  1. New Poll added to first post https://www.strawpoll.me/12001740 https://www.strawpoll.me/12001854 Not sure how to fix the broken embedding.
  2. @DarkSn4ke Well I know now. @[AoG]iTweek I'd say we should either move that question to here, or maybe make a new topic in Feedback & Bug Reports. I'll add a public (no account required) poll in the other thread.
  3. @Fffreak9999 The problem I had with it, was the fact that I had to download ~6.22GiB of data ("updating" from version 5.23, grabbed from here), and that download speed was highly varied (dipped below 300 bytes/s to as high as 200KiB/s) on my already slow internet speeds (<=220KiB/s). It would have taken me 9 hours & 42 minutes if the speed stayed at a constant <180KiB (needless to say, it didn't). Not only am I not sure how much of the files were even part of the actual update, but it was also a non-resumable download. So once I started up my computer after it unknowingly crashed, I opened the launcher and unfortunately found that it didn't keep any kind of temporary downloaded data. Just saw the abysmally empty bar with the same 6.22GiB that needed downloading; which led me to here. And since I couldn't find where to get the most recent update, I just ended up assuming that the most recent version was up on moddb/indiedb, since [I thought] I couldn't get the large download on-site. I had checked the downloads section several times, thinking I had missed something. So that's when I gave up and grabbed it off indiedb, thinking any updates wouldn't be too large to download.
  4. @DarkSn4ke Oh, I see what happened. First, I missed this bit. Then second thing that happened was that I didn't really figure that the download for that wouldn't be on an "update" post, but rather under the downloads page. And the third was that it wasn't displayed in a format like the previous one was, on the most recent update post. I feel dumb for missing it, but at least I know why I missed it. (I realize it could sound like I'm being sarcastic, but I assure you that it was not intentional, nor do I mean it that way.)
  5. Wait. Really? Where was that at? Maybe I should re-phrase my statement to "have it available [on the downloads page]"
  6. ###### NEW POLL ###### <iframe src="http://www.strawpoll.me/embed_1/12001740" style="width:680px;height:407px;border:0;">Loading poll...</iframe> <iframe src="http://www.strawpoll.me/embed_1/12001854" style="width:680px;height:449px;border:0;">Loading poll...</iframe> (In case I messed up) https://www.strawpoll.me/12001740 https://www.strawpoll.me/12001854 Get 7zip here (compatible with .RAR, .7z, and many other formats!) Info about it here Something I stated in another thread, but didn't realize until after that this is the proper location for that discussion. I'm not sure if I'm correct, but it may be possible for you to be able to create a new updated torrent files with your updated files (when you update the game) with any with already existing/old files that don't need replacing, which would help with saving bandwidth. Something else I hadn't mentioned that I just remembered, was another method that could potentially be useful. A file syncing program called "Resilio Sync" https://www.resilio.com/ , which does have that option, as it only relies on the independent files, as opposed to a "torrent hash" (which is created on each torrent creation). EDIT: Oh, by the way, please do not use utorrent. It's riddled with ads, and was bought out several months ago. Here's a list of torrent clients https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_BitTorrent_clients and the 2 I personally have used after utorrent hit the fan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deluge_(software) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tixati EDIT2: Another useful thing is having a direct (or indirect, like on MEGA or mediafire) link to the zipped [preferably using maximum compression] update(s), as those are easier to download than through the launcher. At least in my experience.
  7. The free program 7zip is also a thing, y'know. Very versatile too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7-Zip http://7-zip.org/
  8. You guys could really stand to distribute the updates via torrent. It'd make it easier on you guys, while also making it easier for those of us who would prefer to use them, and those with slower connections who cannot stay online until the download finishes/have intermittent connections. Especially when you consider the size of the download.
