  1. Soldiers in Tiberian Dawn indeed died pretty quick from tiberium contamination. C&C Renegade made people lose health pretty quickly aswell, but not as fast indeed. Balance could be a factor here, i don't know.

Renegade X had tiberium damage lowered compared to C&C Renegade, but had the tiberium damage inflicted straight to your health, and not your armour, compensating for the lower damage rate. Tiberium still had to eat through your armour first in C&C Renegade before it started affecting your health, so putting this in mind, i believe tiberium damage in Renegade X is quite balanced. There is no real need to change this, really.

    Fair point.

Although a slight increase in damage would still be worthwhile.

  2. CnC3_Disintegrator.PNG

Just have a few of these in a certain part of the map that will attack either sides units and respawn every so often after they are killed.

Maybe from the wreckage of a ship that's crashed into the ground.

Would require a model and texture artist and an animator and someone to code the AI.

  3. It would be interesting to have a Silo in the middle of the cavern on Walls because of there being four vantage points either faction could take advantage of. (Ground, walkway, top of the cavern and ariel)

An underground silo in the sub-tunnels on Islands would be tricky but also interesting.

I suppose on the cliff edge just below the bunker on Volcano would be an interesting place to put a silo, access via a steep stairway from above and below for the infantry making for some interesting tactics.

These would just be interesting. (to me)

On a whole, I quite enjoy the extra dynamic the silos add to the game so much that it's refreshing, something to fight over is always nice.

Like C&C_Walls_Flying and C&C_Walls from Old Renegade, perhaps (for example) Renegade-X may require to have CNC Under and CNC Under-NS (No Silo). :P

  4. And hourglass was one of the worst maps to ever come to Renegade. Plus, somebody is already doing a remake of it.

    Couldn't disagree more.

I played Hourglass more than any other Renegade map.

It's a very well known fact that Hourglass was one of the most universally hated maps in Renegade. !voteskipmap (Or whatever it was) generally went up within the first few seconds/minutes if the server allowed it. If not, you just watched the server population decline for awhile. Your PERSONAL experience doesn't mean a thing.

Wasn't the main reason for Hourglass's hate because we eventually realised that if you were on GDI you could just hide out of sight with an MRLS facing rear to the hill and launch rockets at the obelisk in complete out-of-sight safety? (The battery on the back of the MRLS couldn't rotate in original Ren)

And any nod attempting to attack the MRLS on the GDI side of the hill were met with AGT hostility.

Considering the MRLS battery isn't in a fixed or otherwise stuck position in Renegade-X this is actually impossible to do.

I still found Hourglass to be a fun map because if rockets were launching, it only meant that Flame Tanks were to come rushing. (From both sides)

  5. I've seen players walk across Tiberium fields with little worry for taking damage from the tiberium simply because the tiberium fields don't cause enough damage to a player, a Tib-Field should not be in any way a reasonable shortcut. It's a NOPE-zone.

Couldn't the tiberium kill players faster than it does already? Say, 15-25hp per 1.5 seconds depending how deep you are into a tib-field?

Tiberium Fields are not to be taken lightly by infantry, stepping into one should be a players first indication of "BAD IDEA" as opposed to "I could probably make that sprint".

Tiberium ain't hot coal and it's deadlier than a insane hooker with 5 STI's.

If a player's character could set on fire upon death after a tiberium field infection that would be a great too. (This last part is just for kicks. Technically an easter egg for anyone who remembers C&CTD)
