I have a shitty pc, not as shitty as fobbys, but im suprised to find that the game looks and runs great on the lowest settings. I get a solid frame rate, and the graphics arnt all that bad at low. Very pleased with how that turned out.

Also the gameplay is just awesome. Same old classic UT gameplay, now it seems faster because every weapon is amped up to be more powerful. Each vehicle is extremely unique, and handles just perfectly, especially the necris tripod, (which is the only necris vehicle in the demo). This game is going to be a freakishly huge hit for sure!

lol if I continue try playing this beta demo I wreck my Windows install faster than I can think of.

I can run the demo and I was able to play one DM-round with lowest details and a cr*** framerate (around 10-15) fps. Now the demo crashes randomly after starting a DM Round.

And thats all with P4 3.06 Ghz, GeForce GT 6600, 1 Gb RAM omg

Update drivers and talk to me on MSN, I have some tweaks in your .ini and you should have 25-35 FPS avg.

Im pulling in 60 avg. now with disabling there motion blur (which makes it hard to see anyways) and bloom, some dx10 setting, and a few other things.

I still have textures on 5 (highest), so it still looks awesome.

@titan: I updated my videocard drivers but UT is still crashing and sometimes I can't even run UT because the screen turns black and I get an information-field on my TFT that it doesn't getting any digital/analog data from my comp.

Hope it will change after you told me some of your tricks^^

open up UTengine.ini

under [systemSettings] you'll find all of these

DynamicLights=True (you might want to set to false)

MotionBlur=False

DepthOfField=False

Bloom=True (another one u might want to change, mine only gains 1 FPS at most)

Trilinear=True(another one i opnly gained a small amount, but could prove to be a bigger gain for you)

AllowD3D10=False

This is a big boost, but makes things alot less detailed, Try something between 75-100 % on the screen precentage....I could 100's FPS with 75%

it renders everything at a low quality^

either set it in the game menu or in the .ini

ScreenPercentage=100.000000

Didnt explain all of those but if you don't know ask.

one more in that same file to reduce stuttering, although it doesnt do anything on my 7900, but its suppose to be for 6 and 7 series nvidia cards is...

UseMinimalNVIDIADriverShaderOptimization=True, set to false to help loading of shaders during shooting a weapon for the 1st time you fire it upon load of a map.... once again I see no difference on my 7900 with this set to false.

I hope you can get it started again...these may help.

Post ur specs, that might help troubleshoot it.

If you use "loaded" on that shagraLa map you can press Q and use the translocator.

Nearly everything you posted Titan was already at lowest settings (I only changed two or three entrys there).

Maybe I have a higher fps now but I can't test it. After Deathmatch starts I see the first frame(s) and than the demo crashs. Before I installed the new video drivers I was able to play some minutes before the coming crash but now.... sad.gif

I can't play UT3 maybe because it's a BETA demo or Windows Installation is too old... I don't know. I burn the demo on a DVD or something and put it to the other stuff which I can play when I have a new comp in the next two years.

Death you have SP2 with all the updates?

also just read that these help crashes (one i allready posted)

The game won't run for me without this. If you get blank screens or a kernel32 error set this to true. I don't promise it will work though

Use this if the game seems choppy or hitches a lot. May also help if you can't get the game running. I have both this and the above set to true.
