  1. Nobody is argueing for realism though. We just want the game to be more like Command & Conquer. The setting is based on the first C&C game, Tiberian Dawn (1995). The sniper in that game (which was called a Commando) was useless against vehicles. If 1 Buggy spotted you, it was game over. Rocket Soldier is a dedicated AA infantry, but he's hardly used because Havoc/Sakura do it much better. It doesn't make sense from a gameplay, balancing or lore perspective. Snipers are the anti-infantry units, they should have little or no impact on vehicles, that's what AT infantry, tanks, Sydney/Raveshaw/Mobius/Mendoza are for.
  2. @HaTe: Zone Raider is from Tiberium Wars, not Tiberian Sun. And BF4 is not realistic, it's just Call of Duty with vehicles. ArmA, Operation Flashpoint, Red Orchestra, Americas Army, those are realistic games. MRLS and Artillery are already fragile and light armored, you can take them down with almost anything. The idea that snipers should counter VEHICLES is absurd and nonsensical.
  3. I guess we should give it a try. Counter-Strike, a very old game has it. Annoying people and trolls can be muted/kicked/banned. So all in all this should bring more cooperation, organization and teamwork to public servers, and clanwars won't need a third party software like TeamSpeak/Ventrilo/Skype/whatever. Sometimes you just don't have the time to write "apc inc", because you're constantly dodging bullets and being in the heat of things. Standing still just to type is a real handicap. Furthermore, terminologies and shortcuts will only alienate the beginning players who don't understand what they mean. At best just make VOIP a server setting that can be toggled on or off.
  4. Lakeside and Goldrush have a deep learning curve to them. They are pretty, big and realistic maps, but newbs easily get lost and find themselves disoriented. And once you get killed, you have to travel a long way again. Symmetric small maps, although awful in design, are simple and you get thrown into the action right away. Also for some reason desert maps are popular in most FPS games.
  5. Now you can LOCK ON, so there is no excuse. Then there's Sydney, Raveshaw.. and even Gunners. Seriously anything besides snipers.
  6. I can easily see SBHs when they are close to me, no problem at all.. But then again, I'm playing on low settings for best performance. When you turn off all the flashy bling bling eyecandy, you get a distinct advantage.
  7. Why does Nod have airstrikes anyway? Airstrikes should be an exclusive luxury for GDI only. It would also be cool if there was a "Gunboat bombardment" option in Islands. If balance is an issue, add Recon Bikes and SSM Launchers to the Nod arsenal. You can also add SAM sites to Walls_Flying. This should add more difference to both factions. GDI emphasizes on power projection and combined arms. Nod emphasizes on asymmetric and guerilla warfare. Also I've noticed there's a lack of Stealth Tank rushes in this game, while STank rushes in Renegade were very common.
  8. I agree, it's ridiculous how snipers destroy helicopters and light vehicles so easily. Snipers are supposed to be pure anti-infantry. If any infantry should be effective against flying vehicles it should be Rocket Soldiers, just like in the original RTS game.
  9. I hope this game doesn't die.
