Superweapons are working as intended. Attacks that include multiple ions/nukes are meant to be difficult to counter and is one of the already few ways to end a long match.

Moreover, if your base is breached that bad, something is wrong with your base defense

And if it ever got limited it definitely wouldn't be one.

What would be great is if the beacons go back to the way they work in old Renegade. Diffusable till the last second. Why?

People take more risk to disarm

If you succeed you are lucky, if you don't you die. Would also kill of remaining techs / hotwires in certain games.

It's been years now, and we're still probably never going back to that behavior for beacons. Granted you do get a point about the added risk factor.

I agree with the fact, like discussed ingame, that it was kinda stupid to see the nuke failing only to have it dissapear in the last second. Could still have the nuke falling, but the payload not detonated.

Or maybe damage the building down to 1 pt shield (if it gets defused in the last 10 seconds)

Was also thinking about that, that it could 'scratch' the building but the payload doesn't go off and doesnt kill the building. But what with the Ion canon than?
