a lot more malignant and buggy than steam at this point in time.
  5. What is different from before "now" ?
  6. Yes it is in fact a radome. It's part of the sensor net described in the story and features in the map as such. A nod to the old Red Alert games for sure. This is not the only interesting object you'll encounter in the map
  7. We are currently discussing the use of techbuildings in the map, it's likely there'll be one but there's still some discussion on which one it'll be.
  8. Did anyone get back to you guys or? Fobby's quite busy at the moment. So that's why I'm asking.
  9. Renegade-X is based off of UDK (Unreal Engine 3) and not Unreal Tournament 3 so that means you will not have to own UT3. Once it's done you can download the full installer package without any prerequisites.
  10. Yeah I don't really get the first question either, and I am Dutch. What made you find out about the Totem Arts team You mean how the team came about, meaning its formation? Or? Can't really comment on that, in either case. I had nothing to do with its formation and joined sometime during the development of Black Dawn. and what inspired you to actually remake this game? Can only speak for myself here of course, but I followed the development of Renegade-X from quite early on, wanting to join but feeling that I lacked the skillset. During my university period (though not technically uni) I met fellow teammember Zixxer who was working on Ren-X at the time(this was roughly 2 years later). I proclaimed myself long time fan and got in touch with the team through him. We organised a project enabling us to dedicate some schooltime to Ren-X and the ball rolled from there. Since then I've worked on quite a few art assets, cutscenes and maps. Main reason being I'm a C&C fan, more specifically of the Tiberian universe so I hoped I could contribute in a way to keep it alive.
  11. Came across this today: I think we can all rest easy now.
  12. Ideally we should release both on Steam and Origin to be honest. There are of course certain code additions necessary for both which is something that needs to be looked into. Not to mention Steam requiring achievements built into the games released ... which has become mandatory afaik. Though I would not be opposed to such things, they're obviously secondary to what we really need to build, which is a solid multiplayer game. Don't be surprised if you hear more on this in the future.
  13. I dare say that we did managed to come close to the original Campaign AI for Renegade ha! All criticism is warranted guys, but that particular poster, saying that everything downright sucks is plain trolling. I can say with all honesty that we've learned much from this project and we had a blast making it and hope that shows through in the final product. Multiplayer will be even more badass (+ It's multiplayer!)
  14. lol that's terrible haha
  15. Guess what, I lied I hope helping you get to play Black Dawn somewhat compensates for that though haha! Yeah the pinkness was referring to his skin which is quite pink.. even beyond his cheeks. He's stuffed to the brim with booze!
  16. hehe that is too much lol

  18. I saw what you did on moddb fobby. -PS is anyone else having trouble editing posts? I can't seem to do it

  21. Maybe this time we'll have the features that were meant to be in C&C Gens from the start... building whose windows exploded and collapsed a lot more realistically etc. I'm afraid though that after this game (with longer development time) they'll go straight back to shorter development times. It happened with previous C&C's, it happens with CoD, it happens with nearly everything: build one game of decent quality, build hype and name for it and then churn out shitty sequels that will sell based on your brandname. I bet I have just uncovered rule 59 of 'making money 101'. As far as I know they hired a bunch of new people, plopped them into Bioware and now say that "Bioware" is developing the game. It means nothing really, what I see all over the net is "Oh it's a Bioware game meaning more choices / RPG etc." What? no. That's not how CEOs think lol, that's how we (like to) think, they want our money and they know you like Bioware.
  22. lol @ the pasted in sparks and smoke at 0:10 fake as fuck, other than that I guess I'm looking forward to it. I want Generals 2 to be moddable! Give us that damn engine already.
  23. Voted! To glory!
