This is a nice post, I wanted to post something similar myself. Maybe the "q" command can also be improved. It can happen as a engineer that you run triple marathons during a match. A lot of times I ask for a ride but no one notice it. Other way around also, I get a request ride message and stop but no one gets in.

As an experiment, all the servers need to be set to a max of around 40. Just to see if two servers will fill up and if people will have more fun. So not only one, don't know who all the admins are. And if it is not a succes players should mention it here on the forum.

This will result in unbeatable infantry, a lcg with two technicians 😃

I did not wanted to give to much answer possibilities so it is a bit of a global preference.

I was just wandering, maybe it can help grow the number of players. I could not play a few times because of a full server. And I found 30vs30 to chaotic, I personally have more fun when there is teamplay.

I have had it a few times now that I could not join because the server was full. So two servers with max 40 players can help... Although I must also say that this full server situation does not happen much longer then 30 minutes. I enjoy 20vs20 more then 30vs30 We could make a poll for optimal max player count 😃 EDIT:

I understand that people want to help improve. But for the rest I don' t get the complains. Renegade x is amazing and more people should know about it. And I like it more than the original.

What would be? Google Adwords YouTube Video ads Facebook ads Because personally, I think those ads are the worse. I always get a fake/scam/pay-to-win feeling with those game adds. You need to think carefully about how to present an ad like that because other games already ruined it (Mostly those pay-to-win mobile shit). But I am no expert. Even if they only have just a few watchers, it will grow exponentially right? 😃

I checked the demo, it was Player837. From the very beginning the behavior was suspicious so definitely planned.

All the same ip addresses assigned to the same team option for the admin 😃 Don't know if there is a log that connects the player name to the ip adress. If some one from yesterday remembers the name of the player and time he/she can still be banned.

That is also a reason why I posted it. I thought a hardcore mode is easy to implement but it does change the whole renegade arcade style. So you dont want it for every match. The health regeneration is something like after not being hit for 10 seconds every second adds 20 health. The voting is indeed (I think) a more difficult thing, but for the future. You never know.

This all sounds amazing, it is like creating the perfect game. But it also sounds that it would be much more difficult for new players. I expect that one day the developers want to be more focused on expanding the player base. So I think you must keep the difficulty level in mind. Another thing, what about that you can only buy a mammoth or mobius when you are above level 5. Not to high, just for the fun otherwise some people will never get the change to use all the characters.

The developers are probably busy enough and have lots of ideas themselves but I still wanted to share this. I saw @yosh56 also starting a topic and this could maybe be added. So the ideas: Hardcore mutator: Infantry much (much) more damage but never one shot one kill the the body Infantry health regeneration Vehicles limited ammo, this also solves the arty party on island and mrls on walls (the team that can do this first wins a lot of times) Vehicle ammo regeneration (maybe boost when beeing repaired) etc.. The base for a hardcore mutator Mutator/mode voting: Some people love the extra vehicles and the base defenses from AGN and some not. So why not vote for it. The voting will happen when a round ends, and the choices would look something like: Islands (classic) Islands (agn mutator) Islands (hardcore) Islands (Control points) I am just sharing

@roweboat Good to know. But all the points sounds more like personal taste I think, still good to know. It is also that not every match is as fun as another wich makes it difficult to love this game. I love it because I know it and also played the original. But a new player you can only get hooked if the first matches are one of the fun ones.

Well... If for example you attack trough the tunnels the whole team needs to get to the tunnels to defend. It is still teamwork but the field will be open. Not sure if better experienced players would notice it. I can be wrong and the only one with this opinion of course. And no not with 30vs30 but with 20vs20 yes, depending on the team. It is still something that it is how it is and nothing will change that. But that experience influence new players and/or gameplay.

To come back at my previous post, if I read about renegade-x on reddit I see a lot of people that thinks this game is dead because of empty servers. Those people also look like renegade fans and really want this remake. Now I think that is the biggest problem. What about a server history option in the launcher? Where people can see how many players have been active every hour or so as a proof it ain't dead

I think good snipers are not the problem. "One shot one kill feelings" from an officer happens more often. In modern games there is a lobby system that separates the new people from the experienced, and of course here that is not possible. In games without lobby system they trust the anti cheat, still they don't see such a big differences in player skills (Opinion of a person that does not play anymore). I also don't have an idea for this, but I see it so often lately it starting to stand out. And I also see that just one player can change a whole game. What about more damage to the body? But oke, the game is only difficult when good aiming people are playing. The community should not be so focused on the game itself because it is the best game ever 😃 but more about promoting it. There are also other game forums with topics like "any game recommendations", "good free games", "non ptw". I will check reddit and the forum of hyperspin if I have the time.

Just listening to people that stop to play would be the best of course. At first I did not wanted to bring it up because of all the discussions before on this forum and even the in-game fight's and name calling on the chat. But till now 3 friends of my did not liked the game because of some k/d ratios. They call it cheating, as mentioned it comes up almost every game so I can not believe my friends are the only ones. Maybe someone can think of a solution for this, convincing that it is not cheating but just good players that already play for many years does not work. Another thing that maybe sounds cheap is not to promote this game as a remake but as a free game. Talk about the action, guns, vehicles, repairing, credits and teamwork. Leave the nostalgia for what it is, the original renegade was not that popular and known. Are there not a lot of these free games websites?

Oh I see now, did not know it was up-to-date to the latest version Because it was before, that for sure. yes indeed, I also see that no "<h1>" are used but "<h3>" instead. Ofcourse "<h3>" is better for those positions but there is no "<h1>" title anyways. The renegade-x title on the right is <h2> so that could also be put between <h1> tags. Maybe it can also help to put the website link on moddb, now it is only one link to the forum.

I am surprised that no one mentioned this before but the website is not findable. If I google "renegade x" it does not come up. If people read about renegade x I assume the first thing they do if they are interested is google it to find the website for the game.
