  1. Fair enough. Thanks for the answers Fobby.
  2. I was referring to what looks like building health indicators. Are those for debug purposes, or are they actually going to be in-game? They changed it so much I didn't even recognize it... which is good as I considered it bland in the original.
  3. Couple of these things strike me as being more then just a ruse: The Blue Tiberium The map screenshots The grenade render The updated HUD. Am I right or am I just trying to make sense out of nonsense?
  4. Hmm, there looks to be one thing nice about this update. I think that render of a grenade might actually be real. I wonder who it would go to... And also, are those building bars? Oh yes, I will beta test! I already made a map with a single player powerplant in one!
  5. You may still have a chance. In my experience of testing, there are always: 1. Jerks who slip through applications just to have a showcase video on YouTube, and never play it ever again. 2. A few people who have real life incidents that need to leave for a time (or forever) 3. A need to change the line-up of testers.
  6. The best option would be to have multiple versions out, for multiple clients. It would be nice if we could put it on all of the major ones. Origin and Steam would be prime candidates: But we should also look at smaller ones like Desura.
  7. Oops. Yes, I meant the MP version. Although, will Black Dawn be a cooperative mission in the MP version?
  8. Looks great guys! One question: How far is Black Dawn in its development in terms of non-environmental art? What is left to do?
  9. I was browsing around Reddit today, and noticed a recent AmA from Frank Klepacki, the well known musician. And I noticed this quality comment: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/11n1xk/i_am_frank_klepacki_audio_director_composer_and/c6o5sru As a little Fun Fact: From the same area: His favorite track to work on from Renegade was "I Got a Present for Ya!"
  10. I have seen many renegade maps. Some of those maps are "ehh, hourglass/mesa/canyon 2.0". However, some of those maps contain new units, gameplay features, and in one instance, factions. I am wondering about the individual moddability of Renegade X UDK? Could I just open up the editor, create a new map, edit some presets, and boom, new mod map? Or would I need to physically compile a brand new game?
  11. I understand that this is a large bump, but these forums are pretty dead, with only a spike of revival during the update, so I think it might be alright to post this here. I would love to see the dev team's response to all of this, but I have some more gamemodes. Co-Op: Play through Black Dawn with a friend. Classic C&C Mode: Forget Renegade. Go back to the age of Tiberian Dawn! Graphics resembling their Tiberian Dawn counterparts, all classic units, few modifications to the original gritty game. Time to Rock n' Roll! Classic Assault Mode: Same as above, but you need to build your base. Classic C&C Mode is pretty much a must-have. Any diehard C&C fan would go crazy over it.
  12. Changes like those to the game I would like, but only in certain game modes.
  13. Expand the trees a bit. They do look like pipecleaners. They might be better once the wind catches them though.
  14. Its Jam! What happened a while ago! I noticed your videos were all deleted!
  15. Or wait for applications to come out. My guess is that there will probably be vigorous beta tests in the Release Candidates, and 10 testers in multiplayer isn't enough.
  16. Permagrin says: Not as in today, but soon™.
  17. Perhaps a mod that remakes what Renegade was meant to be, a true Tiberian Dawn remake, is also in order.
  18. I notice that there are a lack of updates. Now, I am not complaining. You guys make this for free, and deal with our criticism. But I want to know, what is left? I know of all the code work. But what about graphics? How far along are they? I am not asking on a release date, but it has been a while since the last update, and it appears the WIP forum is gone. So, what is going on?
  19. Remember, it took two years for Renegade X (Originally Renegade 2007) to release on UT3. And they had most of the code already built on it. This project is far higher, and IIRC, they intend to remove all the placeholders.
  20. The developers work for free through long hours, lost nights, and countless problems. The only things keeping them going is the fun to be had, and the thank yous that they get.
  21. Is the weapon limit customizable? Server side?
  22. Let's hope none of them are turned away by the bugs.
  23. Two small questions related to fan mapping. Please answer both if you can. First: What will/will not be possible in renegade X that was not possible/was possible in Renegade in terms of Fan Mapping Second: How hard would it be to import the custom C++ scripts into Renegade X?
  24. However, it turns out later on that the girl had a deadly unknown STD, and you had three months to live.
  25. Mutation: One player is a mutant, rest are regulars. The regulars have a limited amount of lives. Once they lost their last life, they join the mutants. Two variations are in this mode: Survive until reinforcements come in Be the sole survivor
