  1. QUOTE (Qbert @ Mar 3 2009, 08:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. I see the trailer and it seems to be very very dark, hard to see (especially on field), and a forbidding atmosphere.
  2. QUOTE (Ban4life @ Mar 1 2009, 12:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not too mention the other team gets phat points when they disarm crappy plants, which 95% of them are. Yes, I'm talking about the typical plant right on the side of the Hand of Nod, where everyone can see it lol. My personal favourite spot was in Walls Flying with an apache, flying over to the Weapons Factory, landing the aircraft in an unreachable spot on the ceiling, and planting. Of course, it was incredibly rare and hard to do because the Apache would draw alot of attention but also because you never survived the 3-5 seconds it took to plant (even though it was unreachable, you were in plain view of everyone on the ground). If you actually pulled it off though, the only way to disarm it was for a GDI player to get an aircraft and land it in the same spot as you
  3. Glacier was.... interesting. It was the most out of place map in Renegade as it really had nothing too much in common with the other usual rotation maps (Hourglass, Islands, Walls Flying, City Flying, Field, etc). Maybe it's because it was just huge, but something about that map just didn't add anything to the Renegade experience. I agree with: Make it, but do it last!
  4. I saw nothing wrong with the Ramjet rifle, loading time included. Reason being is that: 1. When you actually get enough skill to get consistent headshots, a 500 sniper is more efficient at tunnel fighting/infantry killing anyway because of the faster reload, faster rate of fire, and instant hit. 2. A Raveshaw/PIC is better against vehicles 3. It does rape aircraft, but in all fairness... what else does? A Rave/PIC does but only at a limited range, which by then an Orca would have already owned it with it's machine gun. An APC/Chain Gun does a decent job but again it is at limited range and is even less efficient than trying to use a Rave/PIC. In essence, the Ramjet really only excels at one thing: Picking off aircraft. If you use it to Snipe than you probably aren't competent enough yet to use a 500 (which means you shouldn't be sniping, go heal a building or run around with an APC ) and if you use it against vehicles than that's just failure because a Rave/PIC does a much better job. If there's any one class I have a problem with in Renegade, it's the Mobius lighting-gun extraordinare thing. It absolutely shreds apart anything that comes within range. But I really don't care because there's always a counter to anything, and there's a counter to that counter, and a... etc etc.
  5. CONGRATS!! The other mods look amazing as well. Did anyone else see NeoTokyo? That game looks like it would be amazing as well.
  6. QUOTE (Jointn00b @ Feb 26 2009, 05:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes it is.
  7. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I just want my old Renegade back. Nothing more, nothing less.
  8. There was nothing wrong with the Transport Helicoper Only if it had maybe a little more defense but I think that it was a fair vehicle.
  9. I see what Demigan means.. I think that it should stay as close to the original Ren as possible, back when you could drive through the destroyed vehicle shells.
  10. QUOTE (NEFobbyGEN @ Feb 15 2009, 11:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Got a ballpark estimate? D: Even an average of 200 online could be pleasing. I realize online PC gaming has suffered since the advent of online console gaming, but would 200-300 average be realistic? That'd be enough to fill a couple 24 person AOW servers, 32 person marathon servers (ala Black-Cell server style), a few sniper servers, and maybe a co-op server like St0rm servers used to have.
  11. http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php?gam...amp;location=US UT3 currently has a rather low player amount for US servers. Seeing as how mods of a game generally have even less players online that the original game itself, does this mean that Renegade X will see a very low average player count? If I remember correctly... when Westwood Online still hosted the original Renegade the average player count was around 600-800 online (quite a large amount, by today's standards).
  12. Ah damn... The good memories are starting to arise within me again. Renegade X is going to be truly amazing!
