  1. As far as I know, TCW on the UDK will have a game mechanic that works close to command and conquer mode, that we know from renegade.

Keep in mind that if EA (which has won an award as the worst company of the US) cancels a game because it is to worse, it really has to be worse. Tiberium was almost about one weapon, and as far as I know it already was canceled long before they figured out how to build it for multiplayer. So probably it would be ended as an game without gameplay or storyline, just shooting and shooting. When you imagen that the story has taken place during the C&C3 period, where there wasn't a walker or what ever you call it, used. But in Tibirium they where. So it would conflict between these 2 stories. So when you all the failures filter out of the game, you would only would have a multi-usable gun left.

  3. U would die when u not drink ;) . Congratulations with your birthday anyway. And yea smoking is bad, but alcohol generates the most brilliant ideas, probably even renegade-x is made thanks to alcohol :P. But probably you would not start drinking because you are already started drinking years ago :P

  4. I think you mean datacap not bandwidth and no, the multiplayer will be a separate file because it uses a different version of the engine. I have a limited datacap of 2GB (which sucks) but what you can do is download it from somewhere that you can get free internet like a freinds place then copy it via USB, which is what i did. Or you can just pay extra that mouth for the additional data.

2GB is damm less. Mc Donnalds WIFI FTW ;)

  5. Hey guys, just a head's up in case you were wondering where yesterday's episode was/is. I've recently transferred from Windows to Ubuntu, and the sound quality there seems to be really really low, so I'm going to arrange another laptop in a few days from now to start recording.

    Stay tuned!

Could you not better chose for keeping windows and install Ubuntu as additional boot? It works fine for mine mini-laptop.

  6. Question1: Some bugs and game play stuff from renegade does not make a lot of sense, but they made the game the way it was, will these game play improvement bugs and other gameplay improving gameplay still keep in renegade-x? For example snipers that can kill low armor pretty fast (which balanced the game pretty nice if you ask it me), harvy walking, nuking on places that are hard to access, tunnel nuking (we could life without this one), flaming, sneaking in the base by hiding just before an ob start shooting, using broken tanks to get pass the tank limit, stealing tanks so the enemy reach there tank limit some faster.

Question2: Will stealth be usable for a time period to prevent NOD from massive camping and weapon collecting on the field... in the multiplayer? Or will the stealth functions on the same way as in renegade?

  7. I just finished the campaign.

    Pro:

-I actually had great fun completing the game. Good action, good difficulty balancing and good map design.

    -Awesome 3d models.

-Good story, dialogues and even humor

-Awesome bullet trail effect, that's what make screenshots look so great and made me download the game. Too bad it just feel visual only, they don't seems to hurt really :) .

Cons (and tips for developers for the next version):

-Add a shortcut to the desktop/game menu/start menu to start the game, and renaming UDK.exe to something else can be good too.

-List the available resolutions on the video adapter, don't offer a preset list.

    -Sutbitles?? SUTBITLES??? Hahaha really?

-DON'T tell the player how to run while you are locking his movements!! I had to quit and check key mappings to realize I just couldn't move in this scene.

-Allow a way to go to the menu/settings screen in-game. Unreal allow it I'm sure.

-Check for alt-tab vertex reloading corruption. Unreal does this amazingly, how did you mess this up?

-What the hell is that intro video aspect ratio? Look like 3:1. On a normal 16:9 monitor it don't even take half the screen!

-Voice acting of that intro look like it's been done by drunk kids in one shot. The rest is a lot better.

-The ION cannon model look like a Flashlight*.

In short, less artist, more (or better) coders.

When you mean with flashlight, a cool awesome oldschool part of art ;)

  8. I totally agree with you. If there is going to be huge changes, then what is the meaning of playing renegade x? Go play another game then! I like the way things are going on in Renegade and I think it is best to keep thing as they are now. Perhaps, in the future, the developer team might be able to develop something new. But until then, there is no point in thinking of the innovations for Renegade MP. :)

Agreed, however I would really like to see these gamemode mods, to become reality... for example there where maps that has build an capture the flag mod, this was pretty cool, it was basically cnc mode but than with an additional option to win with capturing the flag ... times. Simple gameplay addition as additional gameplay should still be cool, as long the main gamemode still keeps cnc mode in atleast 50-75% of all the servers.

  9. Imo keeping RX closest to the original is best, i loved renegade, i would hate the multiplayer gameplay to change to a point where it didnt feel like renegade anymore, ren should stay like ren, i like the simplicity of it, 2 bases, 2 teams, 1 goal

2 goals, or destroying the base, but when that is gonna fail, winning with score will be the goal.

  10. What C&C : RX should have is lots of skirmish missions, including spec-ops! with co-op mode in both of them!!!

Who doen't like to do missions with friends??!!??

why not also adding roleplay mode? you start with 2 teams, 1 team plays an stupid AI team, the other team has to kill there base and have to believe that they are fighting an co-op. the AI team gets a score decrease when they stop playing the stupid AI, and start playing with skills...

No really... we have bots from BD, and yes they are stupid and without skills, but I think it is better to have there main focus on PvP fights, so we at least have a playable game. I dont want a release slowdown because they add some smart bots. Better they finish renegade-x and add it somewhere far away in the future, once every important thing is fixed in the game.

still hating any XP idea ;) .

  11. lol, did you take it easy on the beer?

fun fact: 50% of all drinkers in holland in 2010 drank more then 10 glasses of beer per day at carnaval.

50% of those drank more then 20 glasses of beer per day at carnaval.

Talking about Holland, the northern part of Holland is a less alcohol user as the soutern part... makes that percentage for the southern of Holland even higher... But this year was a good carnaval year ;) , a lot of alcohol, a lot of money gone, and I still have all my tooth this year, so I am happy :) .

  12. You've known me how long? Since at least 2004? You're just now figuring out that I'm highly opinionated? ;-) I make what I say highly visible, because I prefer that my words not fall on blind eyes. Or in the case of people getting butthurt, I'd prefer to have my statements in several places in case they get deleted by someone who doesn't like their work being discussed. Granted, it's a bit silly to assume that you would edit my posts or delete them for disagreeing with you. It can tend to lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy in a way; I expect you to do it so you do it because I made my posts in several different places. However, I did say I would make a more "in-depth" review on IndieDB when you called me out on giving it a rating of one.

I have no mods or games by which to judge my work to your own and I have no intention of doing so. I'm not interested in that discussion. The only reason we're even having it at the moment is because someone in the thread decided that embellishing the past was a legitimate discussion subject when they didn't like what I had to say. I'm glad you agree that I'm being respectful - I'm not sure how anyone really could disagree. You can call me blunt, to the point, etc, but disrespectful would require a lot more effort on my part to simply bash your work. I have no interest in doing that, either, since your work is obviously polished in certain areas and rough in others. Nothing is perfect. As artists we only improve greatly by the critique we receive from others.

    I...I....I...I...I...

    what a selfish dude ;) .

    Its easy:

you like it -> you follow it.

you dont like it -> you play another game ;) .

    Reasons to not complain:

-nobody said you had to download it.

    -It is free.

    Reasons to complain:

    -

If it is not running well on your computer, than it is probably a problem of your computer. It runs nice on my computer at least. It was never said that it would be that low graphic as c&c renegade... computers get better in years dude ;)

  13. -Game needs more optimization in general. In some of the larger battle scenes it felt like my fps was struggling to stay above 30. I get around 50 fps in Battlefield3.

Says more something about your PC, I had no problem with it...

The only 2 things I did not like was:

-C4 not as weapon, but only as some kind of "Press E" object. C4 has to a weapon, because it is an awesome weapon.

-The rolling with a minigun. The minigun has to charge before you can fire with it, which is pretty nice done, but when you on accident press roll (what happens a lot), you had to charge again, this is a bit annoying, its better to make it impossible to roll with the minigun.

  14. heh

Pr0eX, i think you didn't play any other singleplayer shooter

because if you did, you probably wouldn't think that this game is amazing =)

i believe that MULTIPLAYER of this game can be good but now i just see that AI is amazing stupid

and btw, why enemy vehicles can't kill me? they're shooting but it has no impact on me...

so the AI is realistic, like every shot hits on multiplayer, they have just noob AI, like you have noob players in multiplayer. But have you tried all difficult modes?
