    spare time

Lol thats awesome. I used to be into case modding a few years ago cutting various shapes into the side of the case with a dremel adding some plexiglass and placing some LED's behind it. My favourite one was a C&C 3 one.. let me hunt for a pic... I also fitted one to an old audio amplifier and placed a small screen on the front: Ric

    hi im new

Welcome, you'll feel at home here amongst so many other C&C fans. Ric
  5. I didn't notice it being a problem when I played. It does seem bright in some screenshots but I found it quite easy to read whilst playing. Ric
  6. Thank you for your kind words. I believe we already have a full team of internal testers but we will be looking forward to your feedback when the Beta is released Ric
  7. Nope. As suggested in the FAQ you just need a legitimate copy of Unreal Torunament 3 and a PC that can run it. The mod itself is free to download and free to play. Ric
  8. In an RTS it's an okay idea if all parties agree but an FPS? Never going to happen. Even if you did set the game so that buildings didn't receive damage you'd probably just find groups of the enemy around MCT's waiting for the time limit to expire. Ric

    Question

Something to remember is that most laptop graphics chipsets are cut down versions of full graphics cards. This means that it won't be as powerful as a desktop. You will essentially need to play with lower graphics settings to get a smooth frame rate. Also make sure your not running anything in the background while your trying to play and as suggested ensure your drivers are all up to date. I would suggest visiting your laptop manufacturers website for the correct up to date drivers although they may not be the most up to date drivers, check the dates on them. Ric
  10. I haven't checked on Reborn for a while but I imagine all of their assets would need to be remade for a better engine which would be a lot of work. Considering how much work they've put into it already I'd understand if they wanted to stick with the Renegade engine. Ric
  11. Even more UT3 good ness for under a fiver! (UK people again): http://www.asda-entertainment.co.uk/asda/10051648.product Ric
  12. It's pretty old now but you can learn the basics of 3D design in Gmax. However I don't know if you can still activate it. The good news is it's free. Ric
  13. *Checks pockets*... Chewing gum? Ric
  14. No worries, looks like it's just gone up a penny to £5 though. Hopefully the extra penny won't put any one off lol Ric
  15. For those in the UK I just spotted it at Zavvi.co.uk for £4.99: http://www.zavvi.co.uk/zavvi/10051648.product Ric
  16. The best thing to do is to find tutorial, preferably video tutorials on sites like http://www.3dtotal.com My personal advice when modelling is to break things down into small sections. A whole model can seem overwhelming but if you do a bit at a time it's a much easier task. I also find I draw ideas down first and break things down in my head and on paper before jumping into a model. This gets easier with time. Ric
  17. I've been in it from the beginning. I borrowed the DOS version from my step brother and loved it so much I persuaded my dad to buy me copy which turned out to be the DOS / WIN 95 combined version with 4 discs (2 NOD, 2 GDI). Been a massive fan ever since Ric
  18. This is an excellent tutorial by Stefan Morrell the creator of the hard surfaces tutorial: http://mos.futurenet.com/pdf/3dworld/TDW88_t_cyborg.pdf Ric
  19. Great job Bob. Why aren't you texturing for Tiberian Dawn? Ric

  21. I too love the boink, it's jsut not the same without it Ric
  22. I would recommend learning how to assign smoothing groups manually. That way if you do decide to use the likes of mesh/turbo smooth you can ask it to smooth by smoothing group giving you much better results. I'm sure Killa can help you out though. Ric
  23. It's actually the same for me too in IE7. I have to use the middle mouse button to scroll across. Do we not have an auto image resizer plugin we can use? Ric
  24. I think it's obvious who I would vote for but Command and Crysis does look promising. Ric
  25. QUOTE (GummiBear @ May 4 2008, 01:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm the same. Definitely worth it though Ric
