Don't completely agree with it, why?
    - There used to be a specific sniper server in the past
    - There are special sniper maps just for these kind of servers
    - Snipers are completely different than every other weapon

I'd love a mutator that switches the weapons out/restricts the weapons, because I think Vantage Points and Sniper Park work just as good as Deathmatch maps.

  2. Sandbox is fun a couple of times, but I won't play that regularly.

I'd love to see a server that switches to Infantry Only or Deathmatch when the playercount is low.

I like Marathon more than AOW now that veterancy is here, and there's no more servers with mine limits of 80-120.. Games end fast enough now.

What AOW always needed and still needs is a countdown anouncement. At 5 min., 4 min., 3 min., 2 min., 1 min., 30s, and then countdown from 10 to 1.

If you weren't paying attention to the countdown times games seemed to end so abruptly.

  3. one-shot had quotation marks. It's not one shot, but the time in between the 2 timed C4's is very short.

Also keep in mind that you can refill (there's a delay sure, but the first refill you do doesn't have that delay). So remote C4's are a very good countermeasure for a Sydney or Raveshaw inside of your building.

I don't get how you'd be a clueless engineer, the EMP effect is pretty noticable. And the EMP does 0 damage, but it does say "under attack", so that could give it away.

  4. The anouncer says "building x" under attack when you EMP a structure.

Sydney and Raveshaw have a very low rate of fire, when you switch to Heavy Pistol and back to PIC/Railgun it takes even more time before you can fire again. You can't afford to miss a shot and you're quite vulnerable in the tight space of a structure.

You can repair the mines while they're being EMP'd, or if it's you own mines, quickly disarm and place new ones (preferably one by one). Sometimes there's even enough time to get remote C4 ready before they'll enter your structure.

Sydney/RaveSaw/LCG/Gunner can't "one-shot" a building like Hotwires and Techicians can, you even get warned as soon as the EMP hits.

  5. I've seen it, but i would've liked to see another perspective, preferably of what the field looked like. Gliven stays in base most of the game (nothing wrong with that as he was dedicated defender).  But it's ok if ou don't want to upload it.

Forgot to mention, Tunnels Airstrip needs to be turned around 180 degrees so it won't be as easy to farm vehicles as they drop off @Henk

This means it'll be longer before the Harvester arrives at the tib field. Might be able to balance it out by tweaking some numbers, but maybe it's better to add more cover to the strip.

Edit: Also, you'll then be able to farm them as they drop off when you're shooting from the tunnel side. And it'll still be possible from the field side, it'll just be further away.

  7. I prefer to not listen to music during most games, so i can better hear my surroundings and other important sounds. Also, some games already have great music that really enhances the experience. But there's a couple of games where I turn off the music after I've heard about enough of it, but leave sounds on, like Fire Emblem, RCT, Game Dev Tycoon. I don't play music that's very fitting to those games; Hardstyle. But it's just the music I most like and almost always play.

Gonna try and add some engraving to the gravestones - and I'll probably only do 1 texture or 2, with the standardised one

You can do multiple engravings on 1 texture by using the Red, Blue and Green channels. And you might be able to fit multiple engravings on each channel, depending on how large they are. By making the UV Coordinates into parameters you can set the engraving you want for each gravestone material instance. If you keep the engravings small you could maybe fit like 16 of them on 1 channel, so there's 48 different dead people instead of just 1 or 2.

It's a nice little material challenge if you like that kind of stuff ;)

When this "fails to live up to EA standards" but stuff like 'G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra - The Game' gets released around the same time, it really begs the question as to what their standards are...

This comment on Youtube reflects my opinion.

It's always a shame to see a game so far in development being cancelled. All that work for nothing.

This was the only game I was really hyped for back then, I rarely get hyped for any game, and then the cancellation happened..

Same happened to Generals 2, that could've been a cool game, I liked how there was a European army.

  10. I think the color palette could use some variation, and more saturation. The brightness of the map looks good, but it could use a bit more contrast between grass/sand/rock/sky.

And the tiberium cave needs crystals.
