Renegade X PowerShell Program Builder
View File
Here I have developed a program builder for Renegade X using PowerShell (included by default within Windows 10). The idea behind this is to quickly setup Renegade X from PC to PC, transferring settings easily. Preferably, I wanted the program builder to setup Renegade X without any dependencies (Direct X, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, etc). In other program builders I have included all game files but for this variant (Renegade X) only the launcher version 0.85 is available. This is because Renegade X is a being updated frequently to this date (26/01/2021). Renegade X.zip is 7.50 MB. Hopefully someone may find use out of this, or update it further.
Required Dependencies:
- Windows OS
- PowerShell 3

That's weird, the number keys still work for me. Would be screwed if not, cause my mouse wheel is broken. Maybe verifying your game integrety can fix your issue.
Game integrity resets settings which I want to avoid, before changing keybinds I performed this.
-
I know there's many bugs regarding the keybinds. I've previously submitted it in a post years ago and the issues remain. But this one is new.
-
Currently the number keys 1 - 9 no longer swap weapons and there's a cooldown delay whilst switching weapons using the mouse wheel. How do I disable the mousewheel delay and re-enable number keys to swap weapons?
-
I second the Huge Dick's post above. If you see a vote kick against your name pop up. Quickly ask in game chat a reason for the vote and state for F2 (default keybind) to be pressed if it's an unjustifiable reason.
Welcome to Renegade X.
Glad to see Freak was able to resolve promptly.
I've just noticed that after typing the above this thread was opened last year. Oh well.

Update: Unable to join the "Renegade X Server". Pressing the join button from launcher loads the game to main menu. Pressing join from the in-game server menu does nothing.
-
Looks like there's a typo here. Correct syntax is below.
start Binaries\Win64\UDK.exe server DEF-DarkNight?IsLanMatch=true -nosteam

To start the server with the desired map, you should use a batch file like this. If you used this exact batch file, you would place it in the Renegade X directory
start Binaries\Win64\UDK.exe server DEF-DarkNight?bIsLanMatch=true -nosteam
Mine and tank limits are all defined by the map itself, although the configs still contain it, changing the configs won't do anything. As far as I'm aware, all the bot limits and such are irrelevant for defense mode, as the map contains bot spawners and it's own wave count and such. I may be wrong with that.
If you need any further assistance, I am happy to help
Thank you for this. I'll give it a try.

Hello,
I would like to play the Defence Gamemode (defend the Barracks, within the Skirmish Menu) over LAN with multiple other computers. I assume I would have to 'Launch Server' within the Renegade X Launcher. As by default the console generates many critical errors. How would I change the settings to the following:
Gamemode: Defence Survival
Map: The Night One (only one that exists)
Starting Credits: 2000
GDI Players: 16
GDI AI: Tiberioum-Blessed
NOD Players: 4 (does this effect how many enemies spawn?)
NOD AI: Masterful
Mine Limit: 50
Tank Limit: 10
Any other settings....Appreciate the support.
Thank you. -
Hello,
I would like to backup the file(s) which save my current in-game settings (visuals, audio, hotkeys, etc) along with launcher settings (skip movies, etc). Would anyone know which file(s) these are?
Thanks.

Otherwise on smaller maps like Field, you could potentially end up with a near infinite amount of airstrikes being called on the front entrance of a base, one after another
This is exactly what's happening now. Airstrikes can only be called one after another.

4. Currently this wouldn't work. Rep tool/gun uses both clicks for different functions. Left click = Disarm own proxy mines, Right click = repair own mines.
Change some key bindings, holding CTRL will disable auto-seek.

Hi,
1. Settings > Input > Key Binding > Primary Weapon > 1
2. Settings > Input > Key Binding > Sidearm Weapon > 2Now when you vote.
1. CTRL + V + 7, type text, enter.
a. Among all will be displayed to team only.
b. Selecting team only will show entire server.Bug: Voting player visibility is inverted.
That's all folks.

Hello again,
1. Airstrikes, allow multiple airstrikes at once, add x minute cooldown per player usage. x is equal to ( {players-on-team}/7.5} + 5 ).
2. EMP grenades, after vehicle being hit, while vehicle is being repaired, allow slow vehicle movement.
3. Allow purchasing multiple items, does not replace current item (/forums/topic/76284-keep-purchased-items-or-refund-credits)
4. Allow repair gun auto seek (non-straight-line). The blue beam of repair gun will seek to repairable target, holding right click will enable straight-line-fire (disables seek).
That's all, for now.

Hello,
1. In the attachment (Untitled.jpg) I have highlighted multiple RenX entries. Appreciated if it was just 1 entry (Renegade X).
2. Players with fast internet connection won't suffer here. Downloading RenX through the launcher takes an extremely long time (for me 3 days @ 200kb/s). Could we please find ways to reduce this (remove unofficial maps).
3. Add map and "mutator" download extension to Renegade X launcher. Certain servers will use custom "mutators" and maps, being able to identify which servers use custom files and download them through the launcher will feel more user friendly (as will be able to play RenX in background AND won't launch RenX and start downloading with annoying click sounds).
That's all for now, only suggestions (not demands).
Kindest regards,
Newbie. -
Back with another idea,
I'd like to be able to talk to other players waiting in the lobby or even view the chat on an active server (without playing) through the Renegade X launcher. There would be a numerical indicator of active players in lobby (connected through Renegade X launcher). This may encourage others to talk while servers are full (and perhaps join another server). Original suggestion from @Fffreak9999.
Thanks.

@Quincy How do you feel about the old Mesa (with single vehicle choke point)?
-
Hello,
I'm sure we've all done it. Purchase super-weapon beacon, building needs repair, purchase a repair tool, lose beacon (wasted money). I'd like to suggest that characters are allowed more than one item OR are refunded when an item is lost.
Thanks.

Hello,
Long story short. From time-to-time I have very weak internet connection and like to play offline. I'd like the ability to save and import skirmish configuration files. Map, mines, vehicle limit and more customisation, Sydney ion-cannon damage (blowing up tanks in one shot), veteran reward per kill increase (testing heroic), and a bunch of other variables if possible.
Thanks.
-
Stick it to 32, one tank per person. See how it plays out

Hello everyone,
I'd like to suggest the following feature to fix same map spam. Every time a map is played, the server increments +1 point to the map (variables stored somewhere globally, not reset after each map). The maps with the least amount of points are shown first (top) within the map vote list. This ensures that the maps which aren't getting played, get played.
Today, and yesterday the map rotation was the same. Field X, Hourglass, Walls, Field, Hourglass (something along these lines). The resolution above will fix this.
Open to suggestions, regards,
Newbie.

Congratulations to everyone on opposing team, you played well.

Newbie is undefeated once again. 100% commander win ratio on PUG.
I would like to thank everyone who was on my team. God job lads!
As for the public games, I'm going to miss you all, thanks for a great time and all the fun.
It was nice playing with you all. Peace out
PS. I'll be back when game is fully released (eta 2018)

Swap City for Field then, otherwise it sounds good Edit: There's a problem with viewing the map preview. Can you confirm which maps we need to download?
Question: Do Settings Still Reset Per Patch
in Feedback & Bug Reports
Posted
As the title suggests, I'm looking to find out if settings still get reset after each patch update as this is why I stopped playing Ren X.
