  3. I'll agree.. I think any type of uncloak/recloaking sound should only be heard by the SBH/guy in the stank. It doesn't really matter realism-wise whether or not anyone else hears it.
  4. I believe you can do that via LAN. Just set up a LAN local match, select the map you want, and start.

If anyone here's been on Black Mesa Source's forums, there are community projects that get the community involved more in the mod (having forum members design and post misc. props, textures, etc.). This is only a suggestion, but you guys on the team could hold such projects/contests. For example, I was thinking that we (forum members) could each design propaganda posters for GDI/Nod, and the best one could be incorporated into the game. And so forth. The projects don't have to be groundbreaking; they could be very minor in detail, so they don't interfere with the regular flow of work.
  8. Awesome footage there. I think this will be one of the few mods that I actually get to see finished...and spectacularly. Great job, again. I gotta say, the third person character movement is a bit jerky..a bit like TF2, imo.
  9. Apparently steam only has a "special" version of UT3 (UT3 Black), bringing the price up to $20 US. Is the original UT3 still available in retail? Haven't taken the time to check yet. But, which one would you recommend? Would the "enhanced AI", quoted on the UT3 Black website, affect RenX gameplay?

"and the secondary fire will launch a grenade that will bounce as many times as it comes into contact with any object" Are you saying that the alt-fire grenade will bounce indefinitely (for 8 seconds) and not come to a rest after a few bounces like most objects when dropped? That's going to be a bit comical. And even if the grenade does use realistic physics (grenade comes to a rest after a few bounces), I have a feeling the alt-fire is going to be overused as an ad-hoc mine layer.
  11. It's always best to wait and let the developers focus on their work. Just check in now and then, don't expect anything (not an insult to the devs), and be extra happy when an update arrives.

  13. I've heard of the host families system. Really great and cost-effective idea. Hmm, I live across the bay from San Francisco... If you haven't visited SF already, visit Pier 39 and the sea lions, visit the California Academy of Sciences and De Young Museum at Golden gate park, and ride the cable cars. All of those are probably already in your guidebook... sorry, I'm useless at recommending local destinations and events. Have fun! Wish I could travel to Europe and stay with host families.
  14. The grayscale view isn't such a good idea imo. Remember Nod is red and GDI is yellow; in terms of infantry nothing else distinguishes each faction besides color. Obviously the HUD will identify units of both sides, but it'll be harder to quickly see who's on your team without pointing crosshairs at everyone. Dunno about the rest of it.

  17. I personally think that a feature similar to the !lock function won't work well, like the med tank analogy provided by R315r4z0r. I suggest that no immediate !lock feature be implemented. Instead, when a teammate gets in your vehicle, a small menu pops up on the HUD, stating that "someone is inside your vehicle" and gives you the option to press a certain key to boot him, or all teammates, out permanently. That way a person, if there is enough of a threat, can temporarily drive your vehicle (if you yourself are too busy) until the threat is gone.
  18. It was the snow one with all the confusing tunnels and crannies. I think it came out later than the rest, so you might have missed it. By the way, I liked glacier! the way those passages work give the losing team a chance at infantry rushing at the last moment (although i've never seen such a thing )

  20. This is just the ravings of a picky guy, so feel free to ignore. I just feel that there should be an "About" page on your main site (if for some reason I missed it, I apologize) that specifies the overview of your project, that the game is a mod of UT3, a sampling of frequently asked questions, etc. I was a bit confused myself when I first visited it. If you purposely omitted an "About" page to get more attention on the forum (which I suspect and completely understand) or for some other reason I apologize again...

  25. simply because I loved Ren and wanted to see it in even more awesomeness. The most appealing thing...probably is the amount of detail you guys put into everything.
